damn its great to have someone on campus to play with.

i dont know why i havent mentioned him before, but my friend Bryan plays and is getting in to it. i just let him borrow my lavers actually because ive gotten to the point where i know i wont be needing them anymore, my new shoes have gotten me past where i was with the lavers and my strings are starting to look like.... well, strings.

Im well on my way to being able to do 10-contact tiltless strings,

today i hit, clip>op clip>op clip>op clip>whirl>pickup>same butterfly>pickup>legover>dada>stepping toe (drop)

I dont know what the hell i was thinking trying to step out of a dada but oh well

ive gotten my strong side osis very clean now, doing it mid string and keeping it tiltless is tough, i can osis from the op toe really consistantly, ill have to school it from a legover

today i hit 10 consecutive legovers
I also hit 4 consecutive pickup>op butterfly>repeat

i hit 2 infinites, no big deal for number but they were my cleanest yet.

nothing else really happened that was of note today so ill cut this short.
im going to continue with my tiltless strings until i can get 10 contacts every time, my goal is to be able to do that before i get to philly, its a bit of a tough goal, but very attainable nonetheless.

ta ta for now

peace love and footbag

i hate being sick, i was playing this evening for like 20 minutes and i was whipped.

i hit a cool combo though, clip>pickup>dada>far legover>clip>whirl

oh yeah! i footed paradon

i was pretty psyched about that because its one of my favorite tricks to watch so im gonna keep working my ass off on it.

well like i said it was only a 20 minute session, so ill conclude

peace love and footbag

well i dont have much to say about yesterday because my shred sessions were mostly impromptu times in my dorm room, they were nothing big, but i decided i would drill my pixie sets from my right leg.

i managed to get one up to my shoulder, but i still dont have the confidence to do much out of it yet, but i did manage to hit a pixie>butterfly

i sat at my computer and studied how about 10 different crazy-go-nuts-good players did it, and i figured that it would probably be most condusive to my flexibility to do my pixie sets with my shin almost vertical, so they almost look like around the worlds, as opposed to most illusions.

anyway, enough babble, i was happy about schooling it because the movement clicked for me, i just have to drill it till its easy

Here are some pixie tips:
- it's a bit easier to have your foot under you to some degree as you start.
- when I set it I start with the bag positioned directly under the middle of my thigh and then aim for that spot with my set.
- as you pull up into your leg you open up your knee outwards and move your shin forwards to make sure the window is nice and big and open.

thats exactly what i figured out, there was this one video in particular of vasek playing, but it was taken from above, so if you watched carefully in slo mo, you could actually see almost from his perspective. its cool

well its been a while since ive posted here, due to the lack of modified-ness

which i might add sucked a gigantic left nut!

anyway, to footbag

ive been schooling my pixie sets really hard and im pretty damn consistant with my right side pixie set, the left foot sucks still, but im working on it.

i cant really think of that much to write, im psyched about sunday in philly because, even if i dont feel a sense of accomplishment here at school (its hard to, even when im progressing because of the lack of other footbaggers(alex i dont know how you did it for 2 years!)) i know i will in philly, and i know im gonna meet awesome people, and see some sick shred.

ive been working on string length and keeping it as tiltless as possible. i know ive had a whole bunch of notable 7 and 8 contact tiltless strings but i cant think of them right now, im gonna start writing them down as they happen so i dont forget them anymore.

thats it for now, i expect ill update again later when i play.

well i did end up playing a little bit today, and it felt good after that nap

i managed to hit a pixie>butterfly in the middle of a string and sealed it with a pickup

i also hit ripwalk in a string again.

oh! i managed to get a flying pixie up to my head in my socks, its fun to drill pixie sets in my socks because i can do the dex so cleanly in them.

anyway, i didnt accomplish much today but for some drills so thats it!

Peace love and footbag

well i had a pretty short shred session in my room today just so i could keep up some sort of regiment, i drilled my pixie sets a bunch, as well as my stepping sets

the only real things of note were a couple of 10 contact strings one which included a far legover bsos as well as whirl>pickup>pixie. i was happy with that.

i seemed to have mildly strained a muscle in my right leg that was acting up towards the end of my session whenever i tried a pixie set so when it started hurting i decided that i should stop and save my energy for sunday, which im totally psyched about!!!!!

peace love and footbag

oh man, today was amazing, i cant even begin to list all the crazy shit i saw today, look at peter irish's post under journeys to tourneys to see all of the unbelievable stuff. but my own personal highlights were as follows

-getting to kick with rochesterians!
-riding to and from philly in the back of alex's dads convertable (with the top up
-meeting peter
-kicking in a circle with kenny shultz, scott bevier, the cleaver, and a whole slew of awesome shredders
-hitting a number of clean atomic sets for the first time
-hitting dimwalk in a string

i cant think of much else, but today just kicked ass

Paul,

It was nice meeting you today in Philly. Anyway, here is a link to the New York Footbag Association's yahoo group page. I'd sign up and register to get the e-mails. There's not alot, barely half-a-dozen each weekend, and its the easiest way to keep up with when and where the NYFA is playing.
