DATW er Pixie SS pickup

Post by qlunch »

Are DATW and Pixie SS pickup considered the same thing or do both dexes have to be downtime to make it DATW, Thanks

DATW is done with both dexes at once, directly consecutively, with the footbag never going higher than the knee. Pixie pickup is done with a pixie set on the way up, and the bag goes higher than the knee. Then, as it falls, you do another dex for pickup.

Another way to distinguish the two is that:

The foot never plants on datw
It is generally one continuous smooth motion for datw, where as pixie ss pickup is crispy style (one uptime, one downtime).

So if you plant your foot, that right there is NOT a datw. If its crispy style (uptime dex > downtime dex), that is NOT a datw.

Props on pixie ss pickup though :) Its kind of like a crispy inside datw in a way.

also remember... pixie same side pickup can be done without a plant after the set (called 'muted'), but it's still a pixie ss pickup, not datw.

good moves, by the way. keep it up. for datw, set a little lower, move a little faster in the calf, and keep trying. you'll get it.
