Man my legs hurt, today is definitely a rest day. I think I'll be good for a drill session tomorrow tho, and I'm looking forward to upping my records. I was real impressed with myself at the amount of records I broke yesterday and this drilling stuff is taking my game to a new level! I'm easily averaging 10 contact strings now, good strings being like 15 - 20 and it's such a good feeling.
So I'm talking to this guy I met last spring when I was still pretty noob about footbag. I was just doing clipper and mirage shit at this park and he came up to me and asked to play, so we kicked it around a bit and eventually I hit butterfly>mirage and he was blown away! He just started talking about how he considers himself the best hacky sacker he knows and that I was totally impressing him. I didn't even have my lavers on and I was wearing Jeans!
Funny thing about that day, he was talking to me about how his new shoes he just bought were so good for hacky sack, he's telling me how they are the shoes that the g-units were modeled off and that they were called Rod Lavers. I thought that was so funny and I told him how most footbaggers use lavers and he could definitely see why.
Anyways we exchanged emails and we talk once in a while online about footbag and shit, he's made it out to a few shred sessions here in Ottawa, and he had been practicing basically just atw's and mirages with a bit of clipper practice ever since that day I met him in the park.
Anyways, this year he moved to Montreal for school and I just finished talking with him and he told me something I'm so happy to hear. He told me that this winter he's going to step up the footbag practice and he told me to watch out for him next summer, he's anticipating to explode this winter and he's got these fresh new ideas about incorporating more break dance stuff into his shred, he could be epic. And living in Montreal is perfect! Such a bigger footbag scene there than here in Ottawa haha. I'll keep you guys notified on his progress if he doesn't find his way here before.

I bought a boom box yesterday!!!! Im stoked to use it but its getting fucking cold here... no more leaves on the trees
well not many I'm guessing the first time I use it will be when I go to Kingston to shred with Tom on the first weekend of November, hopefully I'll have lots of new shit hit by then.
Oh! And I was trying both side pdx whirls today, got real close many times on my strong side, one roll off!

No shreddage today, but I did mod my lavers! And I have a funny footbag related story too!
Ok first, the lavers, I did half the tubing mod Hood posted on his website. I glued a chunk of tube to the inside bottom of my two soles. They're drying infront of a fan right now I'll post tomorrow about em and their playability.
Ok funny story time. I work in the kitchen of a Kelseys restaraunt. I was at work today, and I was asking people I was working with if they knew anyone who went to Queens University. I was asking these people because I wanted to turn that into footbag conversation because that's my favourite topic to chat about anywhere!
Anyways, as I'm going to Kingston in a couple weeks to shred with Tom I figured if I found anyone who knew people who were going to Queens U(that is in Kingston) and liked hacky sack they could check us out when I went down there. OK I know long shot, but it was just my plan-of-the-moment to shift the random banter into footbag chat.
AAAAAAnyways, this one guy got to asking me, so just how good Are you at hacky sack? I told him (after I corrected his use of the word hacky sack) that it was hard to explain to someone who doesnt play footbag how good I am at it, I said it was easier to show someone. He asked me if there was anything around the kitchen I could use to show him, I said probably not, plus I had shitty work shoes, big baggy chef pants and an apron on.
But he wanted to see me play so he looks around for a second, spots a bag of prepped pre-diced chicken breast, ties the bag up, chops the extra baggage off above the knot and tosses it to me, haha I look at it, toss it up a few times and figure, hey you never know. So I drop it on my toe, and first try, I hit atw>opp toe>atw, catch. The three other guys who were watching were all just blown away, they're all like haha that was so friggin cool, you ARE amazing at hacky sack. I said that was really nothing and that they should come out to one of my meetups and they said they'd try to. I explained to them how that was a 2 component move (2 add) and that I'm working on 5 adds and they were real impressed. I kept the bag of chicken, it makes a good little at-work hacky.

Lon Smith updated the records list and MY FUCKING NAME IS ON IT WHAT THE BLOODY FUCK!? I know it's a pretty simple record and alot of amazing people could definitely destroy it, but it makes me feel so good to be up there and sorta kinda recognized YAY!

YAY!Digicam action? Sweet dude. With you 100 seconds, and the 200 seconds I can get off of my Digicam we can probably get some good tricks on video... Hopefully by this Christmas I will have sold my camera and picked up a digital camcorder, then we'll be set!!!

-fairy ss butterfly on strong side, still trying for flipside (note drill BOTH SIDE fairies)
-pixie pickup>pixie pickup>dimwalk>tiltless string
I was going to buy my bus ticket to Kignston today but I slept in till 2 eek and my car is gone somewhere.. meh, tomorrow i will definitely get it.. cuz if I dont get it tomorrow the price jumps up 16 bucks! ahhh Two more days till kingston vapours fill my nose!

Tom, Jared, and I are in the retard room at queens. We're getting some fliers for the KFM printed out, then we're going to shred and hand them out and shit.

Damn didn't hit anything from that list haha, but I had alot of good long strings, hit clipset dlo bsos a whole wack of times.

-got a few dimwalk>blurs on both sides

My stepping set is coming along very nicely, oh and totally both sided, each side is totally equal and I'm proud and happy about that.
We gave out tonnes of Kingston footbag militia fliers so the potentials'll be coming out of the woodwork like crazy this week! Just wait and see. Kingston's gonna explode!!!!!!!
Jared busted bsos clippers a whole bunch of times, and clipper>ss clipper both sides.
i hit atomsmasher both sides today too, blur both sides, ripwalks mid string all over, both sides.
definitely a solid weekend for sure, footbag is the greatest concoction ever developed!
