Footbang fo' life
Word to your mothers, James is in da house. Check this, at my college they're hosting a talent show and I signed up for it. It's all going down tomorrow afternoon. I have five minutes to do my thang except five minutes is probably too much! I still haven't really decided on a song. I want one with a beat I can follow very easily (with kicks and tiltless). Fuck is it exhausting though! I was just practicing today and after 2 or 3 tries through a song I was beat. I'm just going to have to wing it tomorrow. I know people love seeing spins and ducks/dives so that will be my finisher, with some datws and barflies right before. I think I'ma sneak a doof in there if I can.
And check THIS, for the first time ever, I might ACTUALLY GET PAID TO PLAY FOOTBAG! That is if I win. Some stupid singing bleeptch might have more 'talent' than a world class athlete.
But i'm a bit worried because I played for the last four days and my legs are killing me. I hope they're ok for tomorrow. And I hope I don't suck like I usually do.
Wish me luck ya'll.

I definitely want to shred to that song one day. I ended up using 'ain't sayin' nuthin' new' by The Roots. Everyone went nuts, I shredded ok. But that's yesterday's news.
I had a session earlier tonight in my uncle's garage (which was freezing cold!) and it went well. Hit a bunch of new moves and close to a bunch more. Hit both op clip double pickups and far double switchovers. Worked on barrages (couldn't hit symp barrage though...maybe in a month). Hit some nifty combos like weaving butterfly>diving mirage and diving butterfly>weaving mirage
Also hit weaving illusion. Came close to symp blazing op legover. Hit swirl>blender. Yada yada yada.
But most importantly I'm here to list things I must remember when playing footbag and read them every day till there permanized in my head:
1) Wait for the bag, see it land on stopped on your foot BEFORE starting the next move.
2) Play slower.
3) It's all about the knees. Raising your knees is the single most important part in every move.
4) Be constructive. Don't get frustrated, analyse what you did and what you could do differently to hit the trick.
5) Watch and spot the bag religiously.
6) Know the move as you hit it.

Holy shit, smartest things to remember ever.
Especially the last one.
I always think about how it felt when i did it right whenever doing a trick.
Good things to remember man.

Werd Tom.
Andrew that crazy stuff only works in french. After reading all the crappy english raps I decided I did not want to do one in english...ever. Hahahahaha.
Though yours is dope, has like proper metaphors like it's supposed to, without random contrived rhyming.
On another note, maybe footbaggers should stick to what they're good at...OR we could have tournaments where footbaggers compete at all sorts of things besides footbag. I know a busload of us are guitarists, or various other instruments. Plus there's other sports. Hey I bet Andrew is the best footbagging fencer in the world. Ales is probably the best guitarist from what I've heard about him.
Who accepts my PING PONG CHALLENGE!!
Ok it is way too late and I'm talking way too much.

Phat Matt Baker is a really good fencer too - He's one of the best fencers in Australia I think and has competed in international tournaments I think.
Also I have a friend named Tom Ward who can some basic footbag stuff - like only tiltless stuff but he's released a classical guitar cd that's available all around Australia (I'm not sure if it ever got an international release) and he's won a lot of awards - like Young Australian Composer of the Year (or something similar) with a $30,000 cheque! - He's also one of the best diablo people in Australia which just goes to show what you can achieve when you live in the bush and spend your whole life playing guitar, diablo and video games.

DAmn that's craziness! Footbaggers are the most diverse crackpots in the world. Hey I heard Ryan Thomas is better at tennis than he is at footbag (which means he must be a mean tennis player). Ianik is supposedly a better drummer than freestyler (also says a lot about his drumming skills).
Ha diablo. I will never ever play that game again. All my friends and I went through a diablo phase and it just got ridiculous. There is always someone ten times more powerful than you are and all you do is hack your way through the same assholes over and over again.
YO LET'S DO ANDY!
NO WAY MAN MEPH RUN YOUR WAY TO THE BANK
SCREW DAT I WANT SOME RUNES, KILL THE COUNTESS!!!

I've actually wasted a lot of my time on Diablo2 (before the expention pack) and I finished #1 on ladder.. I regret all the time I wasted into a videogame for a dumb rank.. I could have been shredding instead! oh well..
http://diablo2.cdprojekt.com/default.asp?ID=bn
heres the last page with the ladder rankings.. even BattleNet does'nt show my leet rank anymore!
I was Of_devices on Useast hardcore server
I'm not talking about this anymore.. I'm really pissed how much time I wasted!

Sorry
I can see the confusion! I did mean the two sticks with the inside out ball cut in half thing in the middle kept up with string. Tom also played lots of video games - but I don't think he ever got into Diablo the game - his video game strengths were Tetris and GoldenEye. I think these days he spends like 8 hours a day playing guitar so doesn't do anything else with his hands.
edit: regarding his two sticks thing (whatever it's called) - he found some website (like footbag.org for the two stick thing) and practiced for a few hours every day until he could do every trick on that website - so he's pretty good! - I think he can juggle 3 things on the string at once (definitly he can do two really easily).
But he sucks at footbag - I don't know if you could even call him a footbagger - he circle kicks a bit and I've taught him a few moves - like legover, atw, mirage, pendulum etc. - but he only trys tricks when he's playing with me - which hasn't been for over a year.
