I'm for Berlin too...

But will FC Footstar want to host it, and send the application?

Hey guys, the fcfootstar actually considered doing worlds in 06. but we have very high expectations on ourself when it comes to hosting such an event. i think we'd rather do them in 07.
the proble now is, that germanys other large club frankfurtfootbag wants to do them in 06, so that germany probably wouldnt get worlds again right away in 07 or 08.
hum, for us the situation is a little disappointing since we really wanted to hold them in the near future.
well for now I can only recommend you to come to this years German footbag open june 17th-19th in - guess where - Berlin.
i posted an announcement earlier today in journies to turnies. i hope to see lots of you in june in berlin, you can just make it your warmup tourney for euros and worlds!

I agree, Berlin (or Frankfurt, doesn't really matter) would be great. Germany is "in the middle of everything", I mean it's near to France, near to Denmark, near to Poland, near to Czech Republic and near enough to Finland and Russia also. And if the worlds are in Europe, it doesn't really matter for the Americans and the Asians 'cause they'll have to fly there anyway....(I think (?)).

And at the summer 2006 I may be staying at my relatives near Hannover for a couple of weeks/months.

(Are there any shredders near that area?)

I would say Los Angeles if the crew was down... Although i would love to see it in NY. Ive never been to the east coast so that would be phat.. They have to have it on the East Coast.

I would like to go to it again, and if it is on the East Coast, I can definitely make it. Anywhere in North America is probably an almost definite for me. But I'd love to make an excuse (if I can) to go to Austraila, France, Japan, anywhere. I love to travel.

Hey Peter. Worlds in Copenhagen? It is an interesting thought, no doubt.

We would love to host the Worlds one day and our organisation is getting stronger, more mature as well as very ambitious by the years. Having said that, I come to think of at least 4-5 countries in Europe, which would be able to organise Worlds without making too many floors in the process.

No offence but it seems that some people in this forum makes wishes without considering how much effort and work it takes to organise a quality tournament. The Californian scene seems very realistic but I am not so sure about the East Cost scene in NY. In my opinion the Worlds should be among the very best organised and financed tournaments of the year.

Therefore I think the Swiss or Germans should step in and show their great potentials at least before Denmark take upon another big tournament again. We are still licking our wounds and working on an implementation of the impacts after the Euros 2004 in Copenhagen. That is why it is so important to be ready in more than one way before we catalyse another big boost like the Worlds.

The Euros 04 became a major success but the tournament also had a serious impact on our private lives and the recovery process is not completely over yet. Our budget by far exceeded the 50.000 $ limit and we would love to take it even further next time because we think our sport deserves it.

No matter how ambitious people want to be in the organising process, time is actually no excuse or limitation. We organised the Euros in 3 month and even though was more than a fulltime job for two persons and a half time job for a lot of professional outside help we managed to do a lot of other footbag related projects besides the tournament itself.

You can expect most of the Danish population to join in my friend. We will represent massive and we all look so much forward come back to Berlin again.

i think youll have to come to the gfo then. cause worlds arent gonna be in berlin next year.
sorry. but you can come to berlin and stay for euros and worlds in europe. its really not that expensive here.
