GLASS - Two things:
1) What is it? a competition or just a series of events?
2) Yeah I can definitely come. It has been confirmed. But I'm not driving. Noooo way.

I've spoken to Aric about an RFA video being posted soon. Two things will have to apply: First, We can't use the footage from Aric's apartment since it was terribly shot (my bad) and the lighting was a little off. So I say we take moving pictures of us playing legball FO REEL this time. Secondly, I send it to steve or aric so that they can edit it. I'd feel much better ruining my own video than a video with the talent that we have in the Rocha chister region of New York (the Empire State).

I'm going to have to erase the awesome footage of me and one of my friends making peanut butter and cherry smoothies. That was a fun time. Perhaps I can have a small clip of the blender going and then quickly switch to someone doing a blender. That'd be pretty kewl, n'est-ce pas?

I'm mostly free on friday if you all want to get together. Pat just told me 2pm would be good.

My neighbor saw me practicing in my driveway awhile ago and recently started a conversation about footbag. He works at a nearby high school and wanted to know if I'm interested in going there to teach it during gym class or something... he told me he'd find out more about doing that. Plus today I got an email from someone that goes to MCC who found my thing on .org and wanted to know about starting a 'hacky sac' club with his friends. Maybe some freestyle exposure will convert them... perhaps I should tell them about GLASS.

and that reminds me. GLASS. My girlfriend's senior art exhibition opening is on February 4th, and it's kind of a big thing so I can't miss it. Unfortunately I won't be able to go with you guys, but since it's not far away I can leave saturday morning and be shredding by the afternoon. And I'll surely need a place to stay that night.

I had a good drill session today. Red bull really helps get rid of grogginess (i've been sleeping in until like 2pm for the past couple of weeks, and I never play very well like that).

I've got a problem with string length, so I mainly worked on drilling stuff I already know. hit:
 parkwalk>dimwalk>blur>fear repeat a few times
 nearly 70 consecutive osii
 15 ripwalks, first and only try. my goal is to get 25
 blurry whirls all over the place
 eggbeaters are sexy. i need to work on those more

Also, I vow to hit Rubberman II before or during GLASS. Someone remind me of that in Toronto. And I want to hit at least 15-contact toe guiltless then too.

I want something new to work on. I'm open for suggestions... anything that I rarely/never do in shred is fair game.

Chris. . . 70 consequtive osiseses? How? I mean. . 8O how!!!? Isn't that like doing osiseses for 2 minutes straight? I don't know. . I think I'd get bored with that one. After like 30 or 40 straight I'd just stop and say, "Whelp! Looks like you have the osis on a nylon string around your finger!" and move on. But. . 70!

And let's see. Yes Rubber Man II is definitely attainable for you. . You'll probably do it tomorrow. Or maybe you'll pick up the bag after reading this post and do it. It's just that close. What was it? a move and a half away from completing?

I don't really know what you can do as a challenge. You should definitely see if you can become the best footbag player in the world. Beat Vasek at his own game. WoW. just typing that seems somehow blasphemus (sp). Odd.

Who's up for a legball invitational this week some time? It's been a while since we've had ALL the members of the RFA together. Usually just me, steve, aric, matt, and chris. There are more!

yes a nice big session would be... nice. Hell, I'd be satisfied if it were only us 5 regulars, since that doesn't even happen very often, but more would be nice.

I'm up for a nice session on thursday or friday. Let's coordinate; nobody's getting away from this one.

Dimwalk out of parkwalk...? I'm assuming you mean ripwalk, but for some reason I'm pointing it out.

Also, you're not drinking Red Bull before you play are you?

edit: pfft, only 70? I challenge you to 100 consecutive osii.
...actually, my record's only 40-something, but I think I can do it.

Chris, I'm also assuming as steven did, that's a phat drill!!! it's great that you're working on cool weird drills like that. that will definitely improve your string length. I'm definitely up for a big session this week. Also, tomorrow at 2:30 PM I'll be playing at a high school hacky sack club in Greece called Odyssey. You guys can look up the web site through google or something... does anyone want to try and make it out to this and blow some young minds with me? it will be fuuuuuuuuuuuuuun...

PSYCHED for GLASS... it's gonna be SO cheap, $22 canadian a night for awesome hostels with awesome players... Tom Mosher, Jorden, jon Haber, Toronto Crew... I hope jarrett hutton can make it, that kid is NUTS. see y'all there...

now, I need to know... WHO IS COMING IN MY CAR?

I have room for 4 others maximum. Paul A is planning on going to the GLASS session as well, I bet he'd like some people to drive up with. Don't forget your birth certifs and drivers liscenses....

yeah i meant ripwalk.
stephen, yes i drank it yesterday. it works like it's supposed to, and works well; helped me feel unshitty, but not something i'd make a habit of. and i'll do 100 osii today.
matt, i won't need a ride. although i'm considering taking the bus up on saturday morning instead of driving, and it'd be convenient to go back to roch in your car.

I have a feeling that I will be driving myne own car to GLASS since I got the go-ahead by my friend who goes to Queens and my parents who aren't so pissed off about kick till you're sick anymore. Which is always good. Otherwise I'd have accompanied Paul. That kat is kewl.

hey guys. I arrived at RIT about half an hour late and couldn't find anyone at any of the usual spots... I should've brought the phone. At least my trip wasn't entirely in vain, since I had to go to Henrietta anyway to pick up my new contacts (horray! no more shredding in glasses)

So I came back here and had a short session. I almost hit smear>fear>atomsmasher rpt a number of times, plus I hit 69 twice, once into a short string. Also worked on janiwalker, but every clean set was too low to do anything out of. oh, and I still havent done 100 osii.

That was the first time you've hit 69? Huh. And twice? Man, that just shows us how close you were. Just needed that extra burst of goodness and SMACK! hit it. Nice, though. Very very nice.

I think I've poured some footbag into the pot of Nazareth College. Not too much, unfortunately. The opening wasn't open far enough. . . ok so here's what I mean: There are these two girls that I've come to know and they want to play footbag (I asked them if it was just kicking it or if they wanted to actually get into freestyle. . they said freestyle 8) ) but I was talking to them the other night and they go, "We should MAKE footbags!! THAT"D BE AWESOME!" And I just sat back and fed them information about how a lot of people stitch bags and sell them and all that. They were happy to say the least. . . Just some local news in my Nazareth world since it is otherwise footbag-free.
new bag today.
