I think you would still be affected by the ring because the squirrel has no will. And its technically still in your posession, the rope is just really long. It would be away from you and make you urge less to put the ring on, but yeah I think it would still affect you. The squirrel might be possessed and be controlled by Sauron(sp?). The squirrel might bite the rope off and return the ring to him. Unless of course you de-toothed the squirrel. But eventually, the ring wraiths would be drawn to the ring and find the ring/squirrel. It would just give you more time to run/hide until they found the ring/squirrel. This is just my theory though. We wouldn't know for sure unless we did an experiment, which isn't possible because its a movie...so were fucked. Im sure there are many other practical/possible ways for Frodo to get the ring into the volcano but then what would be the point of the movie?

wow.... that was the oddest question i ever read.... welp since we are on the odd side ill tell u all about me and my friend Brians idea of makeing some money. I live in a vally about hafe a mile away from a HUGH mountian, its a beautiful sight out my bed room window

i must say. we are gonna go cut down a tree and make some cannos, and preform synchronized cannoing in front of crouds of ppl out on the lake and make money from that, then once we made some cash sell the HAND MADE cannos for very cheep, we desited to name the first canno 8675309 we havent came up with name the the next ones

So what if you gave the ring to jelly fish, who was attached to a rope that was tied to the foot of an eagle? The eagle is then placed in some sort of shooting device towards Mordor (a catapult?) but not fired. No.

That catapult is then marched to Mordor by an ARMY of snails, like we're talking millions of these crazy things.

If they get attacked, the snails release the catapult which forces the eagle to fly. Being the crazy hooligan that he is, he will naturally want the rope to not be on him, so it drops the jelly dude into the volcano.

Ring is gone. Eagle is happy. Everyone eats ice cream.

I smell a profit from this idea.

i say you tie the ring to a piece of dna strand and wiggle your toes and do a little dance.......... then go home and untie the ring and put it in some pizzie and send it somone.

why would you want to eat the ring?
you would just poop it out a few days later. they would still find it, just have to dig through a little hobbit poo. and if they found him before he digested it, they would cut his stomach open and get the ring that way

I assume you mean a WALK of snails. Army is for caterpillars or ants. Get your collective nouns straight.

BUT!! im still not completely pleased. im going to think of a way that they could have gotten the ring in, in a more complex, ridiculous way. the quest lives on!!

okay i have been thinking about this for years, and i doubt i'll be able to properly explain it here but i'm gonna do my damnedest. here it goes...

i have always wondered if people see the same colors. now i imagin you're going to say "ummm... andrew... were you smoking crack today?" well no, so i'm going to try and re explain it. okay, every one knows the sky is blue, yes? well our brains are very complicated and powerful things, well what if you brain made you see "red" but since every one knows that "the sky is blue" are people just misnaming the colors since they have been told that what they see (which is red) was acctually blue? maybe some one sees pumpkin and their eyes register it as neon green, but since they have been told that the color they see is "orange" that infact they are calling what they see to be something completely different.

having reread that, it makes no sense what so ever, so i'm not even going to go into my "people who are color blind acctually can see the truth" theory...

i hope some one understands what i mean...

Yup. I'm with you there. I've had the same thoughts.

There is kind of an explination out there. It's to do with optics. It's like looking at a rainbow, for example. You, standing next to me, both of us looking at a rainbow. The thing is, because of the difference in position, we're both seeing light reflected differently as it's coming to us in different locations. So we're not seeing the same rainbow!

I believe it's the same thing with everything else. We all see things when light reflects off of them. If it doesn't reflect light, we would see a void - blackness (without seeing any texture to the blackness, so you're not seeing a colour, you're seeing the absence of colour). So, because the light is reflecting differently off the same object that you and I are both looking at, yes, we are both seeing different colours, but calling it the same.

So for all intensive purposes, we all do see colours differently, but have been shown what 'red' looks like, and what 'blue' looks like.

(and then there's the medical issue of different nerve structure between individuals and such, but I won't go there, because I was never a fan of anatomy)

I know what you are talking about Andrew, and this would explain why some people think shades of colors are different from what you think they are. Like when you get different shades of blue/green or red/white/orange (salmon type colors). Less focus on the perspective of colors, which changes the appearance of a color due to the way the light is reflecting through your eyes, and more on how your brain actually receives this information.
