my chilly philly plans are as follows: driving to philly new years eve w/kat + friend + shady. we'll be staying at mandy's house IN philly that night to party. on the 1st we will kick all day and most likely drive back home (poughkeepsie, for me - not roch) then drive back to roch on sunday, as we have classes on monday.

are we still on for kickin' at 5 today? someone should pick my ass up

.... and so I picked his ass up. Chris and Steve and I wandered around the tunnels at RIT until we ended up outside the WITR Campus Radio Station office, and they were cranking some reggae, so we hung out. Fun session. not super high energy on my part, but I was feeling in good control of what was going on. I hit toe set op foot twirl second try on one side, then in the same run hit it first try on the other side. had ripsteining osis off the foot many many times. I'm also starting to understand mobius, I had it on my foot once. I just need more time with it... finally...

great session last night at mike anello's house. me matt and mike shredded in the basement. i hit twirl, barrage, and one clean paradox barrage. matt and mike were rippin it up. matt hit a perfect mobius and attempted marius

mike hit smear > DLO > repeat

it was a good winter/inside session, and many more to come

good session the other night, I think it was smear > double switchover that mike hit, or smear > terrage... i hit some symp flurries, had some good runs here at there. as steve said, there was a mobius or two involved... finally... that move is a big deal for me. It was good times hanging at mike's place, it got to be 1 AM before I knew it...

gordon bevier is coming to my house tomorrow...

Gordon Bev stopped in last night. Chris, him, and I went to an athletic club near my house and hit up a racquetball court for a couple hours of shreddy goodness. Bevier was amazing, such long strings, constant variety, unexpected moves, great shuffle. He has incredible style and consistency. He made it really clear why he's ranked 3rd in the world... Even though he wasn't busting super hard with ultra high difficulty tricks, his strings showed such control and fluency with the footbag. I had such a great time playing with him. It's the first time a high level player has been in Rochester to shred, as far as I know. We all hit some good tricks, there was a good string or two from Chris and I

, no one got hurt, and we've got Chilly coming up in a few days... what a great session...

merry christmas to all you legball punters... I'm home in Rome for the holiday visiting the family... Just looking for a final call for who's in my car to chilly.

So far it's looking to be.

Me, Aric, Aric's Friend, Paul, Paul's Friend, and I feel like i'm expecting one more... although that's a full car right there. Paul said he'd sit all the way in the back with all the gear, so we might be able to fit one more. Anyone know who the mystery person is?

Chris, is the hotel all set?

My vacation has been wonderous except for anything related to footbag, unfortunately. Let's see.. How long has it been? perhaps almost a whole week without even touching a bag. It sucks. I'm losing it. I'm going to have to make up a lot of ground as soon as I get back. I never realized how hard it is to play at in the winter time in a place where no one else wants to play. . . I don't really want to get into it too much because I know I'll get smacked for it but let's just say this vacation has been the most anti-footbag two weeks I've ever had. And let's also say that I've barely hung on to my passion for the game and almost decided to quit all together. Don't worry though. I've "come to my senses". . But jeez. No breaks. It's a hard, hard life a footbagger leads in Syracuse, NY.

Got kicked out of the mall the other day when I tried to get back into it. In like 5 minutes. It sucked. I wasn't doing too bad either for not even putting a bag back in my pocket and touching it to my foot. Oye. Not kewl. Sorry. I'm at a LAN party at the moment so I've got to go. Later.

hello hello friends. why no posts?

most of the roch. crew was at chilly philly last weekend - which was a blast!

the weather couldn't have been better for saturday's shred. nice and warm, sunny too. the volleyball court had a nice surface for footbag. i played until the sun went down and my legs had turned to jelly. i hit some new tricks including flip paradon, flip barrage, dimmier, and dimmiest.

tom mosher was giving me a fairy set lesson, and i recall a quote by someone watching 'set the bag and get your leg out of the way' ... well it worked! i hit fear and fairy beater.

met some new shredders and saw some familiar faces and kicked all day. looking foward to the next tourney!

if anyone wants to kick, ill be playing in my basement just about every evening

The first night at chilly philly kicked ass!!!! For being only the 2nd time in 7 years that i wasnt drinking it was a good new years eve. I was playing pretty good for not kicking at all for 2 weeks. Got to kick in one of the best circles i have even been in, which included chris kovacks, brad nelson, jorden moir, felix zenger, and eventually nick laroche. My strings were dissappointingly short, but i did manage to hit some nice tricks and combos. Most memorably was E-walk > pdx mirage > frantic butterfly.

Then on sunday i managed to hit one new move, outside set parkwalk, inspired by joe kulacks.

All in all it was a great event... but damn my legs hurt!!

just finished up a 2 hour solo session in my basement.

i drilled the basics for a bit doing some tiltless strings, then really worked on my flipside. my flip pixie is getting so much better. i hit smear bsos and dimwalk bsos in a string right after that. the basement smells so fucking bad i had to go upstairs to breathe a few times. i hit a buncha new tricks on my flipside tonight including: double over down, tap, legbeater, and paradox tap. i was fooling around a bit and footed down double down on BOTH sides, then footed quantum butter 3 times! ill hit it next session fa'sho. i kept booting the bag real hard against the ceiling trying to quantum it

Session Friday at 4PM, meeting at the conference rooms.

So, GLASS is feb 4th and 6th, toronto is just over 3 hours. Any other RITFA/RFA members want to head to Canada for a weekend?

Also I found plane tickets to Denver for just under $200 roundtrip, depart rochester on Feb. 26 and leave Denver on March 1st. Any one else want to go to the event which will most likely be the biggest in NA for 2005? I know Steve is going to Cali, which is cool, but anyone else free for those few days?

awesome session with Chris Dean, Aric, and a new player. my friend paul bought some lavers and I saw him hit around the worlds on both sides, clipper> op toe > op toe > op clipper 2nd try, a few legovers, and that was about it, but I thought that was pretty good. he took right to it. he liked it, maybe he can hook up with alex strassman when he goes back to school in long island. he said he lived on a part of long island that's 15 minutes from the city, so he can hook up with NYFA and the Ministry as well if he stays sharp.

Chris said he was feeling off, Aric hit some cool new stuff. my second or third string of the night started with a swirling barrage, first try. later, I hit stepping far flying toe stall midstring. I was feeling in control and comfortable tonight, but I didn't play for long because I've felt sick lately, and I was getting kind of weak. I just hung out and watched and coached a little bit. Fun times...

I'd have logged in and out every once in a while during the break more but my computer at home doesn't like modified for some reason and no posts could go through. Oh well. It's not like I played anyway. .

. . So glad to be back where I can get back into it. And guess what y'all! As I was unpacking my stuff into my dorm room I found my long lost abshire mini that I was looking forward to breaking in! Wooooo! Yeah I almost passed out all over myself. Quite fun. Anyway. I guess all I need to say in terms of more footbag is YES . . I'm good for this "GLASS" that we've been formally invited to. Sounds like a friggin' plan gents. Don't know too much bout that other one. The one in march. Doubtful the pat can attend. But we'll try.

On a side note let us all bow our heads for a moment of silence for Greg Pestillo, a fellow footbagger and RFA member via Syracuse who got in a car crash and is pretty shaken up. He's fine physically. No broken bones and nothing internally bruised. But his legs are banged up pretty bad and he wasn't able to kick . . or do anything for that matter all during the holiday season. I've lit my ceremonial candle and some soft entrancing music is playing in the background.

Played terrible tonight... my legs were hurting something fierce. Did manage to hit a few new moves though:

kick set neo ss butterfly
ducking spinning toe stall
gimpy ducking butterfly

Strings were terrible at first due to my legs, but then I just went to tiltless strings for a little while and managed to hit some more decent strings. I did manage to hit pixie ss mirage > toe blur on my first attempt ever.
