WAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIITTTTTT... I got like a 2-3 pound milk box of 6,000 BBs for like 5 buck at richard's (or dick's) it's not bad. Go for copperhead bb's. Really good. it's like 1/8 for copperplateds. Not bad.
I also use glass seed beads from Joann's fabric store. For now, it's like 75 cents for 20-30 grams. Enough for one bag.

yeh lead is toxic, but not all bb's are made of lead, so you could use some none lead ones. Oh yeh and LittleBoy footbag are you sitching, if so I'd love to see some of your bags...

Whoa, I'm really late fot his one, but yes. I've stitched some 4 panels before but I gave them all to my friends because i though they were crap for freestyle. Now, I'm trying to stitch 32s. The pattern's a little difficult but that nothing a christmas vacation can solve!

If any of you are 32 stitchers out there, how long does it take for Field's Fabrics to ship their facile? I ordered mine about two weeks ago and it never came.

Lead is Toxic... well lead is really the best material to play freestyle... much better than anything else...
I use lead without "Arsenic".. I'm not a chimist, so I don't know what about arsenic (I should give a look on internet), but I guess it might be THE bad thing of lead...
I've done last week a "blood test" to see how much lead I have in my vains, and Fred will do one soon I hope... just to see how contaminated we already are...
hmmm... yeah, everyboda sais how toxic it is but (maybe I'm stupid) I don't think it may cause some seriuos harm, as long as I don't eat my footbag...

Anyways, on a more serious note, I think Lonn Irirsh posted HERSELF that lead is a bad idea b/c the lead is absorbed into your sweat when you shred............then I PMed her about BBs. I htink it's roughly the same sixe and weight so why not use those? It's a decently competent substitute!
Seems to me that anyone kneading a lead filled bag to break it in stands to get lead in their system.
My Mini Abshire and Lonn Irish are both filled with steel shot(and plastic pellets), I beleive its #7 size and can be found on that site in the first post. Neither of them have any rust, because I don't let them stay damp, which is bad for the fabric as well.
I don't hand knead my Fred T bag anymore, when I got it it hardly needed breaking in though anyway.

Yeah, lead paint used to exist, now it's forbidden cause a lot of kids growing in those apartments had "lead poisoning".. just living in the room.. What do you put in your bags Mr henryG??? What is their weight???

Well, for me, I use a combination of Crosman BBs and various plastic pellets from old bags whihc add to the all around balance. If too many BBs are in tehre, I don't like it cuz it's too heavy. If there are too many plasticx beads in there, it stoo shitty. I just use the right blanace to suit my self. of course, this is my test bag i'm talking about. It may all change when my facile comes....if it ever.
yeah the risk from lead poisoning from a footbag is very small. Even from living in houses with lead paint for 30 years - you still have a very small risk - same thing with the exaust from leaded petrol.
However I think it's a needless risk - non lead pellets aren't any harder or more expensive than lead pellets - but don't have that risk.
There is a good chance that you could fill your footbags with lead for 20 years and put them in your mouth all the time and not be effected - but it only takes one person to get fucked up by it for you to feel really bad - I just don't think it's worth the risk.

Just like Herpers and other STIs. it;s not worth all the Jiffy Pop in the world. Jerem's right. If YOU shove the lead pellets into your mouth repeatedly without any poisoning, it's good for you. but once another guy touches that bag and dies from l.p, then you're not only fucked, you feel like shit too.
