I'm surprised that until Chris noone has mentioned german beer. It must
be because most of the beers that get exported to other countries is
bullcrap, like Loewenbraeu. You can get that shit in any part of the world,
and it's the worst beer in Munich.

If Bavarians know one thing, then it's how to make good beer. Nowhere
else in the world can you find so many breweries. There's so many
awesome microbreweries here with delicious stuff.

HE munich beer is Augustinerbräu though, and you will have a hard time
finding it anywhere outside Munich and its surroundings.

The best beer in the world though has not been mentioned yet:

GUINNESS

and I'm not talking about Guinness draught, or even that bottled
crap Guinness which is carbonated (!)

You haven't drunk a real Guinness if you haven't been to a village pub
somewhere in Ireland. Joe Crain will back me up on this.

i´m really in netherland beer like sergey said, GROLSCH. or HEINEKEN or AMSTEL. sooo tasty.

í´d also recommend, that you all check out some good pils! nothing goes about this type of beer. no shitty waterbeer like these americantypes, like budweiser. i mean REAL BEER FOR REAL MEN!!! mauahaha. oh and yeah, czech beer is good, not just by the flavour, but the price convinces.

and i have to say, that i hate all these mutant beers. desperados or others, that are a mix between beer and other alc. like tequila. everytime i drink a bit of desperados it tastes like puke. baah.

for sure. and sadly it's every where. i forgot to mention my all time fav. killkenny irish cream ale. so good! very similar to guiness, but a little lighter, as in you don't have to chew it.

Tui`s not that bad. Maybe I just have good memories of the times when I drank it. I`ll try and judge objectively in like, 10 days.

Surprising that nobody has mentioned Jack Lentz`s beer. hacky sack jack makes good beer. As for other footbagger beer, I`ve also drunk `devil brew,` which was super strong. Sebastien`s original recipe.

I have never had any good tasting beer, unless you count non-alcoholic ginger beer. I have a question for you guys, if beer did not get you drunk, would you still drink it? I mean, is there beer that tates really good, or is it just that some are more tolerable than others.

Yes I would definitly still drink it - infact most beer I drink is expensive beer that I don't really drink to get drunk but rather to enjoy the beer. (getting drunk is just a bonus

)

Beer is an aquired taste - don't expect to take a sip of a beer and immediatly love the taste. I guess it's like lots of things - show a video of footbag to somebody who has never seen it before and unless it's really simple they won't understand it at all. Show the same video to someone like me - and I could still tell you what moves are being hit if you removed the bag.

Once you have a taste for beer and have tried out lots of different kinds - I think you'll definitly find that some beers taste amazing and others taste like piss.

It's also important to look at what kind of beer you are buying and what you are buying it in. Lots of beers go stale if you don't drink them soon enough after they were brewed. Also some kinds of beers - ie. lagers - are made to be kegged - so will taste really good at a pub (from the tap) but not so good from a bottle. Other beers are made to be bottled - so do taste good in a bottle. There are obviously exceptions to this - but not very many.

Some beers are best to be drunk while eating or at a particular temperature. It's sometimes good to research the beer you are buying before drinking it. Well it depends how much you are into it I guess.

Beer should never ever ever be drunk from a can!

um those are my opinions anyway - I could be wrong.

I'm not a huge beer drinker (or very much of a drinker at all), but when I do drink I enjoy Moosehead Dry Ice. I really want to try that Sleemans Honey Brown, it sounds tasty! Sleeman isnt bad stuff from what I remember having out at dinner a couple of times.

AMEN to ebo for saying guiness!!! being in an irish family ive pretty much been around guiness my whole life and i would have to say outa the beers ive had that is the best...i would have to say the worst beer ever would have to be killians...just horrible..absolutly horrible...

I can't say I'm a fan of Guinness - although I can see why people like it - I much prefer clear "crisp" beers.

Having read what people said in this topic - I've been trying out Pilsner Urquell and have to say I'm pretty impressed!! I havn't drunk a lot of Pilsner style beers but I definitly like them. I guess though that the thing is that it was the first pilsner style beer - and while it says a lot that it is still a popular beer today - I think it's more than likely that there are other pilsner's that have improved on the style - so I'll have to try out more pilsners. It's very hard to find others though - Stella and Urquell are sold in most bottle shops - but not many others.

Yea I had some imported in bottles the other day, had a kinda nasty bite. I could almost imagine what it would taste like on tap though.....

When buying beer in bottles - check the dates on the carton or bottle - the newer the beer is the better it will be and the further away the expiary date the better. Also never buy beer in cans. If you follow that than there is a good chance that a good beer will still taste well in a bottle or off the tap. Probably when Andrew talks about how much better Pilsner Urquell is on tap - the experience of being in Prague etc. is effecting his judgement.

Anyway I had a great beer the other day - James Squire Pilsner. All James Squire beers are quality beers I think. It was fairly strong flavoured and citrusy but with a touch of honey (not phsyical honey in it - just the taste). Definitly a strong hops flavour too. But unlike some strong flavoured beers - it was very easy to drink and tasty!

Just wanted to give a quick write up on a beer I tried today:

Actually I can't remember the brewer - which is pretty shit of me - but I'll try another of their beers tomorrow and take the bottle home so I can tell you!

anyway it was Lime Chilli Beer

It was actually pretty tasty - strong lime flavour but with a spicy chilli aftertaste. I have a theory that chillies go well with everything - and the fact that I have now tasted chilli beer gives that theory more strength.

I don't know if I'd drink it very often - but it was definitly worth trying - I'm pretty sure it doesn't get exported outside my state either

I like to keep my beers simple. You won't watch me sipping mango beers, or chilli / spices / peach beer for that matter. You can get good local beer anywhere in the world. Everyone'll no doubt chime in about how great their own local beer is, but frankly I've found that you can get pretty similar beer almost anywhere.

Then some countries have their trademarks. The Aussies are big beer drinkers, and most beers you'll find on tap in most pubs are perfectly dine beers. The English love their beer and have all sorts of fine ales / stouts etc... The candians swear by their very own Molson light, and right they should

We've good good beer in mot of Europe also with a special mention for Belgium probably beer capital of the World

Anywa I can't remember what I wanted to say, something along the lines of:
I like beer.
I like wine too and am learning to appreicate that also.. not the same
