Spacing out Toe walls

Post by HG »

Well imleaving the toe walls on my new lavers. I am still very frustrated with them, because they are no wider than my bags. So any set is terrible difficult.

Can you share some secrets on how to separate the toe walls?

Put a straw on the shoe lace to seperate the sides to the width you want. The straw will wear out, but it should be good for a while and help you out.

I have seen people do that with a cut piece of pen.

Same thing though.

Pen sound the best so far.

I used to beads duct taped together. It didn't work that well so I don't recommend it.

Also I heard that if you slip floppy disk on the toe deck when the shoes arn't in use that helps too.
I think I going to take over Canada. You should help.

Any type of tubing would work. I use rubber tubing from the plumbing section. If you've looked at my site, there is a modification tutorial for the tubing mod. Part of the mod is spreading out the toe. Use whatever works though, tubing, pen, mechanical pencil, etc.

There's no real need for the pen or tubing... If you loosen up the lowest lace (before the toe box -- at eyelet 4 or wherever you choose) and make tighten the laces that pull the walls open, you consequentially make a much larger toe box.

The problem with that is, at least with my shoes before I cut the eyelets off, it will slip back down after 10-20 minutes. I didn't that.

Weird, because I can make a 2-2 1/2" toe box that doesn't wear down after time no problem...
