Clima Cool III

Yo!
I know this thread might exist somewhere, but I didn't found my unswer there..
Well, I've found those climas for 70€ with 50% of reduction!! It's still very expensive, but I don't think I'll find cheaper in Paris..
So does anyone have those III?? The sole seems HUGE... Like there is around 8 cm of sole... I have huge feet so Toe is not a problem... I've cut my toe box on my Lavers...
Climas users, tell me more about those soles pleez..

How much of the time do you spend on your heels when shredding?

I find these shoes very encouraging of playing on your toes, I never have the heel touching the ground when I play.

I have Climacool II's that I love, I think the shoe is certainly not for everyone however.

If you dislike comfort, grip, confidence and bounce in your step then avoid these at all costs.

I really don't understand what you mean by there being too much sole, are you saying this in comparison to Lavers?

If you have any other questions I am willing to answer them.

My advice, if you want new shoes... GO FOR IT!!!
If you aren't happy with lavers it is very easy to find a ample substitute. Clima Cools or whatever. Just go to a local athletic shoe store and look around. I bet there are some track and field shoes that would be great for shred just waiting to be found.
And you can always go back to lavers. (I've been thinking about it)

However if you are lucky enough to feel great in lavers there is no need to change.

Well, I've never counted, but I guess not that much.. I've killed my last pair of lavers in 2 mounthes and a half, cause I was playing too much in tiptoe...

Thx for your advices, I like pretty much my lavers, but I often have strange pains in my legs.. and I think the giant Air stuff in the sole might resolve those problems... I've tryed them a few minutes in the shop, I really had the feeling to walk on a mattress..
I think I have a very few days to decide, there is only one pair in reduction.. I don't know what to do!! The sole is enormous!!
Still no Clima III users???

I think Brad Nelson has III's, though they are not significantly different from II's in this regard.

I would recomend buying them. If you don't wind up liking them better than your lavers then at least you have a great new pair of running shoes.

Sorry, I made a typo. I meant heel. I'm studying French, but I should probably study English a little longer first.

I have clima originals too and they are very good for freestyle. The III's sole is just too bulky. Granted I've never seen II's, but if you think they are good for freestyle, than they are probably more like the originals than the 3rd model. You have to feel these shoes to understand how big the heel is.

yeah, go for the climacools!
i've recently got some climacools II from e-bay, because my shins are killing me. and they have the best cushioning i've ever seen before...
you can jump much higher with those shoes!!
i also heard that climacools III are much easier to modify, sine the ones i have are pretty hard to modify and i'm still not really done yet...

so have fun shredding in climacools, i think it's definately worth it. if you don't like yours then you've still got a wonderful running shoe!

Hey Charles !
there's an interesting thread about clima cools in general on the 3rd
page of this section...i probably read it ten times myself, before
i got me a pair.
I work for footlocker, and so i got a discount on the climas, which were reduced anyway, but i didnt try em out too much, before i've bought em.
Huge mistake. They are very well cushioned, a major plus, and all the
standart stalling areas are good too. Your feet get fresh air all the time
and the mesh of the shoe gives you a nice, new feeling for the bag.
So, in general i'd say : get them, they're great, but try em out, as much as you can before buying them.
My problem with clima 3 is the instep ; i have big flat feet (us 12,5 !) and
the instep really bothered me when i was shredding... i tried different
soles, spencos, no sole at all : clima 3 and me dont go 2gether

THe other flaw is the overall "hugeness" of the shoe, at least if u have my size, the are big and bulky and i cant manouver my feet as well as i can in lavers, i feel like king kong wearing a spaceship for a shoe, if u get me...
But i indeed own a new pair of stylish running shoes, that go very well
with my black and red hives shirt, so i dont regret that investment too much.
By a streak of luck i could get hold of a pair of the original climas, and
they seem to be the right shoe for me : there are even lighter than
lavers but have this wonderfull cushioning system.. i ll mod them a bit,
and then i should be as happy with them as mosher is about his climas.

Ok, thx again for those good answers..
I've read them many times, and the conclusion is, I hope, that Clima III is not good for Freestyle.. I'll go back to the store tomorrow to be sure, but I don't think I'll buy them.. maybe if I find cheap Originals on ebay I'll buy them..

2 Verena, nice to know that you've started to play with climas!! Have you been playing for a long time with them?? What has basicly changed in your game?? If you had to choose one pair of shoes for your all life, which one would you choose? end of the interrogation. (nice to meet you there..)

hmm...i've played around four times in my climas. they are really good for my legs and that's why i hope i start to love them soon. because my legs hurt so much, i don't wanna play in lavers anymore.
in climas my strings are a lot shorter, but i hope that will change soon...
the funny thing is that they are lighter than lavers...so the dexes are very fast...
i've also heard that g-units are pretty good.
you shoudl check out some other shoes...after shredding with climacools it's pretty obvious for me that lavers have no cushioning at all. it's as if you were playing with some wooden shoes...

Yeah, not to beat a dead horse, but I went back to Lavers for a bit from my CT300s and have once again made the switch back to the alternative shoes. No cushioning and support!! I have very good posture and footwork as a player, and I nearly tripped using those Lavers so many times!

You may not ending up liking them as much, but give other shoes a chance -- don't neglect them from your game.

I have been working on finding a suitable laver replacement. I find that lavers hurt my body too much. Landings are too harsh and they don't rebound you into the next trick.

Also, the biggest difference I find in any laver alternative is SUPERIOR GRIP! Grip plays such a huge role in shred performance!
It allows you to have confidence that your feet won't slip and it removes a variable from the game. I found this to be the hugest advantage to my climas, and with the climas the added grip gives a more rooted foundation for the springyness of the shoe.

I am a huge fan of my climas, I even found the steps involved in modding them to be quite fun! I love a good project.

There are lots of shoes out there that are as good or better than lavers. Check out some G-Units and some CT 520's too. I played in some totally unmodded 520's and it was a blast! They have great stalling areas right out of the box, though most people mod them.

Good luck in your seach Charles, I hope you find a shoe that suits your needs.
