Hello hello! My name is Martin, and I am the creator of these cool things:

With valentines coming up I made a whole bucket of these things. Now I seem to have too many of them. I have a few on eBay up for grabs

Your site works fine and looks great (i'm definitely a fan of the scale-mail shirt) but the link to your store always leads to an "unable to connect to database server" error. Yeah, the hosting is a royal PITA.

I had prepaid for 6 months, and until its up for renewal I cant really go anywhere else because it wasted money then.
It's hit and miss. One hour its working, then next it gives errors.

As I am writing this it seems to be working...
Now email through this hosting company, heh, I wont even start on that topic its so bad...

And yeah, the scale shirt is really sweet. It deserves a page of its own, but I havent had any time to really work on it. And I need to get many more nice pictures of it.

Hi Martin!

I was wondering if you would be willing to do a custom order?

I have an idea for a possible chain mail bag. Would it be possible to make a slightly smaller than normal sized chain bag with rubber coating? I am unsure what the surface of your rubber coating comes out like but if it would produce a less active bag that would be interesting to try.

Perhaps a finer mail would work well also.

What do you think?

You mean something like this?

The blue rings are anodized aluminum, and the black rings are neoprene rubber.

It's real squishy and bouncy.

I have enough rubber rings to make about 1-2 of these. Then I will have to find some more. I have had lots of requests to make more of these, so I will probably get started again.

Because they are more complicated to make and take way longer, they cost a bit more than the all metal bags. The rubber rings are solid, so it makes it tricky to put them all together.
Anyways, these rubber hacks cost $20US, and I can make them out of any of these colors of metal, and black rubber rings.
So it will look just like the one in the pic, but instead of blue rings, any color you want. I only have black rubber rings at the moment, but if you are willing to wait a few weeks, I can also get white rubber rings too. Although IMO black looks the best

Martin, is the 'neoprene' like the stuff they use on most O-Rings? That sounds like a really Über bag! I hope I can cough up some $ soon. I wanna get some droppings for myself!

Great job making these things! I know some other 'metal' bags online but are crap compared to this!

Actually the majority of O-Rings that one can find are made out of Nitrile. Its a cheap form or artificial rubber. Neoprene is of much higher quality, and can take much more punishment. Check out http://allorings.com/material_selection.htm for details on each rubber type if you are interested. I get mine from a local place, but that site has a good rundown of all the types.

Yeah, the reason that I started making these was when I saw someone selling these craptastic hacks for close to $35-40 a piece.

They were made out of cheap iron wire form Home Depot, and rusted like crazy when they touched water.

If I charge so much for a hack it's because there is a good reason. Like the titanium hacks, they contain around $20-25 worth of titanium. Then there was that one custom ordered sterling silver hacky, that cost me about $70 in silver...

don't worry about the prices. I know some stitchers are working on secret bags that can jack up the price to a Ben Franklin ($100)

Zach unless i'm mistaken I dont think martin is a freestyler, just advertising to a large community of ppl who might find his products useful. I'm interested, as well in how they perform, might eventually pick up one of those with the neoprene.

And the "secret bag" littleboy was referencing is Abshire's new bag that he has been working on, i think he calls it neo.. but don't quote me on that. I wonder how that one is coming.. last I heard he was still testing.

Martin, about how much do your smaller chainmail bags weigh?

While I do fix/replace them for free if they fall apart from normal use, I dont cover extreme, or stupid cases. Ex, the dingbat that played baseball with his, and sent me back a bag of short nubs of wire.

Ever since I discovered this forum I have been reading up though. So hopefully soon I will be up to speed.

As for weight, I can make you an aluminum one as light as 1.5oz, or a steel one as heavy as 12oz. Even heavier if you really want.
