Best Feeling
So I was thinking about what the best feeling in footbag is. I think most people would say hitting new tricks, but to me, that really isnt that huge. Im more of a string player myself, so big tricks are rare, and when i hit them i have the components pretty down, so its not a huge leap of faith. I get a lot of satisfaction out of hitting hard combos/repeats, but i think the best feeling is the one i get after a super long session. Ill explain.
I think ive only had this feeling maybe 4 times, but its awesome. Ill be skooling for like 4 hours or something crazy, like an abnormally long session, and im just pushing and pushing and im on the verge of just being like "ugh! so tired!". Anyway, i get this massive hunger in my stomach, and i just push on through it and it grows into like this massive tingling thing. Its so weird. Then i finish my session and just eat so much stuff. Its awesome.
i dont know why i made a topic about this, but here you can say what you like best feeling wise when you play. I totally dig being hungry.

I like the feeling I (used to) get at the end of Worlds, when I've played every day for a week and I just have nothing left in my legs. I've mellowed a bit, not so gung-ho anymore(come on, I'm 30, give me a break), but it used to be that after a full five days, I'd get to thinking "okay, I've got to use it all up before I go home, don't bring anything home with you (by "anything" I mean any hint of strength or coordination that might exist in my legs). I love the feeling of satisfied exhaustion. I like to imagine myself like a tube of toothpaste that I've rolled up from the bottom and squeezed every last drop out of even the little corners.
Tonight I hit 144 consecutive basic flapper kicks. I hope thats the most anyone has ever done. I hope its the most by far. That felt pretty good too...

For me it's the feeling of my being fusing with the footbag. At that moment we no longer exist as a mere mortal and bag. We become a singular entity, independent of our realities. All the worries of tedium melt away and our mind relaxes in moment of clarity. Our power is infinite and the tricks flow like the ink of a shattered pen into the meadows of bliss. Even if the design only lasts an instant, the effect is infinite.

The best feeling I've had is arriving at a shred location where there's 20 or more people playing there already. The feeling of anticipation laeding up to the shred, and the comradery once there, I feel so at home.
Not even a shred location in some regards. When Ryan and I were walking through Montreal, carrying our luggage, following this guy who was showing us the way to the UQAM residence...arriving at the residence brought on a similar feeling. Looking for the Lavers, the footbag-related shirts, the people tossing a bag up and down in their hand. I can't wait for another event.
Montana, probably.

i'm with jon on this one. when i having played for like a straight 6 hours or something and my legs are just beat to shit. i have nothing left, walking is a chore, bending over to pick the bag up again is damn near impossible. this feeling of having giving all you had and being super happy about how hard you worked. i love hard work.
accomplishing a goal that you had been striving for for a long long time is another good one. you put in hours and hours and hours of practice, sacrifice, dedication, etc, and you finally did it and you're so proud.
hitting a new trick or a new combo doesn't stay with you as long, because you hit a "new trick" so many times that it really starts to lose it's meaning after a while.

The Best feeling I can think of would be playing with other shredders in like...front of a mall, or somewhere that people could watch, and gettin' a huge crowd around you, throwing money at your wanting more.

I am going to have to side with everyone here, I think footbag is the greatest feeling.
If I can bust my balls for hours to the point where my legs are too mush to put the tricks together anymore I feel so rewarded. I think to myself 'yeah! my determination outlasted my body!" and then I crumple to the floor and stretch because I know i worked hard enough to make it hurt real bad the next day.
I think that having 'on' days really helps in winding up in a clump of sweaty achievment.
Actually, I will say that my single most rewarding moment is when I flick my shoes off signalling the end of the session, indicating a job well done.
FUCK I love footbag! Yeaaaaaahhhh!!!

Helping someone hit their first mirage.
I have only lived this once, and I specify Mirage because I really consider it the first legitimate dex outside of ATW. It was at school and a kid was trying to for like half an hour, we had denied lunch and we just kicking hard. It was 5ish minutes after the bell rang and we decided we'd kick for only a little bit more. And then BAM he nails it and goes for a dragonfly kick and seals it. It was pretty neat.
I guess you could also just say helping someone learn something new.

The best feeling?
When I have lots of flow in my strings.. And when I can hit any trick out of any trick.
And sometimes there are some shred sessions when I can bust huge... over my avergae skills. When I can hit my hardest stuf midstring... I love that. And one more thing... When trick, which was hard one straining ago, or a few sessions ago, become a bail...
And when I drop on 1xx Superfly attempt and just pick up the bag and try it one more time...
Oh man.. I love everything in footbag...

When you wake up in the morning, drunk, dazed and confused, and you look over at your dirty, mouldy smelly lavers, and then you look at your mini abshire, and you think to yourself, damn, its good to be alive.

Do you ever lose conciousness of what you're doing mid-string? Tricks just flow together, which are at or sometimes beyond your level of play, without any thought whatsoever? Leaving you thinking, 'wow, that was a really cool combo. I would never have thought of doing that.'
This happens to me now and then, during those rare 'great' sessions. I imagine that the best players go 'autopilot' pretty often, and just let the flow take them.
It's a similar feeling to when you really lose yourself in musical improvisation, and play some line/phrase you don't recall ever hearing or even imagining before. Any musicians on the board agree?

shred and improve share lots of similarities. Except when you drop during shred you get to pass, when you drop during a solo its a bit scarrier. I only go for "big moves" when improvising with friends or alone.
BEST feeling:
props from shredders you admire. Especialy when you are told afterword by a legend how much they enjoyed the shred together... Goosebumps!
