Electric? Frettless? Upright? Jazz? Punk? Fx? Bass clarinet? Tuba?
I have a 1969 Fender Jazz Bass. I don't have an amp yet. I just ordered an Electro Harmonix Bass Micro Synth (do you know what that is?) I just sold my PA system for 500 so I can buy a bass amp. What is a good amp? They are all so expensive! I would like an ampeg portable head but thats still 600-700 dollars! I'll probably get some combo amp for 350 or so. I'm in a band now. I am the BASSIST! I play BASS. I write my own BASS parts. Oh god its good. Our first show is on the 29th of this month so I'll need an amp before then. WOOOO! I also wanna get a chorus petal, a wah, a sustainer, and a delay. Not all at once, I can't afford it. Also, I want an upright, but I dont have an extra 1000 !!!!!!!!!

Not that you asked, but if you're lookig for a good funk/rock technique book/cd, you should check out "Slap It", its probably on amazon.
Fender, peavy and crate all make pretty good combos in that price range. I have the Fender bassman 100 and it works fine for garages/small venues and you can probably go through the PA for bigger jams.QuantumBalance wrote:I'll probably get some combo amp for 350 or so. !

yay Ill tell you.
One of my mom's employees was out driving in some crappy neiborhood, and through the window of a mexican meat market, he saw this crappy bass all black and shiity hanging there. So he went in because he is a drummer and checked it out and noticed it was a "fender jazz bass" and looked pretty old, so he bought it (for 150) and brought it back and we took it to a guitar place where they completely took it apart, identified it as 1969 and then gave us just the body, which my mom refinished in her furniture shop that cool color, and we also added a new pick guard cuz the old one was messed up.
then later my friend borrowed it at the cost of taking it to a bass place and having it perfectly intonated and fixed up
then a bit later i took it to dr music where they fixed one small thing and reintonated with flatwound strings
AND TODAY IM GETTING A FREE ELECTRIC UPRIGHT BASS OMG! well im "borrowing" it from soemoen who doesnt play.. ill take you a picture!!
