I like it Nick...it's strange, there's asian sounds in there (pentatonic-style), but the guitar sounds Spanish or something. Whatever the case, it's a good mixture.:) Well done.

The swishy hihat kicks ass.

edit: Actually, if I were to criticize anything in this track...I wouldn't mind having a breakdown in the middle somewhere, introduce a new idea (the guitar maybe?), and then build back into the tune. The beat plays the entire time, save maybe 2 bars, and I think nothing would be lost by dropping it out for a short while. I think it would help to add more flow to your track, and also allow the listener a minute to take it all in.

These two cents are mine. :)

Thanks Alphathought!

That sounds like a good idea.. I'll try that out I think.. and change up the notes a bit, they repeat a bit too much for my tastes.

Well, repetition is good. The hard part is in finding the balance between randomness and repetitiveness (the bad kind).

The composition is in all of but a few notes. The craft is what creates the piece.

Choose a little theme or motif, and work off that. Then, switch it up a bit, do some call and answer, change keys, change octaves, change instruments, change metres, change whatever the hell you want to change while sticking with that motif, because that little bit of music is what I'm going to remember when I listen to your track.

Alright, I can see where you're coming from.

I did this sort of ramp-up in filter+volume when an instrument would go solo, and it does sound a bit cooler and flowier
