at least the NHLP FINALLY broke and accepted a salary cap, I just wish they fucking did that at the beginning of the season, not the end.
Ah well, there DEFINITELY will be hockey next year.
I'm glad they decided to still cancel the league even after they came to agreements on salaries, if we had a 25 game season and then a stanley cup race, it just wouldnt be right. You gotta come out on top of a regular sized NHL season not a gimped out 25 game season.. I mean what if they went ahead and did the 25 game season, and toronto won the cup? their team of age 65+ players would all be fairly rested because they cant normally keep up to the young whipper snappers through a whole full season.
If any team won a stanley cup after a mini season it wouldn't come with all the glory of a stanley cup won in any other season.
I miss nhl

Yes hockey next year, do you think people will care as much, since there has been talk of people on the streets saying that they dont really care anymore, plus hokcey in europe is getting popular, and there also are stars from the NHL that have signed with other team in europe?

I think they should have gone through with the season. A short race to the Stanley Cup would have been awesome. They'd just have to spice it up a little bit. They could put everyone in armored suits and make the sticks into swords, make the puck razor edged, and make the goalie a siberian tiger.
To make it even better, all of their families should be kidnapped and held at gunpoint.
Now that would be a season.

Nah.....Id prefer a gorilla as a goalie.......then the puck should be filled with C4.......with a micro detonator.....then, to score a goal, they have to get it into the net which has a hole to drop the puck into. All this before the puck, which is roughly 5 kilos of plastiques, explodes.

If I were an NHL fan, I would be fucking furious. The team franchises save some money because there`s no season. The players can make money in Europe, and if not they still should be fine considering what their salaries have been so far. So who really loses out? The fans. That`s total BS. If this happened in the NBA, I would boycott it and never watch it again. I`d just turn to college basketball. No NHL this season is a slap in the face to fans.
