Todays session was so much fun. We were all happy to see eachother,
everybody was serene and lighthearted, Max and me even exchanged
footbag related xmass presents. I'm now the proud owner of a munich
footbag key chain, yikes !
But the really kool thing for me was having Daniel among our ranks .
He moved to England some years ago, and we used to kick together
for a bit.
After i broke my ankle and was out for 6 months, he moved and i lost interest in footbag. Dont dare to ask why
We met in September the last time, and i was eager to show him
that i progressed from drilling pick ups . It was also very nice
to see him play again, reminding me, that i could also be that good,
if i hadnt stopped 4 yrs ago
Enuff nostalgia and unfresh reminiscinses.
After watching Late Night Jam, we were hot and ready to go and got down
to the cellar, were we, or should i say Max and Bea have a shred room now.
There was some dusty furniture to be moved and green carpet to enroll,
and then we went straight to drilling and stringing.
Honestly i'll have to keep pen and paper in reach now in future sessions, cause
its near to impossible to remember all the goodies, especially if theres
so many energetic and interesting players in one spot.

Thus i can only say that Max has a lotta energy and variety, i love his
agressive, geniune style and all his whirls. Powermoves and tough links. Bea is so bothsided, its crazy ! Her parkwalks, dimwalks and pixie moves
are nice and clean, effortless but still bouncy and fast.

Daniel has the most variety and best shuffle ive seen "live" yet !
He is a man of many sets:pixie, fairy, atomic, stepping, spinning, ducking,
on both sides.
Its so much fun to watch , he can spontaneously bust a lotta different stuff,
making combos up as he goes along. Nice creative links, long runs,
impressive tricks.

I didnt hit anything new or outrageous, but my linking, flipsidedness and
overall creativity are coming along quite well.
Results :
6/4 consecutive clippers; but as Bea said, i strain myself to much...
clipper>clipper, pdx illusion, atomic xbd heel, flip ducking clip :)
dimwalk, pixie ducking toe, gyro toe midrun ( not all in one, tho )

diving toe>plo
osis>far legover midrun 8O
plo bsos, symp.mirage bsos and smear bsos( again: different runs,
but all midstring )

I cant recall any full runs, only some good combos within some of those runs : magellan>plo>zulu toe>smear ; weaving toe<symp.mirage;
ducking clipper>f.legover>butterfly>mirage ; dimwalk>mirage>duck toe;

one run was really good, you know with plo bsos, smear, symp. mirage,
ducking and diving, but again i cant remember it too well...

On my foot : assasin, shit, am i close or what ...!?!?
and my first 3-3-3, i swear i had it, but it fucking rolled off, no seal
no glory : smear>plo>symp. mirage !!!

I love sessions like today's, everybody was energetic, attentive and happy.
we were laughing a lot, surprising eachother a lot, it was amazing and
amusing.
This special feeling after a good shred, the bright eyes and heavy but content legs and the mind flooded with images of insanity and beauty
thats what makes freestyle so great.
Its awesome to push body, mind and soul to new heights in a circle of similar minded, lovable nice people ! i consider myself blessed !
thanx to all !

Is ja real fat dass man do laessich posten ko.

Shred on und so,

Daniel

Phew.
Before i go to the core of this, some sort off resumee about these
exciting four months of freestyling, i wanna talk about our last base
ment shred, and i also wanna say this : BJOERN WE MISS YOU !!!

When is your physiotherapy happening ? How do you keep yourself
from playing, you little maniac ? Did you watch late nite jam ?
Lets talk on the fon on sunday man !

Ok, our last shred in 04 was a big drilling session with some runs at
the end and even more runs :D
I kinda lost my pixie that day, so all of my runs but one were short and
annoyingly chaotic.
But at least drilling in general is feeling better and better
every time i shred.
clip> mirage rpt 3times, both sides ; ducking clipper and symposium mir >
illusion also on both sides. 5/4 consecutive clippers, i want 8 on each side
 butterfly>pdx mir and dimwalk>pdx mir ! finally .
Max hit tapping mirage and almost pdx whirl>pdx whirl, and Bea hit 8 :!: alternating plo's and she busted ducking mirage first try !

NuR's four-month-freestyle-resumee :

Its soo much fun and i love my team !
I've never been so consistently obsessed and happy, footbag really
changed me in many ways and sometimes its a little scary how much
its dominating my thoughts and actions.
Before writing this, i checked an old post of mine, where i introduced
myself on modified and i also gave my set of footbag goals in that post.
I've reached most of them and came close to the others, and now it
seems to be good time to set my self new goals, since now i beginn
to have an idea of what freestyle footbag can be like.

MY GOALS FOR THE NEXT FOUR MONTHS
35 alt legover
10 consecutive clippers,
10 alt clippers
6 infinities
6 plo
all other combos i wanna be able to hit at least 4 times in a row
"real" double dexes like dlo and eggbeater
any alpine ( pref. assasin !)
consistent whirls and osii
gyro mirage ;datw; flail
swirl, drifter and torque  and flurrycane and montage swirl an..
better spins
TILTLESSNESS and long, smooth, energectic runs. solid basics are da shiznik
BOTHSIDEDNESS on both sides ! where are the 4's ?
what about magellan, pdx illusion, pixie clipper, pixie illusion, ducking mirage ? when will i finally hit those on both sides ?... :?
MORE SETS : atom smashers are sexy.

But mainly i need to get solid, easy saves, like butters, pdx mirages
and osis.
Being a dumb fuck at times, i just realized in the last two
sessions how important they are ( at least at the beginning...).
I kinda didnt like these much, they were hard to execute and i also
thought : why sweating ones ass of learning moves, that will be
considered bails at a later stage. But of course thats mad bull.
i definitly need more eforlessness and smooveness for my game ;
more precision and a better endurence.
My form is also still too shaky and i really should increase my
knowledge on how to do moves correctly to avoid further injuries.

But apart from those shortcommings, i'm at peace with my game,
and the odds arent to bad that i keep progressing at my current rate,
since i'm crazy and my teamates are nice and helpful :D
thx,
d-man

Physiotherapy will hopefully start next week. Not shredding is hard,
but I just bought myself an awesome Flamenco-Guitar, so I'm fit for
the winter. I can finally start off learning the flamenco guitar now :)
So most of the time I'm playing and practicing.
Late Night Jam is too awesome. Hell yeah!

Make sure you learn it both sides ; and please compose some
uptempo shred music for your come back vid !

What are you doing tomorrow, because we wanted to meet up with
Daniel one more time befeore he leaves...he wanted to give us a
little stitching class ? Interested ?

This afternoon the Hunters, Daniel and me had a little basement session.

Bad news first, i'll have to take some time off, my leg pain returned
unexpectedly today and i wanna see a doc about it next week.
I dont think its anything major, but i dont wanna take any risk there
either, so i stopped playing after an hour...till the next gym shred,
there'll only be clippers for me.

BUt the session was fun anyway, good atmosphere and nice runs to watch ;
we also filmed some of them, finally Max got his blurry whirl on tape .
Filming it self is also a lotta fun, i cant wait if we make a proper vid,
ideas are bubbling up, plus i never seen myself shred.
And i wonder if i wanted to right now, considering todays performance :?

Its a shame that daniel is leaving so soon, having him around is always
a pleasure, finish your capitalistic studies and relocate, i say !

I shall be back on the blog at the end of the week with some interesting
clipper record stories :D
see ya

Yippie !
Finally xmas holidays are over and done with, and all the little brats
are back in school where there belong, instead hanging around
our store chasing cheap materialistic dreams.
But more importantly, we could go back to the gym for shredding
after two long weeks of absense. I'm not sure what it is with this
place, maby its the bouncy, semi magic floor, maby its the nerdy
jugglars, who kindly let use this place or the uncomfortable bathroom,
but these monday gym sessions are always kingly.

Woah, what a weird sentence...but i'm just so happy about todays session,
for i was only dealing with my enemies ( flip pixie, flip clipper, pdx mirage )
during the last week, and i couldnt go for hard drills or strings n shit.
Of course i didnt go to the doc's last week, but i stupidly worked my ass off
instead, but not shredding and working night and day ( security job in a club and al bundy jr at footlocker ) payed off in many ways :
my legs was really good to me and kinda healed up and i met one of
my favorite pop artists at my club job. Her name is Mietze and she's
always been my fantasy, but after been hugged, complimented and
blessed by her, i really have a hard time sleepin' :D
mein hungriges herz...

Today everything was well, set and setting, so to speak ; work was easy,
but not boring, i had decent food, not to much, a little shred in break,
since the weather was nice and my eqippment was tip top ( i found the
perfect short finally, all my bags were freshly washed, the pigs were fed...)
The session itself started with a pleasant surprize ; Max had brought
a new player to practice ! A GIRL !

Her name is Andrea, god help me i hpoe thats her name, i really have
a problem memorizing "common" german names, and she knows Max
from schooldaze .
She used to kick a lot back then and she's really good at it to.
Her natural goodheartedness and intelligence lead her to freestyle
and after seeing Mr Hunter shred, she wanted to give it a try .

We started old style circle kicking and dog, that was a lot of fun, i think
i havent seen as many full hacks in a row since the war in korea :P
Max and me were hitting some little old school tricks and cunningly
we poured more and more freestyle moves in, giving basic
theoretical comments at the same time to get our talented noob ready
her first day of school.
She learned how to do the basic stalls, and also some dexing.

Andrea ( fingers crossed ) hit : 5 alt toe stalls, inside stall, clipper and mirage 8O not bad for the first day, i say !!!! i hope she comes bag ( back?

Max was good today too : about 17 average contacts per run, almost guiltless, get rid of that far leg over dude !
There was one run, where he hit ripwalk, blur, symp mir bsos, magellan
bsos, whirl...we filmed some aswell, maby that one is on it too .
While drilling he hit 16 infinities, 4 same side whirls on his flip and
he finally landed pdx whirl>pdx whirl ! Very nice .

Yo after kicking, i continued my warm up and went into alternating toe
stalls ; new record is now 76.
That was kinda kool, since i made a new trainig schedule, where i
wrote down the number of times, i have to hit a certain move/combo
before i allow myself to proceed...sounds weird maby, but i'm german, so leave me alone
anyway, that piece of paper said 50 and so 76 were kool (i wish it was butterflies though  )
It also said 20 alt inside delays and it took me a while  but i ended
up with happy 29, which is also a new world rec, if i remembeer correctly...
11 con flip mirages, clip>mirage rpt 3 times each side, and finally i
beat my cheap record of 4! con clippers on my flip and i hit amazing 6
this time :!:
I also worked on mirage>legover, con legovers, mir>smear, gyro toe,
ducking/diving toe and clippers, downtime illusions, butterflies, osii
and pdx mirages, but not to full satisfaction...

I had a lot of fun schooling my basics and my flipside, its so much better
to drill than to go for fancy moves all the time.
Of course, this is still being done, but not excessivly, i dont see a point
fucking one self up trying to hit a hard trick, that you wont hit too soon
again anyway, when you can work on consistency, endurance and style
instead. And i really do need longer strings !

But for bragging, i hit diving mirage third try, my first clip set whirl and a
really clean pdx illusion/pixie ducking toe.

Strings are slowly getting better too (linkwise, almost tiltless...) but they're
short like chinese pornstars ! ( u wish my posts were like that 2 )
I solemnly chellenge myself to hit eggbeater or reverse whirl
once this week, i had some decent attempts today.
We have another session on thursday and till then i focus on clippers
and flip butterflies.
peace

my comeback will be really really tough with you guys busting so hard.
It will take months to get my flipside ankle flexibility back to normal.
Props on Pdx Whirl>Pdx Whirl, massive! Daryl, nice to hear your insides
and clippers are progressing!

And a new member! YAY! I can't wait to start playing again with you fellows.

Happy shredding; I try to stay away from bags as much as possible,
it just gets me down :?

Hi guys,

ahhh finally back on the net :) It almost feels like my first time online.
Due to our move to the new house I'm cut off the online world.
I will now browse a little bit through modified and try to catch up.
Anyway great to see you posting all the stuff in herer Daryl and Bjoern get back to game as soon as you old bones let you ;) !!!

Currently I'm collecting footage for a new video. (Btw. Bea's pixie set rocks :))

So long

Woah welcome back in the "real" world, Max!

I'm really anticipating the footage as I haven't played with you guys
for so long!

I tried a ducking clipper today, and halfway through the cranking of my
catch foot it just hurt like bullcrap. I can crank my flipside ankle about
10-15 degrees, if not less. Maybe I'm fit for Todexon...

Hey Bjoern !
einsatzbereit bist !!!
Wie überstehst du all this unfair business ?
Lass uns doch mal n bischen hängen und quatschen, hab dich echt
lang nicht mehr gesehen, schau mal auf dein mobile, hab 2 neue
nummern ...lets hook up soon !

I feel quite awkward to boast n post , after this first segment, but what
would the good of this blog be, without any shred news ?
Unfortunatly, i forgot my notes on our thursday session at work,
so all news be pretty self centered once again, since all most of
Max' and Bea's stuff was on that paper...
It was a nice and quite demanding drilling session and Bea, stubborn
and 16 as he is, left us two pretty early  she wasnt satisfied with
her game that day, i guess and Max,only wanting the best for his sitster
pushed her a little too hard imo :?
Anyway, before she stormed off, Bea hit 26 pick ups on her warm up and
when we practiced ducking, she came damm close to pheonix twice :D
Max was busting nice too, he hit 4 blurs,3 flip dlos and 3 rippy rips in a row,
18 infinities and some kool shit like sidewalk>infinity>sidewalk !
Going back to work in a few hours, i'll pick up this paper
containing last shred's events and i'll update this entry with some
more details...

And me ? Well, i'm aware that my posts are really long, but since i'm quite
new to this, its hard to compress all the madness going on in a more
"reader-friendly" format
What can i say, i'm so pumped and i feel like progressing every session !
88 alt. toestalls, its toetally stupid to brag with marginal toe stall records,
but for me, a low level toe player with highly questionable clippers,
toe stalls are really important, and my sets are getting better,
the more i practice those...
30 alt. inside stalls, i slowly beginn to feel a rhythm here...
14 con. flip mirages, 6 con. clippers each side, 3  alt. clippers.
Legovers werent too great this time, only hit 13 in a row this time..dex wise, whirls werent great either, i only hit two good ones .

BUt, all ducking stuff feels nice; diving toe>ducking toe rpt twice and
did illusion>zulu toe>plo . :D
Flipsidedness is improving too : clip>mirage>legover rpt twice, plo bsos, smear bsos and symp. mirage bsos ( all different runs, though..)

As for tricks, i only hit smudge once before, ( it was last month, i think ) after eons of trying and this session, i hit it first try, starting off a run !
Its on tape and i hope its clean...
Pdx illusion is also a hard nut for me, or at least it was, since it hit it
effortlessly first try this session too, also linking tiltless stuff to it :D
There was also a new combo, smear>ducking clipper and i footed rev.
swirl twice .
As i can tell by flip pixie/clipper/pdx mirage improvement, drilling basics is all it takes to progress at a reasonable rate .
I mean a lot of moves i'm able to hit now, seemed so impossible only
two moths ago and i will feel the same in another two months about
the recent hard stuff and about new "impossible" moves.
Ps :
Had a little 20 min shred at work on friday and i hit weaving toe>zulu toe
on both sides and 6 filp consecutive clippers.
And thers a fun new trick too : pixie zulu toe. first try ever, and i also hit
my first flip pdx illusion ( 4th try)
At nite, i tried spinning ducking toe, gyro mirage and merkon,
but no success...lets see, what happens on sunday...

I hope your'e fuckining with me dude, but either way this
is not funny !!!

Today i met up with Mike and we hooked up with the two Hunters
fo a shred .
It was funshredding mostly, almost no drilling, which is highly unusual
for Max and me.
Mike is a very sound guy, relaxed and very friendly and its a big shame,
that he doesnt live in munich, but he will try to come to monday's training
more often. He should be down here again in two weeks, and then i can
finally watch tricks of trade 1 and 2, plus i got a good man who can help
me out with datw and fairy set stuff :D
In his runs, he does a lot of pixie moves and diving tricks, and he did
hop and walkovers, pincher and also some stepping.
He's very smoove and versatile, he just needs to tell his "other" leg,
to participate a bit more .

Bea seemed to be a little turned off again, and unfortunatly, she didnt
shred with us long...but i think, shes saving all her energy for monday
to finally hit phoenix aswell as 10 plo's:wink:

Her brother Max was playing fiercly again, explosive stepping tricks,
hard ass links and tons of whirls ; one combo was whirl>pdx whirl>whirl
>pdx whirl and in his best string, 20 contacts with 18 guiltless moves and
only two 2 adds, he hit stepping ss whirl aswell !

Today i didnt hit any new moves or outrageous combos, but i had some
decent tiltless runs with a lot of pixie, ducking and diving stuff .
As long my body could provide the energy to bust , it felt quite effortless
and i didnt have to struggle as much as usual to get what i want .
Tomorrow i will focus on my flip pixie, like i did on clippers today and i
have the pleasant suspicion that the three of us gonna kill shit 2morrow :P

Sessions like today are so much fun, it was a smaller version of what i imaging shred sessions at tournaments to be like : a happy, fun
relaxed atmosphere, a lotta jokes and comments, analysys, trick tips
and a little bit of shred in between
It was just so different, usually i drill shitloads, being mostly self centered
and fanatical, close to enlightment at times, and as sweaty as a retired
sumo wrestler having a bad dream .

Tomorrow i shall go back to my obsessiveness and hope fully one day
i'm able to fuse both styles of shred sessions, the lighthearted with the
unforgiving, ever overzealous and completly out my mind style !
faith in that day,
AMEN

Speaking of Sumo, Yokozuna Asashoryu did it again and won the Kyushu Basho, the last tournament of 2004! Sumo rules! :)

Naw, I'm serious 'bout the ankle(s). Footbag is just so far away right now.Even though I'm still on modified and stay up to date, it's something I don't think about much, since the only move I can do right now is a toe stall

Right now I'm totally focusing on playing+practicing guitar, and I'm actually in the process of composing my first real piece. It's getting
more and more complex. This is great, it gives you a similar feeling that you get from good sessions. So good that it's 3 o'clock now and I should
be getting up again in 5 hours. Have to find a job.

Folks! We have to get a tourney together. Imagine the German Champs do take place in Munich in 2006, then we better should start getting
some experience! Plus we need to hook up with LA-Philipp about that summer-festival-footbag-event thing he was planning. plus we finally
need to take over the footbagfreund-club! so much to do..

OK, I tried to break Daryl's post-size-record, but failed miserably. I give up.. :)

(oh yeah, Daryl, let's hook up and do something!)

He Bjoern what's going on? Craked your other anle too =( How did that happen? You HAVE to be back at the bag again till Todexon!!! Mike also wants to come 100%.
About tournements, your right we have to make some more experiance. Since I finally finish my internship
(although it is really great there. I have an office job right now this is why I'm online :))
I have more time then. My suggestion is to use the opeetunity from the "Lange Nacht des Sports" and the "Streetlife Festival" and invite everybody to Munich.

@ Daryl
30 alt. inside stalls, i slowly beginn to feel a rhythm here...
Man I can't do that much ;)
Are you ready for tonights shred? And keep posting those long long reports about our sessions :) And start hitting Ripwalks :D
