And this is supposed to make me feel better how exactly???
In my opinion, I don't feel at risk with my credit card number in the hands of a big company like AOL, or Blockbuster. They have no motivation to steal your credit info and exploit it. That's how.

You are highly mistaken if you dont think that giving out credit card information is safe.

Giving out credit info isn't safe, but how could you use a credit card without giving your credit info in the first place ? My point was that it's easier to give your credit info to a large company, such as AOL when signing up for an AOL trial, rather than giving your credit card number to some random people that give away iPods. Your credit info is usually secure with a company like AOL, Blockbuster... or whoever you choose to complete the offer for.

I saw a statistic that like, 80% of identity theft happens offline. when you give your credit card to your waiter, hotel manager, etc.

anyway, congrats to those who got free ipods, good luck to those still trying...

The offers are crap, of course. But it's worth it. It's like getting a $300 dollar check in the mail for doing nothing.
