oh yeah, and I don't care if I am the only one that feels this way, I can't frigging stand Vasek's beatboxing!! Am I the only one that thinks he has no rhythm? It sounds like he is just doing a demo of wierd noises he can make with no common thread uniting them other than their source. Not to rag on the guy publicly, this is my personal bitch space right?

What the hell do I know, he may be considered really good at it, all I know is that my jaw doesn't seem to be dropping like so many others seem to be. I know the logical reply to this is "so don't listen to him tom", fine, I'll do that, jerkwad.

no, you aren't the only one. watch the swiss jam video. right at the begining he does billy jean, and does some wierd scratching thing and then is totally off beat when he comes back in. i'll give him props for the talent though. he cand do things i can't... just like footbag... sigh.

Yeah, he's got some good mouth-coordination as far as beats go...but if I were to play that Swiss Jam video for any percussionist at my school, they'd respond, "Yeah, and?"

It's impressive, but so are 2-adds to my friends. :/ I think any other "pro" beatboxer would consider him pretty average.

Not arguing or anything, just dropping my $0.02. Feel free to shank me for doing so in your blog if need be.

His SwissJam beatboxingg was pretty average, but compared to what he did at worlds (that I saw on video -- since I wasn't there, you guys can contradict this if he beatboxed other times), he developed a pretty solid set with good transitions and variation. I'll admit his sets are more of a display of a random ass cacophony of noises and lacks a bit of flow, but I also think he's developing flow. I personally find it a lot more interesting than certain hip hop beatboxers, but Kenny Muhammed is still my favorite.

edit: I'll put it this way - his beatboxing is very technical, just like his shred. Like it or not, that seems to be his style. *goes and watches the SwissJam video to see _Lon's_ part of the Vasek-Lon show

I hate beat-boxing. I thought it was cool at first -I guess- but it annoys the shit out of me. I don't even like rahzel's beat boxing, so vasek's annoys me just the same. In fact, every time I see beat boxing in a shred video I am like "goddamnit get to the shred!... fucking beat boxing!"

Yikes I just used your blog space to rant about beat boxing... Sorry.

IT SNOWED A BUTTLOAD LAST NIGHT!!!

yaayyyy!!! there is like.. half a foot of snow outside!

My dad woke me up today, told me it was 9AM and that he had just volunteered me to help the neighbors get their bigass gas snowblower out of the basement. whee!

It is freezing raining a coat of ice onto the snow right now, it makes each step you take crunch before you plunge into the deep snow.

I am going to go get my snow gear on and take the dog out to shovel the walk.

I love snow!! yaaaayyy snow!!!!

oh yeah, and I am shredding with Camille and Joyce today, Ontario's bustingest shreditas! wooo shred!

heh, I'm always saying how I don't like vasek's beatboxing, except for once, I thought he was really on beat for some video of him and some others playing hacky in pants and skate shoes and stuff that some professional company made. but by and large, I find him off-beat and noisy. He'll improve, he just doesn't have the most perfect rhythm yet. Sounds like he needs to skool his basics

Felix has copied all his sounds. And he doesn't master very many styles. Well I haven't heard very much of Vasek so I could critizise him, but I'm forced/allowed to hear Felix weekly. He hasn't been beatboxing for long and has improved like

but still, when you have to hear the same beats every session it kinda gets lame. Maybe once in month he has a new sound to show, but then he forgets to use it. - But his beatboxing is cool, definetly. Better than Vaseks compared to the time they have done it.

Anyone who's done marketing 101 will tell you that won't sell! Rename that "Jesus Face in Tray", it's all about the religion these days! Throw in a couple "fight terrorism" "save the children" and you'll be raking it in soon enough!

And as for those so called "gullible people"... well they shouldn't be allowed on ebay should they?

last thing: I enjoy music, I go to concerts, see bads, djs etc.. but does anyone else NOT like beat boxing at all? I find it very boring...

My dog bought me some new climacools!!

I broke the mold slightly and went with a climacool model that I don't think others have tried before. I think it *looks* at first sight like it wouldnt work well and that the toe area is too small and so on. Well I did some creative modding and now I have a fucking CLIMACOOL TOE BOX! BIATCH!

I have them laced up like lavers too. I did the broka mod and I am just waiting to get some silicone then these are going to be the pimpest climas ever.

I think I have the first climacool toebox.

I also think that these shoes are going to look slick enough to win over some of the douche's that still shred in lavers.

*yes, I did just call 99% of shredder's douches, chill out, I'm kidding.

ug, after reading verena's post about climas, and all you've said about them, I can't believe I just bought 3 pairs of lavers... I have to get some climas, my legs need it...

considering I want them to be in prime condition...

for worlds
