Footbag Mile-Stones

Post by Omen »

I was just wondering what people consider footbag's biggest mile-stones, both personal and as a sport in general.

Like moves that you thought you might never achieve, dreamed about since the begining, or called up everyone in the phone book after hitting it. Somthing very important that you felt up'd your player level status so to speak.

Like, I know for me a few were Mirage Infinity, Smear, Ripwalk, TapDown, Swirl and just recently Eggbeater.

And I think as a sport, Mirage, Ripwalk, Torque, Eggbeater would be a few of em.
Its all or nothing

My personal mile-stones have been...
Illusion (my first dex-trick :S)
clip set DLO (first 2dex trick)
EDIT: (how could I forget?) Meeting Felix Zenger!! (my mentor)
Dimwalk (my first trick out of a set)
Ripwalk (it took a long time to learn stepping properly)
Pdx Torque (my first 5 adder)
Dimmiest (my first 3dex)
Marius (my first 6 adder)
Janiwalker > Pdx Torque > Pdx Blender (first 5-5-5)

I think that General milestones are:
first stall
first Clipper stall
first 1dex
first 2 dex
first 3 dex
first 5 adder
first 6 adder
first 5-5-5

that's about it...

I think these were the big milestones for me:

First 5 add - phoenix

first 10 unique tripless
assassin>dimwalk>ripwalk>blur>parkwalk>sidewalk>ripwalk>blur>legbeater>ps whirl

First 5>5>5
phoenix>matador>ps whirl

Scorpion's Tail

First 7 add
Nuclear Symp DLO (O'Wheely)

Those are things that personally stood out - I guess there are others but I didn't really see them as big milestones at the time.

I think my biggest milestone was when I leared osis>infinity. After I got that both sides my game got so much better. My best, that I like was diving clipper>zulu clipper> repeat. And of course, ripwalk>ripwalk.

My milestones would have to be:

Getting lavers
Watching budasbest for the first time
hitting mirage>legover>mirage
Going to my first shred get together (BCS: GOOD TIMES,GOOD TIMES)
Hitting 40 tiltless
getting others into it.

hmmm....milestones....

i would say that my first butterfly>infinity was pretty huge at the time
also the first time i caught spinning in clipper instead of on my toe

ooh the biggest of the last year was being able to duck my pixie AND stepping in the same run...HUGE!

I'm going to go about this like anssi did:

Mirage (my first dex-trick)(First 2) Pixie(Second two add)
Butterfly (First 3 Add) Smear (first 2dex trick)(2nd three?)
Dimwalk (my first trick out of a set)(First 4) Symp Whirl (2nd 4 add)
Pixie Symp Rev Whirl (my first 5 adder) Pheonix (2nd 5 add)
Pixie Tap (my first 3dex) Smog (2nd 3 dex)
Pixie Symp Rev Whirling Xbody Rake (my first 6 add) Pixie Ducking Symp Rev Whirl (2nd 6 add) Mullet (3rd 6 add) Mofly (4th?)
Pixie Mofly (1st and only 7 add, though debatable for cleanliness) O yeah, and my first 4 dex.
Pixie Symp Rev Whirl > PS Whirl (first 5-5) Pixie Paradon > PS Whirl (2nd 5>5)
26 guiltless (Atom Smasher > Butterfly > Pdx Mirage > Smear > Butterfly > Pdx Mirage > Atom Smasher > Butterfly > Osis > Pdx Mirage > Butterfly > Ripwalk > Ripwalk > Osis > Pdx Mirage > Butterfly > Infinity > Pdx Mirage > Smear > Symp Mirage > Dimwalk > Osis > pdx Mirage > Paradon > Osis > Pdx Mirage)
6 Tripless (Atom Smasher > Bs Smear > Paradon > PS Mirage > Paradon > Pdx Whirl)

Mobius was a fun one
Atom Smasher > Atom Smasher
Legbeater Bsos (I remember when I had so much trouble with them on their own)
2 triple dex moves (Pixie tap and Pixie Barrage) in the same run

Well thats all really. I probably have more, but that'd take forever.

O yeah, and one final note: I thought my first 5 add was pixie torque, but it was actually a pixie refraction, which is not the same. And I thought my first 6 add was pogo pdx dada curve, though the stepping set was so slurry that you may have mistaken it for a smashed bug on your car windshield it was so bad. Yeah, so that doesn't count either.
