I'm sorry about the compression, I'm still new to video editing/compression methods..
I tried to put it in DIVX but the image always looks really bad, or some blue lines cover the video in transparency..
I'm going to work it out as soon as I get some time, or at least, before my next videos..

Yeah I figured the symp butterfly was a bail but it still looked cool - I mentioned Anssi because of some opinions he wrote about the move at flipsider forum (that he hates it - but it was a little more detailed than that)
I think you need to accept that most people don't like their own style. I don't know why this is - I guess it's the same as not liking your own voice on TV and things like that.
Personally I thought Ellis' style looked awesome - I think I'd put him in my top 3 favourite styles (Ryan, Ales, Ellis) although it's hard to say. Definitly this vid was no exception.
I guess there is a run where you hit something like whirl>pdx whirl>ripwalk>ripwalk - where the sets on the ripwalks had too much sideways movement - but all the rest of the stepping looked good - and I think that's more of a technical thing than a style thing - I guess they overlap a bit.

Yee haw! you kids look like you have so much fun!
Claudia's sick run was the highlight for me, though marc's 6-dex was mind blowing.
I remember thinking, "holy shit, eli can fucking bust!" and then I felt dumb for being surprised at first by how good we was.
Actually, the whole way through the movie I kept being really surprised by how good everyone was. All the shredders have very distinct and exact styles.
I thought that Nick had some really cool combos that oozed with style. Again, the word exact feels appropriate, your sets and stuff are so clean and pretty.
The editing was done really well and I have to disagree with what some of the others have said about disliking the recycled footage. The teaser video they put out was a teaser video! the point of those is to show you cool stuff that is in the real video so you will want to watch the real video.
If the teaser didnt contain any footage from the video it would be like a car commercial for baby wipes.

Thanks for kind words. I guess my style isnt so bad after I see a bit more of it, but its still like a 4 on 10 in my books. Looks like I shuffle alot in this video, which is weird, becuase I dont normally really shuffle that much.. I think.
I cant wait to see that vid Eli! I know we had some cool stuff during the metro shred, and you always have alot random footage I have no idea where you get.
And thought you looked fine on the video, I REALLY liked your zoid midstring, perfect execution. Your symposium whirls are great too!

Being critical is only good when it is constructive and helpful. Telling somebody `90% of what you did looked dirty` doesn`t help them improve at all. You should be more specific when criticizing somebody, or else its hard for them to know what you think needs improvement. If you had said:comastalker wrote:Feared I'll be the only one that critzises your style...
well I'm always the bad guy ain't I, so to sum it up briefly :
-> 90% of what you did in the vid looked dirty to me
-> no, you don't always play this way, in fact you do alot of moves alot cleaner
don't be offended, to be critical is always better than to praise you, I'm just kicking you towards godlikeness
...it would have been somewhat vague, but he`d know what you were talking about. What would have been even better is if you referred to specific moves or combos, or listed at what time it happened on the video.comastalker wrote: Your ducks looked a little bit thin.
I recognize that maybe you didn`t have the time to do this, but when posting criticism, it`s better to take your time and make good, constructive criticism, than to risk offending somebody.comastalker wrote: The duck on your second mullet (2:27) looked a little deeper.
On a similar note, I always appreciate specific compliments (nice symposium swirling ss legover!) more than general ones (ken is sexy).

Before this goes further, I'd like to put it to rest. Richard Vock, thanks for trying to help (though you could have been more specific and/or constructive). Jeremy, thanks for your support and respect- I'm honored to be one of your favorite players (er, styles, if they're separate in this case). Ken, thanks for prodding Richard to be constructive rather than vague and disrespectful, not just for me but anyone in the future.

You hate me for that? You might want to rephrase that next time, unless you actually take things that seriously.
Cheers,

Ah geez, my bad. I hadn't even realised that the first video was a teaser.SantaMosh wrote:The editing was done really well and I have to disagree with what some of the others have said about disliking the recycled footage. The teaser video they put out was a teaser video!
In that case, it's all good.
Also, I'd haev to agree with Jeremy, that the only thing I noticed from Ellis was the sideways ripwalks. And even so, that kinda stuff doesn't bother me...thin ducks and dexes bother me a lot more than "slurry" stuff or whatever you want to call it.
Ellis is still the man.
