mr sandman pellet refill?

Since my car was broke open and all my bags were stolen I have to use my sandbags all the time.
My mr sandman leaked and I have to refill it now .
I thought to replace the sand by using some fishing weights - so it would be a pellet bag - what do you think- ever tried this?

It might work. But dont put too much in there, i have had crushed panne bags with pellets and anything over about 35 g busts in a day.

Be careful. And there is a seam that is glue, so you *could* refill it with sand. YOu just pull apart the glued seam.

just fill it with aquarium rocks and bb's thats what moshers 4 panel is filled wth i have or maybe its just aquarium rocks either way it plays like a choice 32.

try it out with your mr. sandbag

Ive used sandbags that Tom made and they were filled with copper pellets, and even some with copper pellets, and quarium rocks, but they do work good, but like henry said dont put to many, and i would not be kicking around, since it has more of a chance of breaking.

I refilled both of my sandmans with sand that I found in a box. Don't be afrid to pull open that glued part. It will take some alot of tuggin to get it to open up. To shut it once refilled is completed any kind of glue will do. Also, rember that the hole you have to work with isn't too big so your filler might not fit.

Pellets would work fine but like Herny said don't over fill it or it will bust beyond repair. If I was you I would experiment with differnt fillers. Then report back to us so when can steal your ideas.

Yeah, I've used aquarium rocks, the very small, erroded kind that is similar to sand, thats what all of our LCF bags are filled with

I just wanted to say that it works great !!! I replaced the filling with fishing weights and the bag is much better than before - go for it.

how would you go about determining which seam is held together by glue? and would you recommend gluing the last part of the 4th panel of a homemade bag?

Just rub your fingers along the seams of the bag (that sounds so dirty) and you'll find. It's feels kinda lumpy if that makes any sense.

You don't glue all of the 4 seam. Just a little bit of it. How I usally do it is sew about 3/4 of the way. Fill it up then glue.

Thats a good idea. i've been contemplating doing this to one of my old sandbags which i dont use because some of the sand leaked out. i have a bunch of BBs i can put in it. ill probably get some small rocks too. Thanks for letting me know it works
