I think that Frenzal talks about Porno.

Yes of course , every article which could be sold should be supplied.
If not bad people will sell this stuff and earn the money.
Moreover we should get more openminded in things which refer to sexuality so there won't be as many rapes and violence out there.
I guess the most surprising thoughts are in the brains of very common people where you wont guess that.

Porno prostitution, either one, just trying to stir up some debate.

I'm glad NZ legalised prostitution, it's not like it wasn't happening anyway.

I don't get your logic in that.

I don't get your logic in that.
If you cannot try your fantasies or at least see it on screen or talk to other people about that , you won't be balanced in sexuality and maybe your rise in frustration will explode someday and you will act in a violent manner to compensate this.

This is just one of my hypothesis

Porno on the web rakes in millions or even billions of dollars. It is a proven fact that watching too much porn will desensitize your sexual drive and lead you to more violent porn over a course of extended exposure. This could lead to rape.

Prostitution and porn would be sold/bought whether it is legal or illegal. Anyway, most porn stars/prostitutes are nymphomaniacs wanting money quick or come from troubled backgrounds but usually quit whenever they begin to get diseases.

Porno is great, but can lead to bad things as many over-used things can.

i'd just like to point out that it is in act NOT a proven fact that watching porn will lead you to more violent porn. (although some american congressmen have claimed that "porn is more addictive than crack").

neither is it true that most porn stars and prostitutes are what you say. sex workers are a diverse group of women who work in the industry for a wide variety of reasons. having read a number of publications by and about sex workers, as well as knowing several strippers, and i can firmly say that one of the most detrimental things to sex workers is the belief that they are either nymphos or were abused. this is simply not the case. it is attitudes like these that lead to violence against women, not watching too much pornography

anyway, i don't know exactly where you're getting your information, just thought i'd suggest you read up a little on the subject from the other point of view. a good place to start would be CSIS, the comercial sex information serivce: http://www.walnet.org/csis/mainmenu.html#commerce

Absolutely. Especially in the US.

United States culture tends to view sex as a taboo that is tolerated. We have tons of cable television channels that have some degree of sexual programming, but it is mostly considered to be very naughty. Even the granny sex therapist is seen as a naughty phenomenon (for those of you who haven't seen her there is an old woman who looks like she just came out of Sunday Mass to tell the world about vibrators, dildo's, and odd sexual positions (not sure what channel)).

Prostitution is seen as one of the worst offenses to human (especially female) morality. The reality is that the profession is one of the oldest and was once considered to be one of the most holy in ancient civilization. However, as societies developed from matriarchies to patriarchies the practice of making a religious offering to the goddess/priestess was cast down as the worst offense.

Making prostitution legal would open up laws that mandated safety for both the women and their clients rather than having to worry about back-alley dealings where sex is traded for crack and one gets high and the other gets a disease.

As for other types of sex being sold, it's already legal in the US to sell porn or have strip bars or whatever else, it just needs to be cultivated as a natural act rather than shunned.

I'm against it for myself, just because I'm kind of into having self control and such... also, I think it is kind of dissrespectful to females... so I guess to some it up, in my opinion sex shouldn't be sold, but I don't want to force my opinion on other peope, so it shouldn't be outlawed or anything... people need to make their own choices

Dr. Ruth I believe. Don't ask me how I know.

As for the previoud two posts, Yes. I have to concur. I do disagree with the legalization of prostitution/ pornography. I'm strictly against that. Now, I odn't want to sound like a hypocrite later on so I'll go ahead and say that yes, I do see them once in a while but I don't support it. I do not watch it voluntarily. Furthermore, about the rapes thing, I have seen research that shows that certain hotels may take off adult chanells. WHY? Because it turns out that men that have just released called for room service and then assaulted the room attendants....keep in mind that they are men assaulting FEMALE room attendants. How did this comw to? The start: pornographic films in hotel rooms. If rape is supposed to go down, how can it go down when men are raping other women right after they see backdoor sluts 9?

Just my thoughts on it. Feel free to completely not have to read this.

If Jo Schmo is going to rape someone (or commit any violent act) because of something that he sees in a movie or hears in a song, there is already something very wrong with his mental health. A normal person who watches a skin flick won't go out and violate the next woman that they see.

That being said, no matter what the strippers or prostitutes say or think, it's not a healthy life that they lead and the strippers that I've met are very unhappy and lonely people.

People watching porno is normal and I can't argue against it. And I know that when people are forced to repress their sexual feeling they are more likely to lash out. Since you’re (and this isn’t to anyone specific, it’s just an argument that has been stated a few times so I’m arguing against it) arguing that porn contributes to rape, I’ll argue that porn might be the outlet needed for those who are mentally incapable to the point of almost being dangerous to others.

Okay, so I'm obviously really bored if I'm going to argue something like that. I hope someone disagrees with me because I feel like arguing and would be fine with being proven wrong.

Yeah I agree with Emily - I think you can only be responsible for your own actions. If you watch a porn movie and then go and rape somebody - it's not the responsibility of the porn movie producers - but your responsibility. I am fully confident that if I ever did watch a porn movie - it would not lead to me raping anybody. I think that people who do commit such crimes do so from some kind of sickness or from values not in tune with societies expectations - I also think that those people who make a living out of pornography or enjoy watching it should not have that taken away because other people can't behave in a socially acceptable manner after watching pornography.

I can't see what right society has to stop a person from consenting to have sex with another consenting person - and then one person paying the other. It doesn't harm anybody - and it doesn't lead to a break down of society. If you don't want to have sex with a prostitute - there is any easy solution - don't.
