Keep looking Mathieu, im sure they are somewhere! We HAVE to find them!
Anyway, We had 2 fairly long sessions 2 days in a row, so it felt good to move around a bit more this winter. Chilly Philly loosened the muscles up, and those 2 practices solidified them a bit more.
Im going to talk a bit about my game, to summarize where I am, and where I gotta go now.
My game definetly improved on the second day, even if I did get tired very fast. In the 15-30 minute range of our 1.5 hour practice that day, I was really getting my gyro egg's really easily, and footed my flip one, which I will be working on. I also hit a really nice and clean swirling gyro mirage, which felt good.
On a negative note, my torques blow. I can hit mobius SO consistantly on one side, but I struggle to hit regular+pdx torques on my good side, and my flip... damn.. SO bad. Ive hit torque, pdx. and mobius all both sides before, but not with any real consistancy. Apparently my foot is completely vertical, according to James, when I go for the catch, which means 2 things: I have to bend my knees more, and twist my body alot more as well. Im confident the torques will work themselves out someday, but not any day soon.
Hmmm what else, just long fun strings. I REALLY stomp hard on my strong whirls, so I need to get them lighter so I can step out of them easier. The form looks good to me, and according to others looks good, so its just a matter of tightening them up, finishing the move earlier, then planting nice, light, and straight.
Swirls are great, the flip ones are comming alot great too, though not too fast. I feel I really got the technique down on this one, so its just a matter of time before im really comfortable with the flip one. Just gotta get used to the motion, you know?
The same can be said about my blenders, since its sort of the same motion.
My double downs are horrible, gotta work on those. I feel like I have floppy ankles, so maybe I will try harder to keep them straight. Im not too sure what exactly is bothering them, minor or major, so Im not sure when they will get better. My flip double-downs are the worst part of my game - they are nonexistant. TOO LONG have I neglected to practice them, so im gonna work hardcore on those.
Everything else is pretty good, so those are my weaknesses above. My sets are fine, my flip pixie is iffy, but every day it gets better, so no worries.
Not too sure when the next session is, but I gotta hit my sick 3 that I thought of before Mathieu leaves with the camera!! Actually I got a few in mind, but Im not sure which one is "sicker" so I will try them all and then see.

Um, hello. I'm new here but I've been kicking the hacky sack for a while and I can hit a few guiltless moves. I don't have a place to practice in the winter (all six months of it) so I'd love to join some of your sessions if it's ok. My number is WTF-YALL. Give me a call some time.

We've been playing at Cegep Andre-Laraundeau for the last week, we just crash where the rock climbers are and no one bothers us. I figured someone would have called you, I'm not usually the one to call peeps and whenever I try to get in touch with someone they're never around. It's like the Montreal scene is split into several groups that rarely meet up. Where's Seb? Yax? Ianik? I haven't played with them in months. NDA is starting up again but I'm too poor right now so all my sessions are at the cegep, and as a matter of fact I JUST got your number tonight, I wanted to call to ask about footfighter footbags but it was after eleven. If you have any left can you save one for me?
We're trying to get a jam going early afternoon on sunday if you or anyone else is interested. I'm gonna find out if the cegep is open or not and post again tomorrow.
peace

hey, speaking of phone numbers, I really dont have many montreal footbagers numbers, and the ones I might, are probably lost somewhere. I think everyone should post there number, and whoever else's number they know on this page, so we can all always find them.

Im going to bitch some more now, because work frustrates me:
I REALLY dont like all that alpha/beta/gamma garbage I keep hearing and reading about. Its all useless and confusing. Just say frontside, backside, or full. Now, dont tell me "Yeah but Slick Nick what about 3-4 dex tricks?!?!?!?! HUH WHAT ABHOUT THEM!!!!!!??" Dont give me that crap, you can describe ANY move accurately with backside/frontside.
Oh and another thing: I truly believe 90% of mods are useless. Brocka cut? Please. Drilling holes? Worthless. Do the basic thing to get the walls (dont get me started on this subject), and dats it dats all.
edit:
Oh and another thing: A bunch of footbaggers that I dont know added me to their MSN list, or tried to anyway. Dont bother if I dont know you. If I know you, great, otherwise, go away.
Oh and another thing: I cant wait for GLASS
I should be able to make it!

Alpha Beta Gamma is entirely concise. I don't understand Montreal's aversion.
Backside Frantic Mirage? Backside Pixie Mirage? Backside Furious Mirage? Backside Shooting Mirage?
Now compare that level of clarity with...
Beta Frantic Mirage, Beta Pixie Mirage, Gamma Furious Mirage, Gamma Shooting Mirage?
I look at the Greek System and I see no room for misunderstanding, so what's the problem?
"I HATE IT BECAUSE IT'S DIFFERENT" ??
If that's the reason, that's just silliness.
Oh, and whether you like me or not as a result of this post, I'm adding you to my msn.
