ok, so to list the modifications i have made in order.

first i removed the logos from both sides

second i opened the toe box by removing the stitching from the part where the cloth connects to the rubber in the front. there are these holes in the rubber around the front presumably for good looks, so i used the nearest one to the tongue as a lace-hole and ran the lace through it.

this wasnt good enough still so i actually cut off most of the rubber that comes up over the toe.

i then did the mod where you cut down around the ankle to add crank

the toes are great now, and the clipper space is huge, i still think i need a bit of shoe goo to fill in the curved part near the sole, but i can shred as good as in my lavers now, so i figure itll just make it better.

there is also the rubber part that the lace holes are in, it actually runs down the shoe and around the top, so i sliced slits in both sides to help flatten the toe out as it was kinda rounded before.

LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE PICS!

for comfort, they are fantastic, i presume that they feel much like the climas, but i wouldnt know because i didnt have the opportunity to try them on (everyone that had them at glass had smaller feet)

im loving them more and more as i continue to play, and the best part is, my knees and ankles are so much more cushioned than in the lavers, plus they are running shoes so they are designed to keep you on your toes. tom pointed the benefits out of this so i wont continue to beat a dead dog.

thats all i can think of for these shoes, but i should say that i recommend them, if you are willing to do some precarious modifications, id be happy to do them for you (matt) when i see you again (over spring break) which will be about mid to late march.

Hey! i know that matt guy too, he has these freakish ankles and he plays barefoot, weirdo.

well, i didnt post yesterday about my session because there really wasnt anything to post, the only thing of not was a string of toe>legover>same but>stepping set>same clip>op clip

today i schooled pretty hard but i think it was still a bunk session due to the fact that i am still getting used to the toe on these new shoes, it isnt necessarily harder but i kinda have to "aim" my foot to a different place, if that makes any sense. the stalling spot for these is right next to the bottom of the laces so i have to stall further from the front of the shoe than on my lavers.

anyway so the highlights from todays session (again alone in my dorm room) are

clip>same clip>ripwalk>same clip>same clip>drop

legover>legover>rpt, i think i hit 6 or 7 total

2 or 3 infinities

pdx mirage BSOS, i was really happy about that one, probably the most happy from todays session

i got 4 or 5 waist high pixie sets from my right foot, and one or two from my left, i just cant get the setting leg down to the ground fast enough to do anything out of them, so they just hit the floor, but they made me happy

hmm, i cant think of anything else aside from a mirage>op toe>repeat drill that i hit i think 7 or 8 times.

thats it for now, i might play a bit later tonight depending on how i feel, plus i have to save energy for my session tomorrow with alex!!! thats gonna rock!

anyway,

peace love and footbag

I would advise instead of doing mirage>op toe>mirage to just do mirage>mirage repeat, and then work them on your flipside equally doing the same string, you'll learn your mirages quicker.

ripwalk in a string! Wooo! nice.
Mirage bsos! Wooo! nice.

yeah I find it funny that when I was thinking of something to write for my signature aric and I were both thinking of something that has to do with the illusion. And when matt got a hold of that he mentioned that he knew it'd be illusion related. Funny story though with illusions that I'll just put on this blog since I'm annoying like that: When I first started to do mirages, I thought they were illusions. Then when I found out what illusions were, I thought they'd be way too hard so I said to myself as serious as can be, "Hmm. Maybe I'll just not do illusions. That'll be the only trick I won't hit, though. . " Let it be known that this was also about the same time I was going to this kid's "Hacky Sack Tricks" webpage before I even knew about footbag. Oooh little did I know just how much I'd come to love the illusion. And thus it continues.

paul. . . why haven't you hit blur or blizzard? Come on, man. Seriously. Or maybe I just missed those posts.

Well if Paradox Mirage BSOS is something to be stoked on, I wouldn't advise actively trying to hit either of those moves.

well, i played hard today in my dorm room, and the highlights are as follows

whirl>clipper>ripwalk

legover>legover>dada>far legover

my first 5 add today, PDX dada curve! i was pretty stoked about this because i did it right proper, WITHOUT planting the set/dex/catch leg

those were just the "big" things i hit, the majority of my session was basically relearning my mirages and drilling them along with illusions legovers and pickups.

im schooling my illusions hard so NEXT TIME I SEE YOU TOM, ILL BE DOING BLURS IN MY SLEEP!

DAN, ive been doing the mirage>mirage>rpt drill cause you said so, and its helping so thanks.

and keep the negativity out of my blog please (unless its to push me) dont tell me its too soon for me to hit something, because when someone says that, it just makes me want to hit it more, thats why i even tried ripwalk in the first place, now i hit it regularly, and have hit it in a string, im also working on it flipside so that i can do it bsos. please keep replying and giving me drills and such as it is helful, but please dont tell me i shouldnt try something because i was stoked about something else.

while im on the subject,

PAT, what is the jobs notation for blizzard?

i also decided that if im working on basics today, i might as well begin breaking in my own 32 by going for as may inside kicks as i can, ive got 43 consecutive alternating inside kicks, i had to use a toe after 43 so i stopped counting

oh yeah and my left ankle is almost completely healed thank god because i want to play harder! and my stamina is going up which kicks ass

thats all for now.

Peace Love and FOOTBAG!!!!

Don't be offended by critiscism, if you want to hit big stuff that's fine and I shouldn't harp on you for it, but I really think that in the long run you'd be happier if you schooled basics more, and I think you game would also progress faster because the basis for larger concpets lie in the mastering of tiltless moves. But it is freestyle footbag, and I won't say anything about it from here on out.

Glad that the mirage>mirage thing is working though. How're your illusions?

i wasnt offended, dont worry, it takes a lot more than that to offend me haha. and to reply to your suggestion of schooling the basics, thats exactly what im doing, but to keep it from getting boring, im trying other stuff in between, it seems to be working for me, so ill stick with that route, my illusions leave something to be desired so thats next on the school it till it gets boring list.

8O no way. . you did NOT just say the words illusion and boring in the same sentence! heh just joshin' ya. Keep up the good work. You still coming up for march 6th weekend-thing? That'd be cool. I really hope I can still come by then. Who knows with the way I am.

im actually not coming to rochester for the event, ill be meeting you guys in philly, as it is significantly closer than the good old ra cha cha

i figure i might as well update from the last two days here.

saturday evening i went to visit my friend zac bruner at wesleyan university, which i might add is a kick ass place all arond. i had a great time smoking my hookah and dancing on the stage at this awesome salsa dance party (the band kicked ass!)

not a whole lot of footbag the last two days, i screwed around a bit this morning to show zacs roommate what it was, i think the coolest thing i hit was a pdx mirage and i showed him what a dada looked like, and since the closest thing he had ever seen to a footbag move was circle kicking, he was like "whoa that was amazing" and i was like, ha! are you kidding? i suck, go to these websites (footbag.org and modified of course) and download a bunch of videos, itll blow your mind haha.

anyway thats all for now

oh yeah, and since this is my footblog and i can choose to talk about girls here, im really digging this girl kerri from my school and im currently "chilling" with her, whatever that means, and im hoping that this will actually turn into a relationship, she is supposed to be coming with me and a group of my friends to toronto for spring break, so all you torontonians, we'll have to make a peel pub date and shred and drink, my friends will be occupied, and i can havea little canadian shred too!

thats all for now

Peace love and FOOTBAG
