I'm so sorry to hear about that. Three of my friends were in a car accident too just last week, but luckily it wasn't as bad as the one you just described. They were pulling out of a gas station turning left into a double lane. A person waved them on, but didn't know someone in the lane beside them was coming, they got t-boned. Luckily my friends car is a 95 (I think) Corolla and was made of steel, not much damage. The Hundai (sp) Accent however was ruined.

I hope your friends make a fast recovery.

"The 16-year-old driver, Jeremy Shott"

Man, the things you do when you first get your license, I hope other will learn from this...

I know I did a REALLy stupid thing 3 weeks after I got my license, blew through a stop sign at 70km/h and smoked a minivan, JUST missed t-boning him, got his back end, I had 3 others in my car, they were all wearing their seatbelts and luckily no one was hurt, that sure did teach me a lesson though....

Here's what happened to my car....

I don't want to sound like an ass, but there is no other way to say this.

what the hell where they doing going 90 mph in PA? The max speed limit in PA is 65 and thats on the interstate. And I doubt he was on the interstate if he hit a tree. That is no accident.

Oh ya, lets feel bad for the driver because he is such a really good person if he's willing put 3 of his friends lives at risk just to get a small adrenaline rush. There is a reason we have speed limits. The only time cops don't care if u go over the speed limit is if weather conditions are good and the roads aren't too busy. And even then they only allow +10 mph. Yes it's tragic that this kid fucked up his friends lives, and it is tragic that he decided to drive that fast. But its not tragic that he crashed. It was expected.

And if you want to say his friends were victims, then your wrong. Because they should have told him to slow down. I know when i'm in the car with my step-brother and he starts going way over the limit, i tell him i don't feel comfortable. He respects that and slows down.

I said what I said, because i feel it had to be said. You can't sit there and pity them for getting in a crash. You should pity them for making bad choices.

now doesnt seem like the time to be making judgments like this. maybe it wasnt a smart thing to do, but you can still feel bad for the people's friends who have to deal with the aftermath of decisions like this. whats done is done...now is time to hope everyone's situations improve, and be there for people involved, it isnt time to ask what the people involved were thinking.

yes it is time. You aren't going to learn from these people's mistakes if you call it an accident. Because an accident implies nothing could have been done to prevent it and it was out of their hands. If you aren't going to aknowledge the mistake made, then everything they're suffering through is meaningless. Pointless.

I know I didn't mention this in my earlier post and i probably should have. I do feel bad that someone close to you has been seriously injured and put into a critical state. And I do hope they do recover so then mabey they can have a chance to learn from their own mistakes and mabey help others learn from their mistakes too. No matter how bad things may get, there almost always is something good that can come out of them.

Bad things happen. You can't always stop them. But how you respond to them is most important.
