funny story from glass that made me choose it as my nickname. when i decided i wanted to start stitching footbags, i was like "i need a nickname, something short and easy to remember because 'agostinelli footbags' is way too difficult to say and there are WAY too many Pauls to use just my first name", so me superman and derek (i think) were hanging out outside the hostle waiting for Jared and i was kicking in shorts but i had my black sweatshirt with the letters NEL plastered across my chest, and these girls were walking by presumably on their way to the club that was like a block away, and they started screaming NEL!!! NEL!!! is that your name!?, so i replied "it isnt, but you can call me whatever you want!" haha, so i decided THATS IT! ill use NEL, and then i realized that you cant spell my last name without it.... check it out agostiNELli cool huh?

these are the footbags ive sewn so far
from left to right

baby sack, the four-panel i made with tom at the stoned-drunk 4am tutorial haha.

my first 12 panel, made the next day and night

my second 12 panel made in the car on the way back to rochester

and last but not least my first 32! it kicks fo shizzle but it isnt shreddable yet, it still needs time to be broken in.

well, another day, another session.

its the first time ive played since GLASS where i wasnt in some serious pain. it seems that while i was there, i fucked up my left ankle pretty bad the second day at the church, i was working on my strong side whirl (which i know a few of you witnessed) and i landed wrong on the plant of the setting foot, just before i started the dex, i rolled it. I walked it off and kept playing. it wasnt as mild as i thought because ive been nursing what must have been a really minor sprain since then. its ok now though and i had a good time schooling by meself in my dorm room.

before i go on to what i worked on i want to say that i bought a new pair of shoes that i thought resembled the climacools a bit, after some intensive modifications, they are very shreddable and VERY comfortable, i think it will be beneficial to school hard with these shoes A) to save the integrity of my feet and knees and B) because i still am a very new player and if i learn in these, ill have no problems getting used to them down the line. they are the Asics gel-1100 shoes. here is a link to a picture of what they look like new.

http://i.onlineshoes.com/images/31655.jpg

and here are some pics of my newly modified shoes.

and this ATGrant, is MY boomstick haha

http://tinypic.com/1qq438

ok thats enough silliness, back to footbag

so i played for 2 hours today in 2 one-hour sessions, the first was outside on the basketball courts, which was awesome cause it was almost 60 out today, and the second was when i actually schooled without annoying circle-kickers around.

i managed to hit a ripwalk in jeans, which was pretty cool but the important stuff was schooling my butterflys and stepping sets. i have a consistant waist-high stepping set on my good side and an inconsistant thigh-high one on my weak side, so tomorrow, its school my weak side stepping sets haha.

i hit stepping same-side clipper for the first time today as well as sidewalk, i also hit stepping op clipper set from my strong side and caught on my weak side. ive also started drilling my legovers hardcore and i learned the pixie set on my right leg so im gonna school that till i can hit a tapping merlin (i think thats what its called pixie plant>same legover) i actually hit a muted one today but it was a total fluke, i hardly even count it. i got one pixie set really high and i was like, ooh! ill try a same legover, and i hit it. so aside from just some boaring drills like, clip>stepping op toe>op clip>stepping op toe>repeat, and toe>same but>op toe>same but>repeat, i dont have much else to talk about. so ill end with this following statement.

FOOTBAG ROCKS MY SOCKS!!!!

You are one crazy beast. You must have the fastest learning curve ever...or like a photographic footbag memory where you see some dude hit something and you do it right back ( I hate people like that). The bags look good. I am still on 12 panels.

Keep up the good work my friend.

thats funny, you personified exactly how i learn! i watch someone do the same trick over and over until how it looks is ingrained in my memory, and then try it until i can hit it, but isnt that how everyone learns? dont hate me for it! haha, thats all for now, oh! and i was outside in the phone booth (where me and my friends hang out, its really more of a bus stop but it has a phone in it so we call it the phone booth) and i accidentally hit a ducking clipper from an op toe haha, total accident, i meant to try a pixie set but i flung my leg up kinda hard and entirely missed the dex, so the bag was like a foot above my head so i ducked my head down a bit, moved to the side and did a clipper haha.

hey now. Don't hate those kinds of people. They're funny to watch and tend to be rather modest in the end (which is always good). I don't hate you, Paul. . . . just rather depressed that I can't be like that. But HEY! I got over that long time ago when I had a friend named Matt who didn't have to study for anything in school and still did perfectly on everything (he's also extremely anti-footbag but can hack a peanut butter and jelly sandwich like no one else just to piss me off)

Props on all the pixie stuff. Didn't realize you were on those already  . And from what I understand about it, a pixie planted ss legover is a Magellan. It is a really cool move and I'm pretty sure I hit it for the first time during that session I met you. I still can't do it all that consistently but it's still pretty cool midstring.

Hey those are some strange shoes. They're good at the footbag though? hmm interesting. Where'd you hear about them?

He probably used his eyes to find them. Maybe logic and "not be retarded" helped guide him along the way.

Slick kicks!

I really like the looks of that material and you have a sweet landing deck!

I am glad to see you have decided to learn toe stalls without training wheels.

Keep working hard man, I see big things for you. :D

anyway i have to cut this short because my roommate is grumbling, it is 3am

peace love and footbag

i didnt hear about them, i set out to find shoes as close to climas as i could without ordering them online, mainly because i like to feel the instep of the shoe to see if ill have any touch on the clippers, these passed the test and i figured i can modify the toe and make them usable, so i did.

paul, those shoes look awesome!! are they big and flat and catchy on the toe? how is the weight compared to lavers? how about comfort and support? how much did they cost? where did you get them? I might want to try a pair out. that mod looks INTENSE ;) awesome job, can't wait to see them in person... and that will be... when?
