Making the facile thinner is just what you don't want to do. If you can break it in slowly without much friction and retain the thickness, then you will have a bag that will last a while past break-in. A thin footbag will get holes all over the place. That's why when people break bags in too fast and hard they last such a short amount of time.

dose it matter if u use cold or hot water in washing your bags?

i read over this hole thread and didnt really see any thing on finger break in, yes it has been mentiond, but not how you do it.
Matt cross told me to use my fingers and push and do it evenly, thus spining the bag doing one side spining doing that spin diganal, finger it up and spin the bag. he said DO NOT palm the bag/roll in any way. this makes the life time of ur bag much less and pinchs the it an rolls and hurts the fabric, im even thinking uneven break in. maybe this one mentions, i missed it if it was and am sorry.

when i got my felix it waighed 36 grams, it waighs 30 now... whats with that, there is alot of shit that falls out durring while i as breaking it in but i dont know what to do about geting it back up to waight.... :*( she didnt need a diet.

in winnipeg, we are lazy. we put our bags into the pockets of our jeans and run them through the washing machine on a cold cycle and then into the dryer on low tumble dry. derek has done it to his lonn probably every week since worlds, and the bag STILL looks brand new. i have done it numerous times to my Freddy T and the bag comes out with super bright colours, much brighter then when i hand wash it. some thing to think about...

I'm new to washing a footbag. What does it do besides make it look clean? Mine has gone through the wash just and Andrew mentioned. I got worried the first time cause I thought it'd hurt it but it was fine!

Mine's a jar, some good soap, warm or cold water and a not-yet-broken-in footbag. I put the bag in water to soak and get all water possible, put it in a jear of water and then soap. I seal the jar and shake it, shake it, shake it like a polaroid picture (That's right, I like Outkast) and let soak for a couple hours.......it's like a lab in my house to find the perfect break-in bag.....

I jsut toss them into the washer without putting them in the pockets of jeans, and they come out fine. Machine wash, cold. Tumble dry.

And after awhile, it breaks in the bag?? My abshire took quite a long time to break in. I'm ordering a new one. Should I try this method to break it in? And how many times should i do this?

I think Tsiangkun was reffering to a method of washing bags not breaking them in, but it might help break it in too.

heres how i made my bag really soft and stallable. ussually i wet it before i went to shred. but then after a few hours it would get kindly hard. so i tried this:

puting water in a bowl
soak the footbag for around a minute
adding fabric softener and soaking for about 30 second.
then taking it out and drying it off and then reapeting the proccess.

its kindof a combination of things that ive read on this thread!

but now it feels really good and soft

oh yeah, sleep with it under your pillow or in your hand!!!!

BREAK IN:
1=Finger rub and pull gently and evenly on every single seem while you watch TV. It takes about a half an hour for the inition break in pulling the seems apart as much as you can. A poorly made bag will break during this stage so be care full but pull hard at every seem until you can see the stitches.
2=Just throw in in with your laundry(45minutes)
3=Don't put in Dryer(but if you do it does NOT ruin the bag at all)
4=Repeat step one while it's still wet and supple but be much more gentle this time.
5=Shred while it's still slightly damp(but try superfly or shaft )
6=2 or 3 sessions later throw it in the wash with your clothes again in a sock or just loose
7=roll it around in between your hands vigorously but gently and then set it on the carpet to dry overnight
8=roll it around vigorously everytime before you shred

This technique works on all bags.
9=Oil and hot water on your hands and roll in circles with a dry bag to make it stronger and more moist, Dry bags tear and wear unevenly.

HOLES:
Elmer's Fix All Glue(Toothpaste like tube)
1=find hole and squeeze beads to that side of bag in one hand
2=touch top of tube to hole
3=squeeze gently until glue oozes out the sides all over the whole
4=set glue down
5=scrape off all the glue with a plastic spoon or piece of cardboard.(It is important to scrape off as much glue as possible from around the edges of the hole)
6-=set bag down in the sun hole facing up so that beads fall away from glue
7=some beads may be stuck to glue after drying, so pinch the hole with your fingers hard enough to force the beads off the glue you might even need to use your finger nails to get the beads unstuck..

I think having thin layers of Fix All glue on almost every panel of the bag helps the weight and grip of the bag.

Is it safe to put facile in the dryer?

Is there a way to srink a bag? I thought the dryer might do this?

Dryers dry out the leather too much. It doesn't shrink the bag but it makes the leather brittle.

I have three bags rotating i sleep on them it helps just throw em underneath ya and sleep it works good also play a lot i havent had to wash em yet
