I broke down and finally had a session with only climas. They are pretty equal to lavers as far as surfaces go, but they feel a lot different so it takes getting used to. Jere was right about double dexes. I broke my record for barflies like the first time trying. The roll off isn't that much better though, but I haven't really finished building the sole up. The toe feels strange, but I can tell that once you get used to it that it'll work good.
I hit ducking void and triple atw for the first time in climas.
Only 13 more days until Iron Maiden's Early Days dvd comes out covering from when they first started until their 4th album. Good lord I'm excited. Gig footage from way back when they played in British pubs to sold out arenas of thousands. 4 hours long!

Brad: I had a pretty good session. Hit some new tricks.
Bob: Hit some new moves. i wish i felt like i was getting better. strings still suck. 4 atom smashers in a row. which is a record over 2 before. ummm. in other news i just found out that i am probably gonna get an F in one of my courses cause i didn't drop it in time. ummmm.....i'm getting an MRI tomorrow to find out if anything is wrong with my knee cause it's been hurting for around 2 or 3 years now. nothing horribly horribly bad, just a constant pain i wanna check out.
John : Brad needs more extensive sections, he cheats. He should have the longest paragraph since he hit like 50 new moves. Ok ,maybe like 5. Me on the other hand hit nothing new.
I Broka mod'd my shoes, not a whole lot, but enough to give me a little less resistance against my ankles. The suede seems to be a little stiff. I felt really good at the beginning of my session, I played like normal though, soo...I'm sorry, but I don't have anything to report on.

I finally got to play. I've been too busy this week. Anyways, I was in a really good mood before I played for girl reasons I won't disclose so I just played light and easy trying to have as much fun as possible. My flip double down was working much like my good side which is the product of lots of skooling lately. I'm pretty satisfied with it now. I filmed yet again
Jackson 5 were good
Someone asked me why I don't put any of these vids in the video section. Well, I don't consider the ones that I put in here real vids. They're just me messing around. Hope those of you that read enjoy though.

Thanks for the props guys!
I played for an hour today and it was pretty fun. I hit triage midstring and I think that was my big accomplishment for the day. I hadn't even tried until last friday and it was inspired by Jeremy's thread in the Trick Tips forum. But I don't do it like Jeremy or Ken so I naturally think my way is the best
I also hit whirlwind rake for the first time. It felt way shaky, but I stuck it and played into a butterfly and so on.
I can't wait for Chilly Philly. I can't think of any better way to spend New Years. Well, that's a lie, but it's a damn close second! I want to start skooling a lot harder for it. I'll have some time after the second week of December because school will be out. A solid 2 weeks of training should put my game in good standing, I hope.

Good weekend, good weekend. On Friday, I had my usual after work shred with Brad, I didn't really feel up to it, long day. I also wanted to get back home and play Half-Life 2, if anyone has that game, then they'll know why I felt like that. This upcoming week I've got 5 tests within 3 days, with 2 projects due also in those 3 days. So Monday - Wednesday will be a bitch, a big naggy heavy set bitch.
On Saturday, we had a party for my buddy Justin, nothin special, but what was so kick ass about it was that Sick '03 and Fourkast came in from Freedom Footbags, Thanks Genzu and whatever crew is helping you. Brad also received his Natural Born Kickers from MonsterHack on Saturday, so there was a lot of footbag watching !
Later that night , well, it felt later, but it was really only like 8 PM, Brad, Bob, and I went out to shred. I convinced them to kick outside, we don't have any good spots at night, but I told them I'd drive around downtown until we found one. Eventually, we were lead to a car dealership that had bright ass lights, lit everything up. So we kicked there, Brad was having a "I'm playing horrible." night, I thought he was doing ok, but sometimes his own state kinda spirals him down. I know he hit some good combos, because I remember gettin all excited about some of them. We all just messed around the whole time, didn't really shred hard. Bob had his nice white Fred T. bag washed, so it was pretty visible with the lights shining on it's white gloriness. Bob wasn't too consistant that night, neither was I, my strings were short and sweet, well, mostly short
I hit flip pixie ducking butterfly for the first time, it was midstring too, felt really good.
I think once I'm on my huge ass winterbreak, which starts on Thanksgiving, I'm going to give up working out after work, and substitute it with shred, I'll attempt to shred atleast 3 times a week, but what I really want is sessioning, EVERY night. I want to shape up for Chilly Philly, I'm so excited for that event. I can't wait to see all the East Coast faces. I can't wait to kick with all the noobians that are now better than me ! It's amazing how kickers now adays are just getting so much skill so fast. I can see why, there are more people playing, so there are bound to be those that learn faster. They have better knowledge of footbag, more resources to learn from. Those who have a craving for footbag learn pretty fast too, and there are more and more of those people out there. I'm just glad I'm still kicking so I can see all the advancement in footbag.
*Goes back to past*
I remember the days when I heard of some kid named Vasek from some other country, heard he was the next footbag pro to come, guess I heard right. When I didn't know about this footbag forum. When the only footbag footage I ever saw was 'Raw Shred'. When I couldn't hit osis, because that trick was impossible. When triple around the world was unheard of and nemesis was just a concept and the crown of all tricks. When Mulroney ruled over competetions. When Ted Fritz beat out Bobby G. in competition
When the Euro scene wasn't the Euro scene. When BAP was the only form of elite I knew of. When there were only a couple of sets that were mostly used, now there are too many to list. I've only been playing for 4 years or so, footbag is moving pretty fast if you think about it.

yea. like john said, again, not really consistent that night. or any night. haha. i had one long string that ended in the hand catch of dignity. so that was cool. atomsmasher>atomsmasher. umm. string with surging same side osis midstring. stepping op pickup > flux > a small string that looked pretty stylie. i'd say that was about all. on the good side my components are starting to get better. doing 10 consec butterflies isn't that hard and 10 osii aren't either now. maybe i can even start linking stuff!!!!!
guys: i'll be back in tuesday night. shred after work?

Hey John,
I really liked that flashback you posted.
I feel so.. young in this sport still and I am eager to let the future happen because this footbag stuff is so frigging crazy!
It's good to see that after four years you still love it!
I sure wish I had started four years ago.
I am busting my ass so that I can shred with you and all of everyone at chilly philly - see you there!

Bob, about shred on Tuesday, I plan on shredding everyday after work, when i feel better. I think I'm getting sick, but if I'm not too bad, I'll kick. I won't be kicking anytime before Thanksgiving though, Finals and family will be priority. I'm guessing though, if my body continues to be a piece of shit, I'll probably be sick tomorrow. We'll see !!! Maybe I'll make a Tissue Please 2

It seems my immune system is overcoming the odds, I'm feeling better today. Weds will be my last finals, so if you guys want to shred on Weds. night, I'm up for it, sisters don't come in till Thursday, so if Brad, if you want to film for the sets or the other project, it's up to you.

hey everyone. i'm down with wednesday shred.
i also shred tonight. Nothing huge but i did feel more consistant. i played out of paradox drifter for the first time. sealed mobius for the second time. i don't know. nothing huge, but it just felt like a good session. a couple decent strings. my pixie is still losing ground
. man i can't keep that thing for shit. haha, i also tried ps whirling xbody rake.......and i kicked myself and fell. but i wasn't hurt so it was really funny.
kinda funny though and i'd like to throw this out and see if anyone else has had this happen......this is the second time now that i've kicked myself and made myself bleed. does this happen to anyone else!??! I ACTUALLY BLEED. nothing bad, just scrapes from the bottom of my shoes doing double downs normally.
new moves for the night - surging rake.... if you want to learn surging rake, try to do surging symp mirage.......in fact thats what i was trying to do, but i spun so much i'd say i nearly completely took the dex out of it.....so it metamophrasized into a surging rake.
new combos for the night - none huge, but i had spinning osis > inspinning osis > spinning osis go off my foot. i guess i hit it but i had to kick it back up to myself. i was trying to think of a way to appease ken s. because he always says that the sick 3's in the competition are one sided spinning. so i was making a change to that. not that i am entering, but if he sees this....smile ken, you've inspired me again.

flashback:
I hear ya john, remember when surging was just being invented? how about nuclear? we may not have been around for the FIRST nuclear move, but we were there for the expansion of the set. and bubba too. i mean, it's nuts that major leaps in footbag have been made in just the 4 and a half years we've been playing.
