I had this same problem so I fixed it :D . Before I started kicking in my shop (like a rec room) and was late night sessioning at the local grocery store I bought some kind of small portable speakers under Sony. I got them at Walgreens because they were 2 bucks cheaper there as opposed Best Buy.

http://i13.ebayimg.com/01/i/02/c7/af/56_2.JPG that should be them. They got pretty good sound except for when there was a lot of traffic. But why would you want to kick around traffic anyway.

The sound is alright, but for my cd player and the speakers to work, it requires 6 double A batteries which in itself is expensive. I think the problems can be solved by buying some good rechargable batteries but thats more money.

Anyway, I didn't use them much before we had cleaned out our shop with electricity. Now I use bigger computer speakers insted to get more sound quality.
Its all or nothing
