leather lavers vs. mesh lavers
leather lavers vs. mesh lavers
I am going to buy lavers soon. I am not sure which ones to buy. I know that mesh lavers are more common, but I really like those black silver leather lavers that Hood has. After I mod the leather lavers will the material rip because I read a post that said that the material is starting to rip after a couple of months or should I just stick to regular mesh lavers?

hood's black ones aren't leather, they're a special dealer sample style black canvas with an unusual decorative white thread trim. and they're SWEET. I wish I had them :/ curse you, hood.
you should get either kind. Either will take a good bit of modding. if you want the black ones, get some black ones. I bet you can still find the canvas ones somewhere. or black leather ones.

I have mesh. I like them but I think I'll try the leathers next after these die off and I burn them ceremonially. They mod really easily and I've heard a lot of people talking about how they are better than mesh. . . I really don't have too much more to say. I've just written here because a lot of other RFA people have written.

Is Canvas Lavers really good? Like are they better than mesh? Break in? Feel? Texture? etc.? Let's hear some input

that didn't really answer my question -_-' (and yes I do have mesh, 3 pairs actually, but I've never kicked in canvas).

some ppl get mesh lavers and cut the mesh off and then have the canvis, i was thinking about geting some red lavers off ebay for cheap as i could then moding the outside mesh off, i think there is a really good footbag player who dose this.... i cant think of his name damn it.... AHH ITS DRIVEING ME NUTS WHO IS IT any way, the canvis is white so think of red lavers with white toe box, out side and inside
that be sooo sick i as even thinking about just moding the mesh off in a shape of letters or something so it looks like it says something on the side of my lavers, these shoes probley wouldnt be for shred... but if i wanted them to be i as thinking about takeing high grid sand paper and sanding the canvis down alittle then takeing this spray stuff i have and giveing them a LIGHT sprits to keep from wearing holes in. i would defently pick mesh over canvis if ur looking for the best shred shoes... just seems like a no brainer.

Zach.. your on a roll with your posts lately... Its not canvas underneath mesh lavers. There are canvas lavers, that you would mod just like leather or mesh lavers, and they would work just as well as modded leather or mesh lavers. Matt has a sweet looking pair of black and gold canvas lavers that he used to use frequently. I've seen several ppl who have cut off the mesh of lavers, and I really dont know how to explain what it is.. but its not canvas which is a slippery surface that you dont want.

My leather lavers played fine before i modded them. The only time you come into problems is when you try moves that where you can't crank your ankle all the way flat.. like dragon. The only reason i modded mine was to feel the bag better... which most of the time i dont now even with all the leather removed. The leather is slippery though and if you are using a sandman or something similar to it they tend to slide around on your foot.
But with leather lavers, you can have the insides and toe modded in like 10-20 minutes its really easy to mod leather lavers. Much easier than mesh lavers.

I know at least two players, who play with unmoded lather lavers, and they're going very well. One of them has made leather on instep gripyy by ruin it with abrasive paper.
