btw, tom.....facile's also pretty wide. a couple inches like 4 like you said by about 45 or so inches....sorry I don't know metrics. but they also have extra-wide facile ......fields fabrics

yeah dudes, he's not kidding. the 32 he made is the bomb! it was totally playable on it's first day. also, its full of metal shot, so its REALLY heavy. that's cool though.

I made another 32.

This one is ridiculous. It feels totally broken in right away. I used some "softsuede" for the hexes and some other faux suede for the pents. I bunched it real tight, I wonder how much it will expand.

I washed the other one with fabric softener last night, it softened the fabric.

I still can't frigging believe I made TWO footbags happen. They look just like real 32's too. On my second one you can't see the last stitch at all.

Pfft, 32's are just another trick to hit.

I related them to a five add today chatting with the cleaver. I said they looked intimidating, but really they just take a bit of focus and practice and in time it will work out. Also, the end result is pretty bad ass.

I can't wait to shred with the new 32 I made, it is light cream hexes and dark red pents. The first one was dark red hexes (a diff material) and beige pents. They look like they are inverses of eachother but they are totally different materials and it makes a BIG difference!

Whee! Footbag!

Ooh, I am all dolled up for a thingy that Liane is throwing tonight. I have a tie on! I will let you guys know how that goes.

i loooove 32s. wish i could stitch them, im not the best stitcher, well i can stitch, just not take the time to cut all the shapes out.... i should invent a press that cuts the shapes out easyly.

props tom! You already got ahead of me in stitching! It's been about 2-3 weeks since i finished and snapped my other one and I still haven't finished my other 32! Props and happy stitches.......btw, hehe don't forget about shred!

its funny that you would say that! i don't want to steal Tom's thunder, but that's almost exactly what he did! its so brilliant - no wonder we're mechanical engineers! he got a magnet for a template that he just cuts around. how perfect is that?

Fancy dress up events are the best!!!

I was talking to camille today and it appears as if the venue for Glass is coming together.
We may have to rent a building(school) as they have a perfect and air conditioned gymnasium with uber sticky floor. No slippery lamitnated wood for us!

I think i will go shred now.....

Sen: For my 4-panel bags I just use the pattern that Stephen Blair posted, it's so easy. I made my own 32 panel templates on my computer, I wanted to be 100% original.

And yes, as Jared mentioned I did make a set of magnetic templates, you just snap em onto the material and then cut around them. This is an efficient method for now, I have ideas however.

I just realised a few minutes ago that I can't find my new Felix bag.

On the bright side, the 32 I made yesterday is SO broken in feeling already, I can't wait to shred with it.

I went to Liane's thing last night. When we got there there was a real chill chick doing a solo thing on her guitar, it was nice. Liane looked stunning as usual. I still get so word-retarded around her, all I can do is rapidly fire out things I want to say and I trip over them all over the place and she makes me so nervous that I can't be witty and so I never say anything cool around her.

What frustrates me is that she still has no idea how fucking amazing I am. I assume she thinks I am one dimensional (and that dimension, as I have made it clear, is footbag) and that I probably don't have thaaaat much to offer. But FUCK, I am a fucking rockstar on the inside, a fucking mogul, a god damned magnet of amazing.

There was this dude there that I have always wanted a reason to dislike. He dresses sorta wierd like me and he has always stood out my whole time at Queen's. Apparently he and Liane are friends, it totally looked like they were into eachother, le sigh. I need to quit obsessing and just take what comes to me. Fighting for something that is ambiguous at best is dumb. I bet that guy plays a guitar and has lots of funny things to say, apparently that's all that counts.

Is my hope fleeting? I'm not sure. But hope for what? Friendship? Fucking? All I hope for now is to not let myself get wrapped up in something silly that will just get me hurt.

I thought girls wanted guys with skills.

No footbag happened yesterday, I was a little busy with stuff.. or something. and I had three shred sessions the day prior.

I think double downs look so frigging bad ass. I am so excited to be hitting them now. They look so dramatic, non-shredders can tell that something exciting is going on.

I feel like for the last several months I have hardly progressed.
Well.. I have progressed far in certain components but I still fucking suck in so many ways.

I twisted my ankle before Philly and that clipper has been such a bitch ever since. There is slight pain involved in cranking it over, though not really in the part of the foot that was injured. Also I just keep lining up the bag with the wrong part of my shoe! arg! i need to do some more mods to my climas but the tools I need are in Oakville. The problem is the stripes on the inside surface stick out in a certain way that it bounces the bag away when I am trying to catch it. Uhhm.. I explained that shitty, regardless, I need my dremel.

Also, ever since that clipper went retarded any set from that foot got alot harder. Harder in the sense that it doesn't go where I think I am aiming it.
I keep tossing whirls away and low which forces me to do it the because I can't reach the damn bag. This foot is also proving to be the hugest source of my rage whislt attempting to get spinning clippers down.

They are dependably hittable on one side, I know precisely what it feels like to do it right I just can't convince the other foot to feel like the good one.

I just remembered something cool. I mentioned that I hit blurriest the other day, I hit it with the 32 I made, that's so sick.

I think eventually I aim to be self-sufficient and just make all my own bags. That way I will feel less bad about losing them and i can save money.

Hey.. money..

I am SO broke, I owe hundreds to people all over the world. My intensions are in the right place of course, I WILL pay everyone back in time.

Maybe I should start selling 32's... hmmmm I like this idea...

I need some facile, stat!

I will get to work making oodles more 32's until I am a ninja with the thread and spike, then I will sell them and solve all my problems.

PS we have a club meeting tonight, yesssssss. I am excited to see what progress the boys have made. Liane said that she can't make it. (She actually had a good reason) But that doesn't mean that the real militia won't show. These boys are hardcore.

I just remembered some more stuff from last night.

There was this band playing, they were a two-piece with a drummer and a bassist. I found that they were definately enjoyable and they had me moving pretty good at times. They announced that they were tomate potate, a band I had heard about from Liane's show. Before their last song they said that the person that danced the hardest would get a free CD of theirs. I remember thinking to myself 'gee whiz, I like these guys, I'd buy a CD but I am broke.' They played the last song and it was indeed quite dance-able, I figured that one of the other two dancers won until 5 minutes after thier set the drummer came up to me and told me that I won the dance competition! Yay!! I totally got a free CD and became friends with the drummer guy. His name was Devon and I made him have to remember mine by quizzing him on it. He was fun and wierd.

I had alot of fun dancing, I decided this summer that I really like dancing however the fuck the music makes me move. I don't give a crap who is around, I always dance like nobody is watching and it feels so good. When the music goes in it has to come out in some way.

I love how music compliments footbag so well too. When your feet land with the beat and the tricks just happen it can't be topped.

I hope I play well tonight at the club meeting.

I plan on working on:
- ducking clippers, I have a feeling this will help my shitty spin sets
- barflies, I want them to be like butter (flies)
- spins, they look so cool and are totally non-existant in my game
- swirls, I was drilling them before then I stopped, I want toitnfast swirls
- atomic tricks midstring, I just have to remember that I can do them.. mostly
- paradons in strings, I always forget I can do them and they look so cool

I think that girls do like guys that are interesting with skills, at least the girls that are really worth it, so don't worry Tom. All things work out well in the end I truely believe that, just keep being your cool self.

And as for thr dancing, I totally agree, dancing however music makes you feel is the best ever, it makes you feel so free, and that is awesome that you can do that, some people just can't because they're too scared about what everyone else is going to think. But that's just silly.

Maybe there is truth in what you are saying, I just got home from my club meeting and on the door to my room was a note from Liane!

it's the small things that count the most.

The note is in pretty pink Liane writing, here is a good quote "sorry I couldn't make footbag". Awww

Apparently the musical she missed my meeting for sold out and she didn't get in! That's karma.

Speaking of my meeting, it was FUCKING AWESOME!

Derrick, Jared and Hugh made it out. This is the real hardcore posse.
They all shred in lavers now and they all have skillllls!

Let me give you an update on each shredder in the Kingston Footbag Militia.

Derrick Ogden:
He has been shredding for a little over four months now and he is looking great! he really grasps concepts well and throws down some really hard stuff. I have seen him hit assasin and pheonix and bsos ripwalks and fear and atomsmasher and swirls allll both sides! He has a really good foundation of basics on both sides, he just needs to have more confidence in what he can do. He tossed out a few good strings today, all the tricks he does are sooooo clean too! He is totally biting my style and that's fine because I have such amazing style.

Jared Mackay:
Holy shit did this guy impress us all today! He has been playing a couple months now and he made leaps and bounds tonight. His control is really improving, as are his clippers. I saw him hit butterfly>far legover a few times and butterfly>infinity (holy shit!) and he had a few groundbreaking strings tonight where he tossed out legovers, mirages, clippers, pickups between toe stalls, holy crap! the strings were meaty and impressively long. He put down a bunch of bsos mirages and got really close to illusions right away. Also, he has super clean style too! What a blessing!
Expect alot more from this guy in the future too, he is living with me in a shred house next year! yeeeaahh!!!!

Hugh Callaway Martin:
You won't believe the progress this dude is making. he is so incredibly focussed and determined to get amazing at footbag. He plays solidly 45 -60 mins every damn day! He has really relaxed his style as his comfort level with the bag has increased. He hit bsos mirages today a few times after having played for like.. a frigging week! holy shit! He hit some clippers tonight too. Hugh has this idea that by april he wants to be good enough to incorporate footbag into a play he is writing. He is a very dedicated actor who gets *very* into his roles. Hugh will most certainly blow us all away one day. Speaking of which, years ago hugh and I agreed that one day we would both have A&E Biography's and appear in the other persons one. haha, it's a goal!

Get this, tonight Tom hit: ripstein several times both sides, whirling swirl both sides, symposium whirling swirl both sides, merkon both sides, spinning paradox mirage *cough*one side*cough*, three x weak spinning clipper, two x strong spinning clipper, bsos spinning allll over the place, paradon's like a motherfucker, barfly>barfly finally, blurriest on command for derrick, belly high toe smiling set, footed alpine tapdown and pixie legbeater a miiiillllliioooon times both sides... yeah I don't know, that's enough bragging.

So get this, the bag I made yesterday is now a bag I consider to be on par with the choicest bags I have ever felt/shredded with. See, that sounds great right? Wrong. I made it yesterday, that means the break in time was zero seconds. Break in time is often proportional to bag life. After session number one several panels have holes.

Only in the hexagons however, they are made of softsuede, which is apparently too flimsy for strong footbags. I want to go back to fabricland soon and stock up on all the wierdo suedes I can find and try out stuff until I get some facile.

I still have the facile that Felix gave me, I am so afraid to use it, I want to wait until I am really good before I use the sacred fabric. And how frigging generous is that?? Felix is such a great guy, he made me a custom bag and gave me enough to make one myself. He asked me one time who my favorite shredder was and I was too shy to tell him it was him.

He's so cool in so many ways! he is incredible at all the things he does, I like that kind of people, they are inspiring. (and sometimes inspinning)

I am afraid to keep shredding with this new 32, it is going to live such a rockstar life and just burnout. Also, the holes may be due in part to the fact that I didn't filter my rocks thaaaaat much before filling it. I could have picked out the sharpies a little more if I wanted. Ahh well, I was excited and I wanted it filled right away.

Hey, isn't this silly Liane saga entertaining? I am already gettng jealous and shit, I wonder how stupid I will get about this in the future. Drama city, next stop!

PS Ken, my barflies feel a whooooole lot more like butterflies after tonights session. I find that thinking of them as paradox illusions that I fall over in one whip helps me out. I do a big sweep on my double downs, I frigging love that style.
