Wow do I EVER need a new job! I refuse to work with anything with telephones ever again. What a horrible experience.

What I need is something.. different. I mean there's alot of different jobs out there, im sure stuff I haven't even thought about yet.

What kind of different or cool jobs can anyone recommend to me? I dont care how much it pays, hours, or whatever, but im just looking for something different from usual.

Any suggestions?

I work at a pool as a lifeguard. I have a few shifts where there is rarely ever any swimmers, and get to footbag a lot. Im not sure how it works in Canada but in the US all you need to do is be certified in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid.

You can find a lot of job resources online. Here is one in your area, I don't know if it will help.

I know exactly how your situation is, I HATE the whole finding a job process!

OK, maybe this is just me, but I think a delivery guy would be an awsome job except for the pay. I mean you just drive around listening to music all day, how great is that. Or if you need to read a book for school just get it on tape and listen to it in the car...

how about like, fitness trainer? I know certain people shred indoors in like, fitness clubs where they have memberships so they go to an open room and kick........why don't you do THAT? sorry I had to post again but I just remembered that......

Hm those are some good ideas right there. I think im stuck in the position of having to get some sort of training to get a decent job, my pathetic uneducated untrained ass wont fit in anywhere properly

You could always sell your body. I was at worlds this summer, and saw numerous prostitutes. The sex tourism market is apparently on the rise also.

work as a UPS or FED-EX driver. They make tons of cash and its a pretty sweet job.

Nick, what`s the extent of your education? If you have a college degree (even a crap one) you can scam the Japanese government by coming to Japan and `teaching` English, like I do

Dude, I know somebody who has that job. She had this one dude pay her 800 bucks a month to help him exercise and he only went to the gym once in all the 10 months he hired her for. You just know he was getting some side action but moving on.

I always thought a firefighter would be a cool job.

My education is pretty much nil. I went to college for a couple years in comp sci. but dropped out. I dont know, I have this aversion to having being taught something, I'd rather learn something on my own, which is why im such a big reader.

I can't drive, I never even went for driving courses ever, because the public transportation is so easy where I live, and I never really have to go anywhere very far.

Air Canada was looking for like bus boys or something, i dont know the title.. moving stuff around and keeping things clean on a plane, and flying around to different places. It sounds really interesting, so I'm going to try there.

but seriously, i lived and worked in montreal for a year, and i can tell you this - if all else fails, temp. there's tons of jobs in offices out there for somebody with a couple years of comp-sci under their belt (the worst you'll be asked to do is excel or ppt!) and if being a secretary for a day isn't your cup of tea, there's lots of temp labourt. try manpower, advantage, quatuum... uh, there's a few other quebec specific ones i can't remember. starting pay is usually 10 bucks an hour, and you don't have to work more than four days a week or so.

also, quebecor is a wickid place to work. it's twelve hour shifts, three or four days a week, and anything after that is overtime, and you get something like $15/hr.

I think working at a library would be sweet. (Or a book store).
I also liked working at a coffee shop a lot.
My girlfriend is a lifeguard and I think it's the same in Canada. I think it's pretty easy to get a job as a lifeguard, because you need those qualifications and the pay is good. $10+, I think. If I have time and all that I was going to try to get my lifeguarding. I think Marita can even teach me up to a certain level because she has the teaching levels and stuff too.
Oh yeah, my mom is a clerical substitute -- she can basically work full time and choose to not accept a job any time she wants (no worries for time off for tournaments...) -- she is called for job offers by the computer system and she can choose to accept or not and secretary-types get a good pay for an easy job (typing and answering phones!...playing on the internet all day..)

Oh yeah, and the post office pays well (like $15), and my brother is a computer tech. He dropped out of school, too (says he's going back........) he gets, like, $20 an hour(x8 hours), or something and he only has to go into work when he is called. Basically he fixes a lab or two a day and stays at home, or whatever he wants, the rest of the time. Go apply for the school division. He never had any training or anything, he just knows a lot about computers. (Well he worked for some company, too, starting as an assembler and all that and moved up to sales for a few years, but I think as long as you know enough about computers it's a pretty easy job to get.) The end.

PS: School is great! Save a percentage of your income and go finish your comp science degree!
