Those shoes cant really be modded much. Well that lacing mod isnt really doing anything for you there. You could try cutting some material from the inside of the shoe to give you more feel for the bag though I doubt it will make a difference with that material. You could drill a hole horizontally through the sole as has been discussed on this forum b4. Apparently lightens the shoe (Cant see how it could do much)

Those shoes are similar to my Vans. I dont mod them at all. No point. Just get used to them. Theyre not really that heavy, cant feel the bag as much, and no toe box but they do have flat insides (good heel stall surface too) and theyre comfortable.

Yeah there really isnt much to do on those. The lacing isnt doin jack either. Unless lavers dont fit your feet or something you should get some of those. I couldnt find any around my house so I just ordered a pair form worldfootbag.com and that is the best shred shoe I have ever had in my life, and you can mod it to your hearts content. But if you just dont want them get used to your skechers and just make do. Good luck.

i'd say, ripp the inside layer(s) of the shoe out, same thing with the toes. also, if you're feeling brave, have a go at the brocka cut. you can aways try the drilling thing, and put some holes in your soles. you can mod any thing you want. doesn't always help though. keep that in mind.

the best modification you can do to these shoes, footbag-wise, is the fire mod. this particular mod is performed by building a fire, and using it to modify these shoes into a melted, charred heap of rubber and synthetics. This will be very beneficial to your footbag game, because then you will need new shoes, and you can buy some lavers. or at least some other proven footbag shoe, like the new balance CT-520, the Reebok G6, the adidas climacool...

christ, someone should put a locked sticky at the top of this forum called "before you ask, 'do these shoes work'?", and the only thing it says in the first post is NO.

(just kidding)

(but not about the burning those shoes and getting lavers part)

do a little searching on ebay / the internet in general, and you can find a pair for around half that.

i don't mean to shut you down or anything, it's nothing personal. it's just that those shoes are pretty far from optimal, as freestyle goes. you'll be able to hit some tricks with them, I'd wager, but they're going to require a much softer, more precise touch with your delays because the surfaces aren't as good, and you're going to be pretty slowed down because they're so big and clunky and probably heavy.

don't make a big thing about being ready or not ready for lavers. if you want to hit freestyle tricks and improve at footbag, you're ready for lavers. You shouldn't look at your current shoes as training wheels, they're actually quite the opposite. once you decide you're ready, you'll have learned with those shoes and wasted a lot of time trying to learn basics that would come easier with lavers.

unfortunately, this isn't something you can really understand before you do it. but once you get lavers, and you feel the difference between using a properly modified pair of footbag shoes and the ones you've got, you'll know why I'm taking the time to write all this. You'll improve faster, and enjoy the sport more because you'll be less hindered by inoptimal equipment.

trust me on this one. I don't know if you're even that into footbag, but if you are, then do yourself a favor and get a set of shoes. If you're just in it for a little recreation, a few stalls here and there, maybe a superjester, then you can get along just fine using those shoes, and you don't need to worry about modifying them any more.

but the fact they're willing to take a perfectly good set of normal shoes that aren't that good for footbag and totally ruin them by cutting them up and modifying them tells me that you may just be ready to take the leap of faith into a set of snug, carved up lavers.

so good luck finding an affordable pair; there's plenty of them out there.

i already asked for a pair and my parents went all around town trying to find other shoes, pluss my christmas list right now is already like 500 bucks, but once i save up i will order them

yes the brocka might help clippers, if there is a lining under the material on the inside then cutting off the outer material may help. thats what i do to my leather lavers. and I saw ellis and caro of montreal cut off a layer of material on the toe of their G-units, which look very similar to your shoes, so this may help for you too. But of course be careful not to out-right ruin these shoes modding them IF they work for you right now.
