from january 26th to feb 8th 05 i will be in LA due to my grandpa's 85th birthday... they live in westwood, 5 mins to ucla ...
coming out of the cold berlin, i'll be up for some outdoor shred for sure! i have relatives in san diego + oakland also so i might show up there as well (rather unlikely in the bay area though)

i know there is a lot of players in the LA area, so i'd be happy to get together ...

wow! this is going to be cool - i dunno how easy it is going to be for me to get to all of these places because of the infamous LA public transportation, which i will have to rely on... i'll re-hit this thread and send some pm's when the trip is coming closer, looking forward to shred,

my trip is drawing closer - i'll be in LA as of tuesday evening!
any day i'll be ready to kick - do you guys have like "regular" sessions or do you meet more spontanously for kicking? also where are your kicking spots in LA and what about getting there... i'll be happy to kick with anybody as often as possible as early as thursday (one day off of jetlag) and as much as possible until i leave, on the second (and last) weekend of my trip, there is the big birthday party stuff though, but otherwise i'm keen to shred all the time! so who'd be up for a kick on thursday?

does anybody know the cheapest way to get down to sd? last time i took the train, which was quite convenient but also kinda expensive if i remember it right.. maybe there is a cheap bus or something? if i come to sd, it'll be within the first week... i'll let you know so we can meet up.

i dont know the cheapest or fastest way to get to SD, since i've never made the trip, but check out greyhound.com or amtrak.com

greyhound bus: LA-SD roundtrip, $27, 2 hrs 45 min each way
greyhound is notoriously uncomfortable, and all types of people use it, but 2.5 hrs is nuthin

amtrak train: roundtrip $52, 2 hrs 30 min each way
definitely more comfortable than greyhound. check to see if amtrak has a bus service

I would likely be interested in heading down to SD on a weekend. I could pick you up in LA and drive down there.

yeah i have used greyhound as well as amtrak before. greyhound is fine with me, so maybe i'll do that.
buuuut -
going down to sd for a weekend would be perfect, and by car it is probably even much cheaper,so that sounds really cool IMO, though 27bucks is really good as well.
but i only have time the first weekend, as said before. i'd really appreciate to shred in sd, so hopefully something like that works out!

i guess beeing in westwood, santa monica or venice sound like the shred spots in la, that are the easiest to get to from my grandparents - would anybody like to shred there the first days, like thursday or friday? no rush, i'm just curious...

also, doesn't chad live in the la area? i would be really stoked to kick with him once.
