2nd Annual Montana Freestyle Jam

Post by Sporatical_Distractions »

Just to let you guys know, the dates for the 2nd Annual Montana Freestyle Jam have been chosen. It will be held on April 30 - May 1 in Missoula, MT on the University of Montana campus. This jam is unique from any other footbag gathering you have ever experienced. Since it is a "freestyle" jam, all forms of freestyle are welcome at this event. Last years "freestyle" included footbag, poi, guitars, turntables, skateboarders, bikers (both BMX and mountain), and juggling. Last years attendees included Jim Penske, Daryl Genz, Justin Dale, Ricky Moran, Dan Reed, Pat Bellows, various montana shredders, and the Missoula Footbag Alliance. The location is in the heart of campus with beautiful mountain sceneries surrounding you and in a very public location. Music will be pumping through campus and was said to be audible at the tops of the mountains by hikers. Hopefully we will also get more live musicians than last year and may even be looking at a sponsorship by a company you all know. This will be a secret kept by the Missoula Footbag Aliiance until this jam becomes more organized. Last years jam was quite an event and this year is only going to get better. So check it out! you will not regret it.

more information will be made available at a later date.

I hope you guys can all make it down! Help support the expansion of our beloved sport in our chill moutain town.

All forms of freestyle will compete against each other in a single contest. It will be judged on the intensity of crowd reaction and will be a prize money event.

If anybody needs a place to crash, send me a message and we will get it sorted out.

Big Party Saturday night. Microbrew kegs!! Taste the best of the NorthWest!

Jim Penske and Daryl Genz are confirmed attendees. Doubles Freestyle will be performed by these two.

We've got University support and backing. Since it will be in the center of campus, there will be tons of random college spectators. There was last year. A lot of people will be around to check out the craziness we'll be laying down.

PLEASE COME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me: [email protected]

PS Ya, Ya I know. Double Post...

There's some serious talk going down in Edmonton about attending. I know I already told you (Evan) that I'd come if you came to ShrEdmonton, so you can count on me for sure. Then it's just a matter of Rory, Byrin, Ben, others?

Evan -- whether or not I come depends on May Dayz likelihood of happening. I would love to come, though!

this is more of a jam set up so there will not be any competitions other than the Uber freestyle sick trick with all facets of freestyle participating. but if people wanted to set up informal contests like shred 30 , sick 3, 4-square :D , or routines i'm sure we can make something happen.

edit: I am going to make sure that there is 4-square

Hey Evan,

Does the road through Glacier Park suck, otherwise we have to go through helena and like 150 miles out of our way, but the shortcut through the glacier park might be slow. Any Ideas?

Absolutely take The Going to the Sun Road through Glacier, it's AWESOME!!
You could go around the south part of Glacier and then through Kalispell on US 93 down to Missoula. Only do this if you have to, the view on The Going to the Sun road is phenomenal.
Hit me up with any other questions.

Cheers for the info.

I didnt mean the view or the park sucked, more if it was like a 20km/hour stuck behind 20 RV's on a single lane type road ;)

We will probably take it though,

thanks
