I had a short session today by myself... sorry I didn't have time to drive to RIT. However, I was playing in the gym and got lots of passers-by to stare at me. Two guys were really interested and asked for my email address. They told me that they always hacked with a group of people, and they'd be interested in freestyle... but from experience, I know I'd be lucky if any of them stuck with it. Here's hoping.

bad / slow session today with new lavers, but a few interesting things happened... I hit 2 more symp flurries, one low but clean, the other distinctly clean, another fury, another rev swirling blender, zulu mirage... I dunno, that might be it. New lavers suuuuuuuck. they need some serious pavement time to wear them down and break them in. they're kinda tight, too... this is my first time trying size 8.5 lavers. hopefully they'll stretch out and do what my foot wants them to.

time to... whatever. something...

Hey Matt,
I figured out why my right laver hurt so bad.

Remember when you tossed my old insole in the trash I asked you where the other one was?

Yeah.. it was still in my shoe.

My new lavers fit great, thanks Matt.

i rocked out on my organ this morning, a great way to start the day!

i solo'd in my basement today. worked on infinities and my flipside pixie.. which is making about the same progress as a retarded child in calculus. but i hit a few smears, parkwark, and a few dimwalks out of it, and a pixie osis.

i miss playing outside

Have you hit smear bsos and stuff from it? Or is that old news by now. . Just wondering.

I'll see if I can shred today after a concert I've got to go to at a lounge. It'll be pretty late so I doubt I'll be able to do things. Need to keep going though with my schedule so I don't flip out on myself during the break when I get tired too easily and can't do anything. . Like last time.

My house is anti-footbag but I'll see if I can move some stuff around in my basement so I can skool like usual. Wait a second. I just realized something. Why am I writing this? No one cares. And yet I still type. And more. And more. Casual typing is the best kind of typing. This is a journal so I should be logging things that are on my mind regarding footbag. So that's what I'm doing. Oh okay. Now I get it. Sorry never mind. I answered my own question. Out loud.

I'm pretty sure Kenny Shults' father is Zeus. In the days of old, Kenny was atop Mount Olympus showering the pathetic mortal world below him with double inspinning mirages and spinning paradons.

me and pat played in my basement for a little bit today. no music, but its chilly down there and smells like mold. started playing normally, stretched and all.. then i did a few drifters and tried a few paradons with my left leg and i felt an awful pain my hip flexor/groin area. i continued to play doing only tricks i could hit that wouldnt put strain on my left leg, but it hurt even to kick with the leg. pat was spinnin like a mofo and i wanted to keep playing but eventually i had to stop. it still hurts when i lift the leg and do a pixie motion slowly, i don't know what the problem is but i can only hope it goes away... fast. :x

I'm 75% going but I can't go with y'all. I'll be there as soon as I can on the first and then I'll leave as soon as I grow weary of all the biz. Still need to chat with Greg Pestillo about it all but I'm sure he'll be good to go. He and I are going to kick the bag around a few times while I'm home so that he can "get ready" for Chilly.

I took my intro to Theater final today and I had to write the word football. I wrote footbag and then crossed it out and then wrote it again. I'm not too sure if I've told you guys I do that now (it definitely hasn't been the first) . . I just think it's really funny because I used to spell football when trying to spell footbag.

who is all going? matt, steve, chris, aric + friend = definites
andrew, paul, pat, brian c = possibles

I'm leaving for philly the morning of Jan 1st. Matt, Aric, Steve, Friend are going down together on the 31st I assume? If any of those possibles are going, they're more than welcome in my car.

who is staying in our room?

I'm calling the hotel tomorrow to get the room, and I'll make sure that you guys can check in without me there. I think the best way to take care of the room costs is for the rochester definites to split the damage, and then everyone else staying in our room can buy us beer or breakfast or give us each $10... or something, like we've done before.

who is driving,

I'm driving. I'm planning on leaving Roch early in the morning. Company would be appreciated...

oh fuck. I've still got to get my car inspected... I just got it back on the road after my accident on the way home from EC, and I don't know if they'll pass it. So I guess my going is still a maybe.

what day is everyone going?

I'll be there on the 1st, and of course I can take people back if we want to leave at different times on Sunday.

okay, so Aric and friend are coming with me on the 31st. Who else will be riding from roch to philly with us? I have room for 1 more.

Tom Mosher and Josh Gayhart are sleeping on the floor, and I wouldn't be surprised if others end up doing so as well.

I also have to get my car inspected. and I also spell footbag when trying to write football. it makes me laugh.

James Hermey just PMed me. He's coming to visit this weekend, on saturday, so we'll have to have a late afternoon session. The conference rooms in the SAU at RIT at 5 works for me.

bring money, as I expect him to bring some quality footbags for sale. and pat and steve, bring extra money, because you owe it to me ;) and I need it to buy a footbag and food.

We will be partying at my house for a little bit after the session, then going out to dinner at MacGregor's, 3 doors down from my house. If anyone wants to join, you're all welcome. MacGregor's has good food, and my house RULES. well, not really, but we won't be hanging there for too long. it's got a couch and a chair and a few rooms and a few stereos. that's a good start...

I'm pretty psyched. james is an awesome guy, and a good freestyler with some CRAZY frigid tricks. Get ready for the cranked ankle posse to be in full effect.

James is definitely a cool guy. I'm not sure if we will beable to use the conference rooms on saturday though. RIT might close down on that day, but if it does we can kick here at my apartment again. I think RIT doesn't close down until sunday morning, but im not positive I ll try to look into to tomorrow. The earlier we have this session the better I need to be home fairly early on sat. I might not beable to kick if its to late in the day.

Guys I made the reservation, but I told them we would need two beds, and the price went up from 119 to 159 a night. With tax and everything, it came to about $350 for both nights. Divided between 6 people (matt, steve, me, aric, friend) that's about $59. With pat (are you coming?) it's 50. Divided between 9 people (us 7 plus tom and josh) it's 38. et cetera

So it'll probably cost us between 60 and 40 each. Shall we keep the bed, or is this too expensive for everyone?

Oh, and we cannot arouse the slightest suspicion that there are a lot of people staying in the room. I was told on the phone that we'd have to get a second room if there were more than four people. bgaw

we should definitely keep the second bed. that extra $40 or so per night between all of us will round out to only a few more bucks each, so no big. too bad, though. oh well. still cheap. I bet we can get some more floormongers for some extra bucks. we'll see. it will be fine. thanks for taking care of that shit, chris. did you tell them I'd be checking in on the first night?
