Compliments/Props Thread
Don't you just love getting compliments?
I think Mirken started a thread like this way back and I remember thinking it was a good idea and so I borught a new one would be fun.
There are no criteria for the props/compliments, just give them if they are deserved.
I will start:
- I think James Erickson is doing really well and he is inspiring
- David Clavens is incredible at footbag
- Nasty Nate covers the HUGEST range of concepts in his strings!

Word!!! Steve Goldberg is the man, footbag would be fucked without him and the people who do so much for the sport like the IFPA.C-Fan wrote:Steve Fucking Goldberg. Just think about it.
I would live to give massive props to Nate and James for giving me such a clear concept of where I want to go with my game.
I'd also like to thank Dan for being a warm body in the room at the Y on Saturdays.

Wow, thanks Chris!
Yeah, Steve for, just, everything.
Daryl Genz, Chris Holden, and Kyle Zender (and Rob Fuller a little bit, too) for teaching me everything I know.
Vasek Klouda for inspiration.

Not disagreeing with you or anything, but I think the best name in footbag history ever, has to be:BainbridgeShred wrote: Chris Holden, because you have a sweet sounding name.
Cody Rushing. How cool is that name? I`ve never met this kid, or even seen him play, but already I think he`s awesome just cause of the name. Maybe its cause I like street fighter games, and I like the fighting style called `rushdown` where you keep your opponent pinned with constant dashing attacks. And there is a character called Cody. So Cody Rushing is like a description, like Jordan Dunking. Cody Rushing... too cool.
I feel like I owe this thread a serious post, after this one. I`ll get to that later.

But yea, Cody Rushing is a badass name. Believe it or not I get a lot of remarks on my last name due to "Fear" being in it or whatever.

LOL, I think that was to counter the insult thread. Didn't he call me swell?mosher wrote:I think Mirken started a thread like this way back ...
back to topic
Goldberg and Genzu
I can't think of anyone else that's given more to footbag than these 2. There has to be more though...
EDIT
Any one and everyone that's thrown a tournament together. Big or small, good and bad... much thanks to all your hard work, sacrifice and preparation.

erik, when was the last time you acctually saw mark? or joel? it's been a while eh? we should organize a big hackrifice get together, where we all go shred (and joel and scott can go play net with them selves) and go out for a rawkus night of partying after!Erik Chan wrote:JOEL DION, MARK LEEMAN, DEREK VANDALL, ANDREW GRANT!!!!!!!!!!! props go to the following from me...
David Oleski, for showing me atw, the first real trick i ever saw.
Mike Robins, for teaching me mirage and for all those summer sessions at assiniboin park
Ian Cunningham, for telling me to search "hacky sack" on google and again for telling me about hackrifice.com
Joel Dion, for starting hackrifice because there wasn't a club listed in winnipeg on .org, for being a good roomie at worlds (by not complaining too much about the smell of my lavers
Scott Ellenberger and Mark Leeman, for letting Joel know hackrifice wasn't a bad idea and by joining the club. (antiprops go to mark for thinking hackrifice is a bad name and wanting to change it.)
Josh Wayborn, for being up to shred all the time. rain, shine, tidalwave, what ever.
Now for the really BIG ones...
first off: Erik Chan and Derek Vandall, for meeting me at the forks and for allowing me to watch for the first few months or so, showing me the ropes and pushing my game to where it is now. (i'm still bitter about how you made me play tiltless you fuckers. oh, and Erik, Derek told me it was your idea, you bastard!)
Steve Goldberg, for hosting footbag.org where i saw ryans finals routine 2001/2 and was completely blown away.
Rob Fuller, even though i still to this day have never met you, for having sweet ass double downs that influenced my style in the begining stages of my career.
Maxxx, for hooking up jams, getting me directions, places to sleep, getting me more directions, and having a great attitude when it comes to partying, and basically for getting my ass around paris for shred. i owe you so much, and i doubt i'll ever get to fully repay you the way you deserve.
The Weber Family, for allowing my broke self to stay at their apartment in prauge. it allowed me to stay in europe for just a bit longer and it was totally worth it! i must find you all a gift to thank you for your generosity.
Ales Zelinka, for taking time off from everything he had going on to play tour guide for some foreign kid he had only met once, and had only really said "hello" to. i have forgotten more about prague than i learnt about the rest of europe.
TMS and Vasek Klouda, for directing my drunk stoned ass back to honzas place. it was sketchy, but with your help i didn't end up in a ditch somewhere...
Paul Cronjager and His Room Mate (who's name i have forgotten), for letting me crash in their apartment while they were studying for year end exams and for putting up with my shit! to Paul again for showing me the sights in berlin when you should have been studying, i know i bought you a donair, but i still think i need to get you guys something else!
Yves Kriel and Max Kerkoff. Yves for being a huge influnce to my style and my inspiration for so long. also for coming in from the suburbs and shredding with me daily. Max for making sure i had something fun to do every day i was there, and making sure i wasn't lonely.
Arthur Ledain, for letting me crash with him and for being such a super cool guy! i had a blast shredding with him and just hanging out! i owe you a pizza and some beer next time i see you!
