Eh, I never remember anything specific from sessions. I worked 6 hours and went to Accounting class for 2 before footbag so I wasn't in full gear to play.
All I was going for tonight was form and it's fucking exhausting! I now understand what Ales was talking about. It does make my stepping sets unusually strong which, I suppose, means I've been doing them wrong my entire footbag career. I could always do ripped warriors and whatnot but it always took a lot of effort. The bag just kind of floats up there now.
It was hot in the room just like outside this afternoon (70F in January!!!!!).

Sorry Mosher, I don't have the funds, also a bit short on time too. But throw in some HoodluM combos and have lotsa fun for me !
Onto tonight, I haven't shred in about a week I believe. I've been busy to hell with work and school. Oh, and a party on Tuesday which I shall regret forever. I couldn't have felt more like shit on Wed. morning at school. Although playing Kareoke on PS2 was pretty damned fun, I got to blast away The Darkness, those fun notes are so high, and the only way I can hit the highest ones is if I go an octave lower, or scream extremely loud, and that's what I did every time. Tonight's shred was pretty damned fun, because I've been deprived of it for too long. I only played for about 1 hour, I didn't drill any, I just played. I always laughed at people that would complain about not playing for a week and feeling that their game slipped in that week, because I only played once a week or so. Now though, I shall complain, my game slipped !!! Hopefully I can get into the swing of shred a couple times a week again, I want to emphasize on flipside more. I'm tired of dropping on that side, and having it feel harder, or limiting my combos when it hits my flip toe.
Onto the random good news, I believe it was the 13th of January that the high was 70 degrees, that was shorts weather, weather to shred outside. Now it is the 20th and we've been getting constant snow, and we're supposed to get a couple inches tonight, and more throughout the weekend. You may be asking, is that good or bad news, well.... it's GOOD NEWS !!! The bad news is that I can't afford to go to the mountains to skiboard or snowboard, although, I can go to the mountains and frolic in the snow. And while my friends are money'ing it up down the mountains, I'll be at the lodge shredding, gettin the snowboardin, skiin ladays. Ok, let's be realistic, I'll prolly be shredding and then kicking with some guy that's like, " I used to play hackysack when I was in highschool. "
Brad, video reminder, once that horrid sets vid is done, let's make a fun video

Brad and I sessioned after work, for about 2 hours. I would have cut it shorter, but I was working on flip weaving osis, DAMN I could not hit that trick for the life of me. I did eventually hit it, I hit a couple new moves with weaving, because I've never tried it. Also hit Zulu something or other
Brad was again trying to show me the ease of stepping sets and spinning, of course I never really pick up either. I'm sure soon enough, something will start to click with those components, until then it's inconsistant stepping, and me looking like a drunk while spinning. I can't remember all what Brad hit, I know he hit ripped warrior > food processor, and a bunch of other neat stuff.
I found out flip fairy after my illusions are quite difficult, I tried crispy double fairy > crispy double fairy, and my knee met my elbow quite hard, my knee lost. Also tried Smudge to fudge, again, had trouble with the flip fairy after the illusion. I guess I hit diving whirl, but I'm not a big fan of whirls, I've seen over 1 million whirls so far, and I'm just not impressed with them compared to other components. Also, the paradox part, I no longer like paradox concept adds, because for 50 % of paradox tricks, initially, yes, it feels hard and paradox. BUT, once you start to get the feel for the trick, it's equally hard, I don't know ,I'm just mad because I didn't play well in Counter-Strike tonight,
You know, Paradox drifter / drifter, same difficulty for me. Bubba / paradox illusion , same for me. Ohh, there's a ton of paradox tricks that can just suck it. Blurry whirl vs stepping whirl. Ps whirl vs S whirl. Ok, ok, ok , you get the idea, I just don't like the inconsistancy of the add system, make it all go away !!!

I played on my own for 45 minutes. I did tapping pickup<tapping legover<tapping legover<tapping pickup which I thought was a cool drill. It was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be so I'm going to use it as part of my warmup when I play.
I'm writing a speech for tomorrow so that was a good break.

I kicked tonight after work, felt really good ! I played for about 1hour and 15 minutes. For the first 45 minutes ,I warmed up and just shred to some Real Jazz music on XM radio, got me movin and flowin pretty well. Then I wanted to play a little harder so I bumped the music to The Move on XM.
I don't think I hit anything crazy, but I did manage to pull off paradox dlo > eggbeater off both sides, it felt great having the atomic set come up so perfectly. After that I did 39 butters, that may sound boring, but I feel that I need to get it to where 50 isn't so hard, since that stalling component is a high percentage of my game. I was getting quite pissed at my stepping set, but later once I had my energy going, they seemed to finally come up, to where I could string them in. I'm with Alex S. on how those sets have never been consistant. I learned them on my left side, then I had knee problems, learned them on my right side, and now I have to relearn it with my left side, and I seem so weak that it never really comes along. So both sides lack, but I do have faith in them, like every other set I try, except for spinning. I feel that, quantum sets, barraging, flip fairies, etc. etc. will all come along after time and practice, but spinning is on it's own little world. A world where progession isn't found in the dictionary, a world where confusion is found each time you turn your head quickly, a world where simplicity is complex, etc. etc.
On a side note, Bobby G., have you been shredding ?? Update the blogger, and if you haven't...GO SHRED !!!
and brad - *reminder for the sets vid* ! Also, the PS2 you sold Tribby doesn't work properly, it gave out on DDR, and Kareoke, so he'll prolly want his money back. The ole Read Disc Error has taken claim to another old PS2.

I just bought a plane ticket to CSS. I'm pretty excited about that. East coast is awesome, but it's cool to hang out with the guys from the west every now and then. I was surprised how cheap the tickets were for a non-stop flight. I wasn't trying to go for a non-stop flight, but they cost just as much as 1 or 2 stops. Who in their right mind would pick a 2 stop flight over a non at the same price?

Me too, Nate!
I played for 2 hours on my own yesterday! I know, I was surprised too. I played 3 different times throughout the day, but it all added up to 2 hours or so. I just didn't feel satisfied after stopping the first two times. I was trying to get all my sets better. I seem to rush myself too much on everything coming from my left toe. When I slow down, they work great.
For me, the sweet spot for spinning is in the middle of your foot or more towards the heel. As long as the bag isn't near the curved edge that starts around the knuckles of your toes, the set goes up straight. That actually is the sweet spot for all of my clipper tricks so
I just try to be aware of it when I'm doing a spinning trick that needs a really good set like whirlwind or something.
As far as strings went, I toned down difficult combos in exchange for length and variety. I did gyro dlo<fairy same symp mirage which I thought was pretty cool.
I can't remember anything else. I want to be able to play more often since I'm going to CSS. Are we kicking tomorrow, John?

Yup, it's Friday night clinical as usual. I'll edit this later after I play tonight.
Edit : Well tonight was fun, played for about 1.5 hours with some bumpin music. Right now is pretty cool, my buddy Mikey is goin off with some Atreyu, since I've got some speakers hooked up with 2 mics. "where's the bitches at ?" Well, I've got an answer, very far away from my rockin room. He sure is a screamer...one of those hardcore growlin high pitch screamin fools. Mikey says," give me a random word." I reply,"uhhh....popsicle." 1 second later - Mikey screams with superb foorce. " PPPPOOOOOOOOOOSSSIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCLEE !!!!! " And of course continues to scream it in different pitches with the song, singing how he likes popsicles.
Soo...footbag. I finally hit drifter>paradox drifter repeat, didn't look perfect, but it will soon enough. I have all the components down well, I just don't have solid sets and control directly after finishing the pivot on the drifters. I thought it was pretty fun, because I wasn't really pacing myself. I wanted to get out of the clinic within an hour, even though I didn't. I played my usual game today, inconsistant with a couple fun strings here and there. Hit Fairy SS Symp mirage midstring first try, didn't feel hard, but hey, new move. I couldn't manage to get my flipside to do it though. My left leg couldn't comprehend the whole setting > symp mirage. I finally hit a good feeling flip dyno, I've hit them numerous times, but they always feel delayed and shaky when I do hit them, but that one was different, bigger controlled dexes. That means progress, yay ! My spinning was feeling pretty good, I believe I read it in Laroche's post, how he was giving tips on spinning. I totally agree and see it in people's spins, really using their support leg , even leaning over some to get into the set. I think he was talking about double spinning, but it helps me keep a good straight set and popping my body into the right position.
Brad had his good and bad today, I can't remember all of his strings, but I do remember cheering for him through many of his strings. I do remember him gettin pretty pissed about his pixie sets, especially his flip. I understand that, I too am still getting my flipside down. Unfortunately I have definite strong sides and flip sides. The good part though, is if I can hit it strong side, for most things, I can hit it flipside, just not as well. As I posted before , I'm just going to keep working at all those flip components. The bad part though about working on components is I'm not a big advocate of schooling, I'll try something here and there a couple times, but I'm not very good at drilling the hell out of it, UNLESS I find it fun. If it's not, well, i save it for another day. Thanks for kickin with me again Brad, always fun !!!

As for today, my neck hurts pretty bad from wrestling with Mikey, he beat me up twice, left scratches on my neck, and a bruised eye. That's what happens when you're bored on a Sunday and you mouth me while I'm watching Balto, I beat you up !! And get beaten in the process, but it's ok, cause i'm a ragdoll.
I decided I wouldn't let pain get in the way of my game, even though I had 5 classes today and work, and I still have about 3 more hours of studying. I've really been bogged down lately from school work, haven't been eating as healthy, and haven't been exercising like usual, so I switched it up today by footbagging and lifted. I'm gonna try to keep my health as tip top as I can, no matter what. So if a mountain so happens to get in my way, I'll climb it, and then shred on top of it. Todays session I hit flip pixie op drifter for the first time, then I hit it bsos. I didn't play really long, because like I said, I have a lot more things to do T___T. Also tried some stepping ss clippers on both sides. I'm going to drill those a lot more, since I've been reading Alex's footblog. I did some ducking and diving, it was really difficult since it was so stiff and sore. They were a little thinner than usual, and slower.
I got my roommate Tribby to kick with me some today also, it's the second time he's done it. He comes to workout, but I can tell he likes kicking. He used to kick back in Jr. high / High school so he has jesters and some regular kicks, he is pretty strong sided, but he can still use his left foot. It's pretty fun kicking with him cause he really likes some of my combos even though he doesn't know what is going on. I'm hopin I'll eventually be able to teach him a couple basics, if he's willing.

John you need to get on MSN sometime so we can set up a CS game. Do you like scoutzknivez or iceworld? I love custom maps but if you arent down with them i can do dust, assault, anything. I just love CS. Its my 2nd favorite thing. 1st is definitely foot. bag.
JSACK wrote:alright well me and obara'bars, shredded our dicks off, since we are both in high school, obviously there is some sort of talent show
I love custom maps and regular hostage and bomb maps. De_dodgeball is pretty damned fun, towers, Mcdonalds, etc. I'm not home a ton because of how busy I am, but when I'm home, I'll sign on MSN. I'm always on AIM, so if you want to leave a message or something, I should get it later. This week is a bit hectic, but if I do play , it'll be around night time. 9-midnight'ish, East Coast time.

I played yesterday for a long time and took today off because I was sore. I'm trying to prepare for CSS and not slack off by the time it comes around. I even made up a pretty amibitious shred 30 for myself. I just wrote it down a few minutes ago. Since I haven't tried it before, I know I can do atleast the first 16 tricks on my first try. The rest will either be pure practice or not very hard because they are combos I still normally do. Maybe I'll have to revise some of it. The score is ridiculous which is my first clue that I'll have to revise it though it seems possible in my head
Aw fuck it, I'm doing it!
I picked up guitar again. I've been thinking that my game is nearing it's peak and I'll need something as a hobby when I can't footbag anymore. I'm starting early because I don't want to begin from scratch when I quit shredding, just when it phases out, I can smoothly transition to shredding my guitar. I'm terrible at the moment because I never kept up with it, but I think after how every many years it takes for my body to break down, I'll be an awesome guitar player (meaning I'll practice this time). I love the instrument so I'm going to put what I've got into it. Other things just took priority over it before *cough*footbag*cough*
Good night.

I'm going to try to explain tonight's shred...but I'm a bit drunk. I just got back from a long night of fun. The session though we had before that was fun, I thought...I think... Energy was high until the end of the session where Brad and I were struggling to hit whatever we tried. I hit tombstone one of my first tries, it fealt pretty easy because my sets were pretty strong that night, I was just overall feeling pretty good. Brad was shredding pretty good until he got himself in the mindset of Shred 30, where he takes out any mistakes on himself, whether it be small or large, well, usually he doesn't get to the large mistakes, he just stops on the first mistake. I believe that mistakes are made throught out footbag, it's all about how you recover and patch up those mistakes to make them faint or near non-existant. Superfly felt really strong numerous times, so that means I'll hit that really soon. Brad, try to finish off this horrible post, because I'm struggling to make sense, and I have to work in about5 hours...and I'm drunk T___T

I figured out a major flaw in my game last Friday. After reading Ken or Yacine mentioning breathing, I decided to see if I had/could make a technique. Well, once I start stringing, I don't breathe at all! It's weird how you can do that for 4-5 years and not notice until you try to change it. I just never thought about it. I'm hoping that this will be the magical way to get super long strings because I'll be supplying oxygen to my brain while playing from now on. Although, it's never quite that simple, I think it'll help out.
