Please help the IFPA out - without them many of us would never have found out about footbag or be playing it now (I certainly wouldn't be) and they do a lot of stuff for the sport!!
If I've understood correctly, all the money IFPA gets, goes to organizing Worlds (67%) and helping keep Footbag Worldwide up un running (33%).
I didn't donate anything, but two weeks ago I paid $150 US to become a lifetime IFPA member. A good way to help out is by signing up for IFPA membership. Its only $10 US / year, thats nothing. And for us using EURO, that really is nothing. Almost all the competitors who entered the Finnish nationals two weeks ago, paid the IFPA one-year fee, why don't you all do the same.
Yeah that's good Johnny - I was planning on doing the same thing. And maybe also auctioning off a footbag once a month where all the funds would go to the IFPA (and postage).
I think we really need people to ba passionate about helping to create a future of this sport - not just passionate about playing the sport (although I understand that lots of people don't have the time or the money to be too active in helping the IFPA - I'm not criticising - I just think we need a lot more people like Steve if we are to make this sport grow into something widely recognised and appreciated).
If I could even afford food for myself, I would donate, but what I can do is donate some profits from selling bags to the IFPA, that I can do.
The ol' topic of manufacturing some sort of "Lance Armstrong"-ish braclet/anklet sounds like a good way for the IFPA to recieve money. The proceeds would go to the IFPA and shipping of course. I guarantee if whoever did something like this, a private party, or even the IFPA themselves, would generate a lot of $$$ cause I would throw down like $5-$10-$15 in a heartbeat for a cool item that represents me as a footbagger who supports his/her sport, especially if that party asked us footbaggers at Modified or even surveys at tournaments for our imput on the item, how it would look, text, engraving, whatever. I would buy a lot of them, and sell them to people around here, and give ALL of the money to the IFPA, even to people who don't play footbag, because people like to support good causes, and this is a very good one.
Sorry kinda went off there, but does this sound viable to our situation? Could something like this work?
