Tonight's session was flat out terrible
John was too sore to do anything and bob looked like he just woke up (which he had). I just wasn't stringing like I should have been. It was a long day at work and I was tired. Bob said that karma made us play so badly because we had such a good session on friday. The only new thing I hit was colossus. We did talk about footbag for a good bit after we'd given up, while john raided the clinic's refridgerator. It was probably better than the shred.
Brad
What can I say, I don't like mushrooms, but the pizza with mushrooms was better than my shred. I figured I'd be full go on Weds., but I think I made my hip so sore from tonight's shred that I'll postpone that till Friday or the weekend, hopefully by then I won't be physically limited.

tonight was a decent session. I john mahood did nothing but roll around balancing in a wheel chair while brad and bob shred. At the begining the session started out pretty well. decent sized strings from bob and okay strings for brad (at least by my standards). We filmed some sick 3's for the comp. Nothing too amazing. Bob hit his but it isn't his best stuff. Brad was trying a HUGE combo, and he got to the last move but it rolled off of his ankle. so that'll be posted at a later date. We filmed quite a bit so you can probably expect a video at some point. It felt like chilly philly all over again for me. I hurt my hip earlier in the week and all I can do now is hope that it gets better by chilly philly. cause if it doesn't, this will be round number 2 of recording chilly philly for john mahood*. I'm sure i'll be fine.
as for the shred of tonight Bob was linking fairly well. lots of whirls. and then actually playing out of alot of them instead of just catching them like normal. Brad had a few good strings and an enormous sick 3 if he ever can finish it. He was stringing fairly well, but nothing is standing out that was huge right now.
anyway, i guess i'll post a little something more next time i shred or whenever the video gets made.
*- for those of you who don't know, exactly one year ago today i hurt myself just before chilly philly. so naturally i spent all of chilly phillly (and i do mean all, no shred at all) recording everyone else busting. so i'm pretty pumped for this upcoming CP.
Edit * this was all written by Bob Glasser
Edit * I'm a balancing machine on the wheelchair.

I was driving home tonight about 10:30'ish, and thought I'd just stop by the clinic and kick some. I haven't played for about a week, so I thought I should kick a little bit even though my hip isn't 100% yet. Tonight I played to Jazz only, and it was a really fun session. I hit a new move, just something styley , think of a reverse swirling pickup, yeah you know that move. Now think about if you didn't do the pickup and you bailed to a mirage. So what it looked like was a combonation of a reverse swirling symp. mirage, but the mirage had somewhat of a raking motion in it. I think I might start playing to that style of music when I shred by myself, it really lets me play more loosely without draining the energy out of me quite as fast. I feel it kinda compliments with my style because of the smooth calm feel of it, well that and, tonight I couldn't go big cause of my hip */rants*
I wish I could know how excited other people are for this Chilly Philly tourni, because I feel that one person couldn't be much more excited than I. I just recently watched the WV JAM video from my site, and I miss kickin with Caleb A., Jake R., and Ryan T. I'll be rooming with Jake and Caleb so I am superstoked about that. It's too bad that Ryan is living in Texas now, it's Texas, right ? Maybe we'll do some wallbag for shits'n'giggles.
I also noticed that these three upcoming weekends are going to be the best weekends ever. First of all, there will be snow, and I love snow. I'll be going to visit my sister for Christmas, and visit the 2 golden retrievers, I love dogs. I will probably be going skiboard/snowboarding while I visit my sister, again, I love the snow. Of course there is X-Mas. It will be a three day weekend, I usually work on Saturday, but nope ! Chilly Philly willl be the weekend after that. That entails footbag, friends, partying, my frickin 21st birthday, wall climbing, and so much more ! THEN, the weekend after that, again no work on Saturday, because I am going to Snowshoe, by then, the mountain should be fully open with tons of snow. This time, I'm going to try to keep my knee in one piece.
With this all said, it's like revenge of last year, I was put down snowboarding, and the reserved camera man at Chilly Philly. This year I will have my revenge with joyess fun !

Merry Christmas!
I got some gloves and some other clothes. It's not much, but my family rules. I spent Christmas eve with my relatives on my dad's side. They were tolerable this year. Most people just used my cousins new baby to entertain themselves. Today, relatives from my mom's side are coming to my house. They are some funny people. I think everyone has "one of those uncles." I have three of them.
On Thursday we had a surprise birthday party for Jesus. I was already diving into the keg before Jesus arrived, but the party really started when he graced us with his presence.

I drank until the last drop of beer was gone and everyone had a good time. So we're not Christians, but it was a fun party.

Chilly philly is this weekend, and so is my birthday, AND I lost 2 of my Lonn's in Charlotte, I think I accidentilly had them in my pocket while learning how to snowboard, A painful way to loose a bag. SOoo, you guys should get me a 32 handstiched bag to show how much you love me. If you want to, (Brad, Bob), you 2 can stay at my house on Thursday night so we can take off really early Friday, could you drive Bobby G. ?

Chilly Philly Review
This will be my first review that is actually done shortly after the event, so everything should be in clear detail, as opposed to my usual blurry guessed memories.
Starting off for the trip from WV, Bobby G. was the driver, and Brad was the navigator. We left mid morning in no hurry to get there sometime in the evening on the 31’st. The trip was relatively smooth except for the vicious wreck we saw, nearly hitting a dear, Bob being on the wrong side of the highway on every exit, and the small traffic jam we were in. The best part about Bob driving was we would just get onto the exits, every time he chose to drive on the left, or the right side, we’d at the last second, see the exit on the other side. The vicious wreck was quite tragic looking as we passed a truck that looked like the front end completely blew up.
Once we arrived in Philly, we checked into the hotel, it’s always nice pulling into the hotel and you see lavers and kickers randomly walking around or playing. Mosher, Seath, and Jordan were the first kickers we saw. I was so excited to get there, I felt like I just started playing footbag, it was that fresh noob excitement !
I had some big plans for myself that night to go to some huge club, or strip club, and get wasted since it was my 21’st birthday and New Year’s Eve, but once midnight came, it seemed that everyone was poor, or just didn’t want to. We kicked for a while outside on the volleyball court, but it was only single lit, so I searched around for a better spot. I found the perfect place for freestylers, it was in a subway train station. You walk down the stairs, and there is a midlevel section where you have tiles and pillars with nice lighting, just big enough for all the players we had. The nice thing about that space was that it was midground, so it wasn’t next to the passing trains, you had to go one more floor down. It took me a couple hours to drill into everyone’s head that I found a great spot to play at.
Later we started up some hotel kicking, but that wasn’t long lived. It was Jordan, Mike H., Ales, and myself. The best part is when it was somewhat silent kicking since it’s carpeted, all the freestylers socializing, and then you hear this gangsta music coming from the hallway. I love to kick with music, but Josh Benham was carrying a huge boombox, and all I could think of is, we’re getting kicked out real soon. We did eventually get kicked out, so finally, Steve G. agreed to go to the subway, midway underground, how footbag should be.
I kicked for a good 4-5 hours that day, and everyone was enjoying themselves. Once midnight rolled around, a couple people went to the streets to watch some fireworks. I tried to see if anyone wanted to go out, but everyone was kicking, so I just threw off the pants, and freestyled until about 1:15 am. Most people have stories how they got plain trashed on their 21’st Birthday, my story is so much better. I was at a footbag tourni, and I was freestyling with new friends and old friends. I finally got Bob to go to a bar with me, but the hard part was finding alcohol and a bar. We walked through Philly for over an hour. Bob was pretty mad because his knees were killing him, my ankles were pretty sore, but we kept looking. We finally found a place to stop into so we wouldn’t freeze to death. Of course when we walk into 7-11, there is a fire alarm going off the whole time, so it is incredibly annoying to get a cappuccino. I also find out that getting alcohol in Pennsylvania is really hard. They don’t store beer in gas stations, or 7-11’s like in WV. So I finally agree to get a Taxi, and go back to the hotel, we lost pretty hard that night. Luckily, I would redeem myself the next night.
That night the WV crew all crashed at Josh’s room, it wasn’t the best sleep, but we all stayed asleep until about 1:00 PM. The funny thing about that day was, there wasn’t any venue for shred, so nobody knew where to go, everyone just walked around the hotel and outside to talk to others, trying to figure out what to do. You may think, that is so very unorganized, but the beauty of it is, footbaggers can do that. The best part about that afternoon was where the crew ate, we went to a place called ‘Cereality’. You guessed it, they served cereal. You could combine cereals, put toppings onto it, do whatever you wanted, as long as it were cereal. I got a premade combo called ‘The Devil Made Me Do It’. It was Lucky Charms, Coco Puffs, and malt balls, pretty damned good.
The weather was amazing for being in January, usually it’s freezing, or atleast chilly. We had mid 60’s weather under the sun, the footbag gods were on our side that day. We all joined up in two spots, most everyone went to the volleyball courts, and then later Steve G. told us about this great spot to play that was sunny, wind free, and just a better place. A couple people including myself took off to play over there, the first thing everyone noticed, that the wind free part, was pretty windy, but we still played. I circled with Ales and Elli P. Steve G. went to a WaWa, us West Virginians are infatuated with that store, because we don’t have one. I was hoping he was going to bring back a bunch of meat, because there were 3 large grills at that shred spot, but he didn’t.
That day was pretty much filled with shred everywhere, and myself saying ,”I’m done for today, I better stop.” Then later shredding it up. I finally stopped for a pizza break. I ordered pizza with Trevor H, and Bobby G. Since I could get beer, Trevor decided to go out with me 2 blocks down to a bar and pick up some beer. I got a 6 pack of Labatt Blue, and he got some sort of dark beer. So we come back, and the pizza guy still wasn’t there. He was about 20 minutes late when he came in. I’m a pretty nice guy, but when Papa John’s is 2 blocks away from the hotel, and I actually called them, they said he was on his way, Papa John obviously lied. I told him “ I’d tip you, but you were over 20 minutes late.” He didn’t look to happy, but I wasn’t either. We took our pizza into the ‘ Living Room ‘ . It had 2 fireplaces at each end, and we looked way under classed for that room. Other kickers joined and we just talked about this and that, mostly footbag, while I drank up and ate delicious pizza next to the fire. That was a very good time.
I continue drinking and hear about some people kicking in the subway again, so I go down their buzzed on my 4th. I decide to kick with Tom Mosher and Joe K. They were really nice to what I remember, because later I was on my 7th and still playing. I’m sure I wasn’t on top of my game since I was seeing 2-3 bags when I played. Later I wondered to the hotel on about 9 beers, and I found my way to Stan’s room, they had a projector pointing to the ceiling and a X-Box hooked up to it, so I had to play laying down which made me even more delirious. I’m an avid gamer, and when it comes to first person games, I’m used to beating ass, that night, I got owned every single round. I was usually just about dead every time I got the chance to react to someone killing me. It was still fun. I went back to my room, and just crashed the second I touched the bed.
I woke up that morning, unsure of the time to some lady knocking on the door,” Room service, Room service, Room service.” It reminded me of the David Cross skit, because when I heard that and woke up, I was completely confused. I finally get up a couple hours later and walk around, I left all my things in Josh’s room so I make my trip over there. I see Felix Z. and the only thing he says to me is “ Heey Druuunken Master.” That day we had the usual Chilly Philly venue of the indoor tennis courts, a very nice place to play. The amazing part of us getting there, was we drove and we found it our first try.
That day was pretty awesome even though I was feeling initially pretty shitty. Peter Irish showed up with Ryan Thomass, I didn’t expect either of them, so that made the day so much better. Kenny Shults also made an appearance, while he was warming up, I made my hellos, and asked if I wanted to warm up with him. Of course I jumped on that opportunity and played for a while with the godfather of footbag. When I talked to Pete that day, I found out Lonn wasn’t there with him. That also meant no Lonn bags, but I was wrong, Pete had a ziplock bag full of them, one caught my eye more than any. I told Pete I had to have that one. I gave the good man his money, and he gave me what I wanted. I really needed that too because I lost my other Lonn’s when I went snowboarding. I completely forgot they were in my pocket, and all I did that day was fall, so they’re probably somewhere bearied in the snow.
The highlights of the trip was watching all the big boys play. The ones that come to mind are Brad Nelson, Nick Laroche, Peter Irish, Jordan Moire, Felix Zenger, Kenny Shults, Yacine Merzouk, Elli Piltz, Flash Bevier, Chris Kovacks, David Clavens, Caleb Abraham and everyone else. Meeting up with all my old friends, making new ones, and hanging with everyone made a great 21st birthday.

Chilly Philly was fun.
Hanging out with everyone was cool.
I ate more food than I should have and played way more than my body could handle.
I heard two new guys that I don't even know say, "Brad Nelson thinks he's so cool (or good I couldn't tell) and he's not," which I thought was funny because I think the opposite under both of those circumstances and because people I don't know talk about me.
Jorden is really good. Stepping flying fairy butterfly
That seems to stick out in my head a lot more than other unique things he did.
Felix is really good.
Nick Laroche's CD is good to shred to.
John's summary does a good job so I'm going to stop with random chilly philly occurances.
The weather is so ridiculous here for January. I could have played outside at 9am today because it's so warm. I've never seen anything like it. Plus we've had the two largest floods in the last 40 years within 4 months of eachother, putting a nearby town underwater.
I'm too tired to play usually. 2 jobs and school consume most of my free time anyways. I want to skool some things though like flip fairy and everything else footbag related because my game needs some tweaking.

Nah, I don't care. I'm just always surprised when people I've never met already know who I am. Thanks though.
I played between classes today. Stepping sets were kinda floating around which is strange for me because they usually aren't easy. I didn't do much more because I didn't want to get really sweaty.
My statistics professor is old and trails off in the middle of sentences which means that I think I'm going to have to learn all this stuff on my own.

Brad
I thought I was rid of shin splints, after hitting Chilly Philly hard, it seems they've come back a bit. I even let my legs rest a bit. I played tonight after 5 or so nights of rest and damn did I feel the old sensation of pain. Sooner or later my left leg is going to have to stop being a fussy bitch, and grow up.
Onto tonight's session. Brad said he was all tired, but he still managed to drag his lazy ass down here. I too was tired since Counter-Strike: Source kept me up last night, and I had 2 hours of physics, 2 hours of Anatomy, 1 hour of Math, 1 hour of English, and one hour of psychology (Did I mention work and footbag ?) today. SO yeah, tired, tired.
Although my session died short because of leg pain I managed to pop off, Pixie ss pickup > fairy ss legover bsos. They were all no plant so there were 4 added bonus style points in there. I also managed to peel off some grifters , unfortunately only on one side. I couldn't get my other side to dex it right, I think my energy level was just down.
As for Brad, lets see, it's hard to tell what he hit because he hits about 50 big moves each night and it's hard to remember and which to tell about. I know he busted ripped warrior bsos. He also had a nice symposium SS double over down. His stepping sets were looking pretty strong and effortless at first, it looked like he was getting tired later though. He tried to teach my spinning, again, for the umpteenth time. Oh yeah, I still blow at it. Brad if you can remember anything else, post it up, I know you have something in your head. And if you don't, then start editing that set vid !!! Sorry for nagging, but seriously, don't Jordan this project, it's been what, 1-2 months ? That video has a purpose, not to make people laugh for just a bit of time like his videos, but to help people become better. Help those poor souls !!!
