Rochester, New York Footblog
just to clarify, I'm pretty sure I saw aric hit at least one clean wiggle walk, and LOTS of clean pixie fairy sets that just had the butter drop off his foot, which was weird, because his butterflies are clean and consistent and easy. but anyway... props to aric on this awesome move. he'll have it cleaned up and busting in no time.

Now I'm not too sure but I'm pretty sure I had a dream last night where I went home and finally got my new abshire. It was a good, good dream. I had a lot of fun. I'm pretty sure I was at about matt's skill level in the dream and was really busting huge. . . I tend to do that. . IN MY DREAMS! OHH! Anyway, really looking forward to going home tomorrow and getting my new bag.
During the last session (the last two posts) I saw aric hit a symposium bubba. I just thought that was funny because I was thinking about trying that just the day before. I ended up not even playing that day. Yesterday was the first day I was shredding in a while and I hadn't skooled in about two days so I was too slow to try eggbeater and pdx drifter anymore. Oh yeah and the taco bell a few moments before really getting into the circle couldn't have helped either. . .
Sorry this post is not very much about anything new I've hit. I didn't hit anything. . So posts like these are my way of contributing.
The break will hopefully be eventful for my sorry tiltless self. Peace out foolz!

bump... this was almost on page two
so I haven't played in a couple of days because of being home for thnksgvng, but it felt better than I thought I would.
i hit:
52 infinities (new record)
matador>matador>matador both sides, and then
sumo>parkwalk>sumo just barely
> < that much closer to Rubberman II
goodbye

i also played a little today. I drilled SS mirages a bunch, then did a bunch of SS illusions. I footed silo, hit stefan seigert style super low uptime symp DLOs both sides... i only played for about 40 minutes. it was good to get the legs moving, and they're not feeling sore or anything now because it was such a short session. I tried pointing my toes like Johnny Suderman. it took more energy and thinking than I thought it would.
I'm getting psyched for chilly philly...

So I waited until the night before it was due to start my term paper, and the boredom that set in around hour 4 got me daydreaming about footbag and this post is the result... I must make better use of my solo sessions and just drill more, so I'm going to make my own personal drill list to do every time I practice: (repeats implied)
pickup>illusion could use a little work
fear>plo
dimwalk>blur or parkwalk>ripwalk>blur
spin clip>duck clip
torque>butterfly
paradon>pdx mirage
drifter>whirl
sidewalk>ripwalk
sumo>parkwalk (soon to be sumo>legbeater)
consecutive matadors
blender something something
rubberman
That should cover all of the concepts I want to keep up/get better at. I can do most of them no problem, it's just a matter of string length and making sure I don't get worse at anything. I just realized it's 4:20 am, so I'm gonna do a little imbibing to help me through this hellacious night and then finish this post.
oh, so today (still monday) I hit mobius a couple of times and got 5 consecutive drifters twice, and probably some other neat stuff. i can't remember. that's all for now

dont look at me. . . I'm hideous. .
Chris - you've probably surpassed this already but remember when we were trying to spin out of drifters? Well I did one today. It hurt. It hurt bad.
I think you guys'll like my new abshire. It's breaking in more normally than scowt and it'll probably be very much like steve's lonn bag.
. . .aaaand checkoutmyblog. I've ADDED
yeah I probably won't be doing any real recording of my progress on this blog anymore. I'll just be my annoying self and just ramble on like so. My progress is being recorded on MY OWN captain's log. I'm the captain, baby. Cpt. Pat. Or DJ Pat. All my peeps call me DJ Pat.

reaaaaaally bad session yesterday. I've had this pain under my right knee lately, I'm going to start wrapping it before sessions to keep things in the right place. hopefully, that will help. my diet is still shit, that's probably one of the main reasons I did so poorly yesterday; I didn't play until 4 PM and hadn't eaten. Sooooo maybe I could be preparing for my sessions a little better. I still want to run down to CVS and get some Accelerade like Cameron recommended, I liked how it worked the one time I tried it. I wish I had something interesting and footbag related to write in this post, but they can't all be good sessions, I guess.
okay, here's something good... I'm going to go see an awesome musician in Buffalo tomorrow night (hawksley workman at Club Infinity) and then saturday and sunday I'll be up in kingston hanging and styling with Tom Mosher and some Brantford kickers! that's a good thing
maybe I can take it real easy today and tomorrow and just warm up and stretch and drill, and I'll be in good shape to jam this weekend. Chilly Philly is coming, we're still trying to put plans together.
okay, maybe that's the point of this post... Chilly Philly... Hotel is $119 a night, we can split that easily. Cost is a non-issue because it's going to be so cheap with the amount of people we're going to stuff in the room. Getting to the event is the only thing that needs coordinating. As far as I know, none of the RIT players will be in Rochester for this event. Shady mentioned something about a New Year party at his house in... Jersey? I dunno, Aric told me about it yesterday. I wouldn't be against heading down that way to coordinate with a bunch of people, and then head down as a group.
I also wouldn't be against keeping it low key on new years eve, driving myself, picking up Chris Dean, Pat, and one, maybe two others, and meeting the rest of you when we get down there. I would prefer not to put this hotel room room on my credit card, as I'll be paying rent right around that time of the month, and my account might be stretched a little thin. Who wants to take care of this part of the responsibility? Also, dibs on a bed spot
my preferred way of paying for the room is to divide it among everyone, with the floor sleepers paying half what the bed sleepers pay. If the math gets too complicated, we can always have one of the floor sleepers buy a 12 pack of beer.
So. who's in the room? who has new years plans or ideas for plans? thoughts?

I'll probably want to go with the latter of those plans. Meaning I'll be home in Syracuse doing some fun stuff and then Matt, if you want to swing by when you're going down I'll be good for that.
If I'm driving then I'll most likely be completely broke between the xmas shopping, gas, and the money I will undoubtedly be punting toward stitchers and my possible entrance fee.
This just in. My abshire mini is named Ja (or Jah), named after the rostifarian god. Same as mine only more stylie and with a steel drum and a fun upbeat guitar riff.

chris will pay for the room, but he gets a bed.
sweatshirts, as far as I know, are not happening. we don't have a design, and a thing a big awesome one color design that is quite obviously a picture of a facile 32 panel footbag is necessary. if someone wants to spearhead the sweatshirt issue, I will be more than glad to give my opinion to an annoying degree without actually taking any action
just kidding. all we need is a good design. I suggest big varsity style letters on the front saying "NEVER GIVE UP", and the varsity letters on the back saying ROCHESTER FOOTBAG ASSOCIATION with the big footbag design on the back. let me see if I can find some ideas...
I do a google image search for "footbag". this is the first thing that comes up.

...
and I couldn't find anything I really liked. anyone?
good session with steve at mike A's house. mike a is the man of steel. he kicked footbag, had beers with the coach, played tony hawk for 2 hours, and went back to work at Fuji writing web code at 9 PM. insane. we both played pretty well, I did some clean barrages and one clean jani walker. bedwetter with my weak eggbeater is getting better. I'm not sure if I hit any new moves besides some silly twos (flapper set pickup BSOS first try!). Steve hit ripstein and terraging osis. steve is good at footbag. I hit those symp DLOs I'd been doing both sides first try. all in all, a fun session. I felt pretty in control tonight. and I'm not feeling sore or beat up, so I should be good for kingston...

I got up and made breakfast today, egg sandwich and juice. at least I've eaten something. I don't plan on playing today, as my afternoon is pretty full, but if I remember, I'll do some stretching. i have to buy 2 pairs of lavers for tom and one of his friends for the jam tomorrow. i'm going to get to play with johnny suderman for the first time since Funtastik '03, and some of the Toronto players as well. Me and tom are going to party it down. We'll try and take more pictures this time.
gr, my time is going to take a little budgeting today... buy lavers, burn demo CD, buffalo tonight... I guess there's enough time for that. and to get to the bank to cash my check. and make phone calls.
busy busy!

fuck... the inside material on G6's are horrible. and by horrible I mean great for play, but very fragile.
When I first modified these guys, I slipped up while cutting out the bottom eyelets on my left shoe and cut about an inch into the fabric on the inside stalling surface. You guys may have seen the stitches from when I fixed it.
But it keeps spreading because the material tears easily... even putting a needle and thread through it comprimises its strength. Now the hole is fucking HUGE. I tried using superglue to cover the stitches so they wouldnt break, but all that did was cause it to tear around the glued spots.
I need a patch or something, or else find a new left g6. Does anyone know of a good local shoemaker?
And we should play soon.

Tonight's session was indeed long. Hit a new set, and a few new moves. I hit pigbeater but as i anticipated the illusion was the. I hit PS whirl 3 times but at least 2 of them the dex didnt happen but one of them might have ben clean none of of us could tell. Matador is becoming very easy to hit even midstring. The new set i hit was inside set pixie, hit ss butterfly and op mirage out of it so far. I broke my ripwalk record as well up to 7 now, also i managed to hit the wonton legover that me and matt have been trying, which he has hit several time of course .
As for a session on sunday im good all day, i figure somewhere around 2 in building 1, in the lounge with the "art" chairs.

paradon steve? damn. Mid-string? I think I'd be able to hit it mid-string. I base this on absolutely nothing, of course, except for the fact that my legs tend to have incredible accuracy and speed in mid-string without me really trying. Oh well. I tend to forget to try double dexes in the middle of a nice string that I'm pleased with. I just like to dwell on the fact that I just did the last move correctly. That's something I need to improve on and it'll come as soon as I finish phase 1 of my drilling process. What is phase 1, you may ask? Well you'll just have to check my blog sometime in the near future to see what it is.
