This song RULES.... there's so much to be taken from it, conceptually, technique-wise, sound-wise. it excited the coveted Double-Yowsa from the Destroyer himself... so you know it has to be good.

That guy is pretty awesome. I'm always surprized though when i see people who can play like that and they're not playing Warr guitars. Wouldn't that give them so much more versatility?

Has anybody seen the band Drums and Tuba? Despite the name they have a guitar player, and he has a guitar on a stand in front of him so that he can double tap, but on two seperate guitars. It's pretty awesome...

jared, the mindset behind warrguitars (www.warrguitars.com) is too focal on touchstyle playing for my own uses, but that's just me personally. I play some touchstyle on my six string, and I must say, it's really satisfying to be able to go between traditional guitar playing styles, and the two handed technique. I'm not NEARLY as advanced as bob, myself... what I like about his style is he mixes traditional playing and touchstyle so fluidly. he's so sharp and versatile.

so yeah, that being able to go between the two is even more important to me because I sing. not that you couldn't sing over a warr guitar, but I'm not looking to leave behind traditional guitar playing, personally... rather, I would just prefer to approach the instrument with as many ideas and concepts as possible to keep my options and my playing as diverse as possible. I mostly use touchstyle for a few jazz standards I know (Take 5, Autumn Leaves) and to throw a few licks over my singer/songwriter stuff. It really blows people away when you can do it smoothly and seamlessly in the middle of a tune, because it's so out of left field for most people.

any advice....mhhhh....paint the vision in your head,
let it grow, just as your technical abilities, which means:
woodshedding on a daily basis..practise, practise, practise...
suck up whatever comes ur way and translate it in your own individual style.
first imitate then innovate...

or simply just innovate
