well, it's been a while. any thing to note...
not really.
had fun at the demo's this weekend. it was cool. first it was joel, scott, erik and i. then derek showed up. the demo's went some thing like this... the first time we just basically said "we are the hackrifice footbag club, enjoy" because there were 5 people there, after that we got more organized as people showed up. so, music came on, we each took a turn just shredding, one long run, drop, then the next person would do the same, just to get peoples attention. once every one took a turn. joel introduced us one by one as we would shred again. after that he would do a brief explanation of the add system and how things were scored. after that we did a simulated sickest trick competition with 5 try's to hit the trick and a simulated shred 30. . at first it was pretty shakey. i hit locomotion on my 5th and final try, in one of the other demo's i footed backside spiked hammer on my second attempt at the trick (which was cool, i haven't tried this trick in ages. also for the shred 30 joel didn't bring a watch up on stage so he was trying to count in his head, but would end up just watching the shred and forget about it totally.
erik and scott left after the second one, so derek and i finished up the last 2. the last one was by far the best. the skate team that was doing demos on the other side had stopped and came to watch us. they were pretty blown away. any way derek hit on his first try> mullet, second try> montage, 3rd try> gauntlet, 4th try> footed goliath, 5th try sealed it. awesome! i don't remember what i hit though. locomotion and food i think...
any way, after that we went down to the local, a bar owned by one of the skate guys, they hooked us up with free drinks, food, and red bull. about the red bull, derek and i slammed a can each at about 11. bad idea, i fell asleep finally at about 6am.
any way, next day. i show up first followed by joel then derek. scott shows up, and the 3 of us do a demo along the lines of the other ones. josh showed up for the last 2 which was cool. the very last demo i was really tired because i had played for about 10 hours in the past 2 days, which i haven't done in a long while. any way, last sick 1, i hit blurry whirl>first try, whirly gig>second try, locomotion>3rd try, foodprocessor> 4th try, footed mullet on my fifth and final try. i was pretty stoked! hurrah!
edit: for some reason, i hit submit, but i still had alot to write. any way, after the show was over and the skate guys were taking down their equipment, i asked if i could try a trick on some of their equipment. they said sure. i went up on the table top to this rail that was just under 2 feet high. i wanted to rip walk over it, and managed it on my 4th try to the ooh's and aah's of the skate team. after that we packed up and left. it had been pretty fun. and we made 300 bones for the demo and sold 60 worth of bags. alot of that is going to go to our comp next year as prize money!!! werd.
what else happened. oh my knees are really really sore form working blurry whirling swirls and ps whirling swirls. have footed blurry whirling swirl a few times but nada. haven't footed ps whirling swirl yet, and doon't intend to try very much in the next little while since my knees really are hurting alot. so much so that i took last night and tonight off from kicking. i might be back to it tomorrow, but we'll just wait and see. caleb's post about his knees as well as ricky's condition are making me want to be very cautious with my knees, especially since mine are already worse for wear!
not really.

sign me up for the injured list!!!!
right knee is gone, left knee is going. had to take numerous sit downs at today's shred inorder to make it through. i'm taking the rest of the week off from any thing that will stress them. the only time i will be standing/ walking, will be at work, the rest of the time, i'm sitting on my ass or lying down.
the right knee seems to be the worst. i can tell it's from blenders. i'm likely trying to move my leg too fast when doing mind benders and spinning blenders. either way, it's seriously painful when i do them. ps whirls probably aren't helping, because that puts alot of stress on your joints. fog is hurting my hips, as well as atomics, so i think i'll lay those off for a bit and maybe work my spinning and ducking (boo! boring!) for a little while. i'm going to take untill at least saturday off and see how it feels then. if she's feeling good then i'll play, if not, well i'll play, but the shuffle is going to have to chill out for a while as the joints heal up.

ahwww no!!
Being injured sucks dude! What a cruel torture, unable to shuffle like the shuffler you is.
I feel for you dog.
Chill out on the break-knee tricks until they feel all awesome again, it'd seriously suck to do major damage to them and not be able to bust for even longer.

I have been hearing really unholy cracking noises from my knees when I stretch lately -- is this bad? I never have pain or problems or cracking when I play.
HEY -- watch what you say about spinning and ducking!!!!!! @______@
It sounds like your hip is a lot like mine in it's earlier stages. Atomic and whirls = baaaaad = sucky
PS whirls and skooling the heck out of flip tapping dlo and flip fusion is what eventually did me in.
Seriously, though..you're really smooth. I think spinning would suit you well. And maybe you could learn how to duck WITHOUT a stepping set beforehand ;p (That's a compliment...)
Do you want to have a GIMPASS bails session some time?
EDIT: It's REALLY warm out today!! I am soooo homework free (mostly) this weekend -- call me if you want to play! I am going to have a nap now because I didn't sleep last night, but I was planning to play when I wake up anyway! I will probably nap until 4 or 5ish

cracking isn't a bad thing. usually they are shifting into a better position. what is bad is if they crack and then start hurting, which usually means they have moved into an improper position. yeah, erik, let's have a lame-o session of bails and ducks and spins! maybe on saturday or sunday afternoon, if you aren't too busy.
i forgot to mention the other day is that i hit whirly-gig rake first try, and that derek hit back side sumo thong (which was decided should be called sumo wedgie) and was close to alpine cold fusion.

what? jeremy, i think you are very confused. those are the tricks i hit in a sick trick competition we did at the demo this weekend. we had 5 tries to thit our sick tricks, i hit all my first 4 and dropped my fifth. only in my dreams have i hit a beast, and even then my duck was the
edit, i see that i had written it in a confusing way. fixed that. in no way was i trying to slip that by any one...

tada, i finally finished my Worlds 2004 part 2 video tonight. only three and a hlaf months out of date, but what ever, you're all gonna download it any way. i'm really ahppy with this video. it's simple, it's not to pumped up with special effects. some slomo's, fades and cuts and that's about it. i'm really happy with how it turned out, but i don't suggest people with epilepsy should watch it... especially the ending!
with my time off i plan to stitch some more bags. i'm waiting one suderman to pm me about colors and then i'm gonna stitch him up one. i'm ordering some new lavers, and i've decided to go with size 9's. i play in 10 1/2 right now, but after i modded them they streched right out, and feel very odd on my feet. i figure after modding the 9's the should strech out and fit perfectly! i have a short solo video i'm planning on making next week once the knee gets a bit more rest. i just dyed my hair (to match the rest of my footbag gear) and i'm gonna uses some rolling stones for the video. can any one guess which track? haha
out!

I am dead serious here, while reading your post my hand actually twitched and shot towards the address bar to order up some mesh lavers off the internet! I want some fresh crisp mesh lavers so bad! I have still never had a pair! I am planning on getting a nice small pair like.. 8's or something and getting some good shock absorbing insoles and give these "mesh lavers" a try.

search ultra suede light on google. up pops fields fabrics. order it from there. i haven't been able to find any in winnipeg, and not for a lack of trying. i went to this gigantic fabric wholesale wearhouse. and i say to the guy i says "do you guys carry ultra suede?" he says "i don't know, what's it's blocking code" right then i knew i was fucked. the guy has no idea which fabrics are which, just the codes for them, and how to find them on the 20 foot high racks that streched through this gigantic wear house. he said i could look around for it, so i wandered around for about 45 minutes looking at fabrics, and not finding anything worth while.

well, i'm feeling pretty down. obviously due to my lack of footbag. this knee thing is really pissing me off! i've been chatting with some friends, and they all think it's best that i take the time off instead of trying to push through it (which i had thought of on saturday night, when i really felt like having a session). if after this next week, it isn't feeling better i'm off to the pan am clinic to get some physio.
the feeling down is also a bit because i have been cutting back on my cig consumption. it's time to do it, and watching max quit and mosh do the same is going to be my inspiration. my footbag game was going to be my inspiration, but since i'm not playing right now, that won't exactly work.
i'm also going a little stir crazy. i'm saving up for my trip to japan, so i haven't been going out as much. which equals less beer. alot less beer. but i'm just trying to think about how awesome japan is gonna be when i get there! and i can always drink alot of japanese beer later to make up for it!
any way, regardless, i wanna drink some beer, spark a dumaurier, and play some footbag, but i'm not going to. because it's for the best!

Hey tell me what you think of Pan Am.
I went there initially, but my dad told me to try the place he goes to. I actually feel worse, I think. I am hurting on the outside hip flexor(?) now, too -- not just the inside. I'm so messed up. I finally see my athletic therapist again on Friday -- I hope we do xrays or something to find out what the heck is wrong with me. X-rays are bad for you, right? So wouldn't it be really bad to have them, like...in that area? Bleh -- I just want to play again.
Oh yeah, and I asked my friend about ultra suede. She wasn't sure from the website you gave me by looking at the pictures so she said to drop by her store some time. She works at Marshalls (I forget where she said that is...). Just ask for Willow and mention you're my footbag ultrasuede friend.
