I think because whoever made it did a real good job choosing the facial expressions. It`s also well paced. If I made something like that, I think I would feel pressure to include text in every frame, whereas whoever made it was smart enough to insert some wordless frames, which helped with pacing and humor.

You didn`t make that yourself, did you Jericho?

I normally hate sigs which are super-distracting, but that one makes me laugh everytime, so it`s aight. :D

question: ok, i know a catapult would be impractical, BUT, why couldnt they have just like...given the ring to a loyal bird or something that would fly it in...i mean, i didnt pay that much attention when i watched LOTR, not really being a fan, so their probably is a good reason...

well, not ot be a geek but:

any creature (hobbit, dwarf, human and so forth) was captivated by the ring. The power of the ring forced them into a crazy world of their own in which the ring posessed THEM not they posses the ring. however, any creature even a bird may be captivated by the ring and possibly eat it, crap it out, or just be hunted down and killed by an orc or ring wraith for the ring thus ensuin the screwing of Frodo and his responsibility.

the real shortcut would have been to give it to Tom Bombadil... but Elrond wouldn't go ask him to...

of course if they did give it to Tom Bombadil then the Lord of the Rings would have been a short boring story.

I think with a few practice shots a catapult would have worked fine :D

True, Tom Bombadil was the most powerful charactor in the Lord of the Rings. I'm glad someone else picked that up. He was the only charactor that was immune to the powers of the ring.
The idea was for him to hide the ring, without having to distroy it. As Tom was immortal (essentually a god), he would last for the ages without the evil of Sauron ever gracing his door. But he'd forget about the ring in time, as it wasn't really important to him what happened, he and his wife (and his land) would always be safe.
So that's why they didn't concider themselves with Tom Bombadil further.

(Man, I'm such a nerd)

10.65089% on the Geek Test.

Yeah, I thought that I was more of a geek than that too. I saw a lot of things my friends would have to click for so I guess that counts for something

Dude Tom Bombadil is so sweet. I was so mad he wasn't in the movies... I mean he's awsome he just runs around singing and dancing all day and is like, "Oh I'm gona wear this crazy ring thing, but don't worry it doesn't hurt me."... I might read the third one just to see him in the final battle... he was in it wasn't he...

I know! I totally thought that bear guy (Baron? B-something... Byrin!) would come out, because he's so huge and all.

But no, he goes and sits on his porceline throne all day while his bees make him honey.

While we are on that subject, I think the Eagles should have played a more promising role in the final battle, like in The Hobbit. Hell, I think the Ents should have went in too! Arg!

But seriously folks.... a catapult?

I was really disappointed with the end battle from the movies.
It seemed to pass too quickly and didn't reflect the epic nature that's expressed in the book.
It wasn't a bad interpretation of the book, but the film still lacked some way cool stuff, like Bombadil.

ok, random question. what if like...you had the ring tied to a really long rope, which was tied to the head of a small squirrel. tied to the head of the squirrel was another long rope, the end of which you were holding. would you still be affected by the ring? or would the squirrel? or the rope? what if they squirrel was affected by the ring, but you tied it up really well so it couldnt do anything but sit there. would that solve the problem?
