Haha. Iowa is quite a ways from Toronto, but I'd like to attend GLASS. However, I have no money, and I really want to try to make it out to CSS6.

Is there any place on the net that you can buy a footbag shirt?

okay i understand that tom is leaning towards a hotel now, but i just thought i should post this. the NY guys are driving and would probably like free indoor parking and a roof over their heads for the whole weekend for $14USD a night pp.

here's the link to the site, and they have availability at the moment...

http://www.hostels.com/en/availability. ... umber.1834

they have a pool table, full kitchen where we can cook our own meals to keep the cost down, free net access, lockers, etc.

i would also like to point out you can make group requests for sporting groups and book every one in at once.

there are of course down sides to the hostel. a hotel would be much better for things like privacy, partying in the rooms for the under agers, smokables, and we could all pile into a hotel room and cut the cost down to about 10 bucks a head for the whole weekend, but we wouldn't all have our own beds now would we? just some things to think about.

nice find andrew. either hostel would be cool (free parking is awesome)... my own bed is always nice, and since im bringing a friend she would also appreciate the bed. we need to get this organized fast though.

need to find out who needs a place to stay
when they are all arriving/leaving

then decide where so that we can book it now, and try for that group deal

Hahahahah
That's so funny!

I posted the link to that hostel earlier and then Johnny went hunting and found some stuff then came up with his "ultimate find" or whatever and it was that same as well!

It seems that we all saw it as a good deal!

That is the exact hostel that I suggested somewhere earlier in this thread. I think it sounds pretty good AND it's right down the street from the school we are thinking of renting gym space from.

If we are going to use the gym space on Saturday then it will cost like $280 or so for 7 hours.

I suppose we also have to charge some entrance fee.

We talked about maybe having two different levels, competing and just playing. Initially we talked about having another level for just people that wanted to watch. But that is so self-defeating if we are trying to expose people to footbag, we should encourage them to play with us, not just watch.

But will people that are just intending on coming to watch want to pay the full entry fee?

Is $10 Canadian reasonable? Based on our rough guesses of the possible turnout that would be enough to cover the price of the gym and possibly enough to have some prizes and stuff.

I plan on making some bags to bring to sell for cheap (since I am still new to stitching I can't morally charge much) and I know that Johnny Superman has stabbed up some choice new Suderbags.

I have a GLASS t-shirt contract all set up and I am about to go through with an order for a bunch of shirts. I hope I get enough/not too many. You know what I mean? Also I will bring lots and lots of

OK, So what I need to know is peoples opinion of that hostel. It is in a BITCHIN location, I promise. Kensington market is amazing.

Now it is your turn to tell me what you all want, the majority gets their way.

GO!

tom, i so want some pins man!!! and a shirt!!!

tom, do you guys have sponsors? if you don't i think you should charge more than 10 bucks! i'll gladly pay 15 to compete. maybe make it 15 bones to compete since there is the chance to win prizes, 10 to play (by play i mean the people who come FOR the event and just want to shred, not like people who come to check it out and kick a bit. they toss some cash to the organizers as a "thank you for throwing the event") and nothing for the odd person who stumbles upon it, or who can be recruited to come check it out and learn about the sport.

as to lodgings, i just like the sound of 17 bucks a night and a bed to my self. you say the location is good (bars? clubs? etc?) so i'll take your word for it. is it with in walking distance from the gym? it could save us money on subway tickets from the hotel that way.

Tom, just pick something solid, and go with it. just make the plans. We're talking about a difference of a few dollars over the course of the weekend, just give us something solid to plan with. you know what the best places are, just pick one of those.

You wouldn't believe how absolutely close the school gym I found is to the hostel!!! It is LITERALLY around the corner, maybe a 2 minute walk. I think that $10 for those who want to play is reasonable, but for shirts, I am not sure... I think it would be cool to include the shirts in the overall cost, so Tom, just let us know how much each shirt will run... And $15 for those competing is awesome, then the prizes will be decent.

Pins are cool too :)

Everyone thinks the last one is the coolest right??

That is what I wanted and I really had to lobby hard for it.

I am sorry for being such a slave driver Adam! :D You sure do pretty work though!

Hahah, you can totally imagine what I must have told you between revisions.
