Video game music appreciation

Post by MegaFighter_X »

Enough screwing around... I'm tossing this here...

What VG music do you like?

I'll start it off with Super metroid. Very dramatic for where you are at.. the music is very appropriate... Just seems so right...

Im just gonna copy and paste my post from the What Are You Listening to Right Now thread.

Im actually listening to all the radio stations from GTA: San Andreas.

And the Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles soundtrack. Im a big game soundtrack fan, if you are too, check these game soundtracks:

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime: Echoes
Parasite Eve 1 & 2
Silent Hill 4: The Room
Saga Frontier 1 & 2
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles
Need For Speed: Underground 1 & 2

Check it. I actually imported the soundtrack CDs of Resident Evil 1, 2, 3, Code Veronica and Gun Survivor. How lame am I?!

Nah, I have been a huge fan of game audio for as long as I can remember, I think my first soundtrack I got from a Nintendo Power magazine subscription when I was like 9. It had SMB3 and more on it. It was awesome.

I can't wait until I get the Resident Evil 4 soundtrack.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2!!!

...OK, that was a bad joke. For my money, it`s really hard to beat the classy classicness of Super Mario Bros.

Ken, you should die for that, even if it is a joke... MVC2.... oy...

Some of the Gran Turismo music is good... but does that really count?

Actually, I think Unrea Tournament music is the shit... I remember trying to get the music out of the game, but not knowing how...

The Double Dragon theme!

Honestly, I used to just turn the gameboy on, lay on my aunty's couch and just listen to the theme. I think one time I DID actually play the game though.

The Halo themes kick ass as well. Very moving.
Prisoner's of Fate from the Chrono Cross game (Or Chrono Trigger? I think it's from CT actually) is also very well done.

The music from Resedent Evil 2 when you were in the open area of the police station (where you leave a room and the guy who was biten on the otherside locks the door and there is a computer in the center that opens another door) was well orchestrated as well. Actually, I still find it a tad creepy.
