This is a very important post. Probably the best one yet.

6 of my panels on my mini are not stretching out and are smaller than all the rest. But I'm still hopeful.

And now? The moment you've all been waiting for. I will now put the footbag on my head and slightly lean forward over the keyboard so that it falls onto it, striking a random set of keys. Let's see what the footbag has to say in a post, shall we?

t

GASP! It hit the letter t ! 8O 8O 8O that deserves three of those shocked faces.

k I'll be going now.

. . algebra. I'M AN ENGLISH MAJOR! Letters should NEVER equal numbers or quantities. They should equal sounds and components of words!

My challenge board is up on the . . Challenge logs so go check those out and give me some advice on drills I can do so I can print them out and bring them to my shreds because I always forget.

Next order of business is my possible transfer to a different college. This could mean a number of things or it could mean nothing since I won't know if I'm transfering till probably later this spring. I may be going even so far as Northridge, California. But then again I may go to New Jersey or Pennsylvania. I've been looking at some there too. Sadly this will mean there's a slight chance I'll "leave" the RFA (once a member, always a member, though! Woo!) but I'll see what I can do about finding others who partake in the shredding whereever I go. Just thought I'd pitch that out to everyone. Anyone know any shredders around Northridge?

i'd go with cali if I was you. nicer weather, probably more freestylers, and it would be good to live there before (or while) it falls into the ocean. I don't know where northridge is, so I can't speak for freestylers there. Let us know what happens. how come you're transferring?

Northridge is in a sweet location, right near the coast. Also it's right near LA which means you are near some shredders.

yeah CSU-D is the college I'm looking at in California. Pretty nice, urban setting . . it's small, cheap, and focuses on english and education certifications so so far it's all good.

jericho - heh yeah when I was looking at the NJ college, I was like, "Hmm. . Jericho lives in new jersey, doesn't he?" or I could go to northern california and be like, "Hmm. . Dustin lives in California, doesn't he?" (no idea where northridge is, even though it has North in it, that'd be too weird if it was close)

matt - word. LA isn't my bag but the rest of California is awesome. I'm transfering for a number of reasons. I've decided I deserve to enjoy being at my college or university and having a good time at it while at the same time earning a descent education (NOT Nazareth). There are other family matters too that influence that whole california thing which I will not get into here for the sake of boring all of you with dribble  . . riight. It's just I think Nazareth is causing more problems than she's worth. And let's just say I'm sick of the people here to boot. If there were other choices in Rochester that would fulfill my needs I'd go for it but I don't really see it. MCC maybe. . I have no idea. I love Rochester and New York in general but I'm prepared to do what is necessary to git the job dun.

I'm getting the feeling that da da curve is something I should already be able to do. . Who was it. Aric? who said "if you can hit ripwalk, you can hit da da curve" . . heh. Oh it's on now. I've decided I'm doing it tomorrow. . well. Today. It's 1 in the morning. DADA! it'll be both sided or my name isn't the Da Da Master!

well I had a drilling session today - felt like poo so I stopped after like 20 minutes of doing the stuff from my challenge post (got some  ) and then for some reason fell asleep for the next few hours and almost missed dinner.

"today" should be good; new trick(s) and drills.

Oh and my article in my school newspaper came out entitled "Footbag: Not Hacky Sack" by Pat Thomsen. The editor made me look a fool by making some typing errors. But oh well. It's out there. Hopefully someone will FINALLY come up to me and ask to play. I handed out my AIM screen name, some websites to go to, and said "PLAY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!" (more or less to that effect). So I was a triumphant Pat today as I entered the dining hall to find the paper sitting there. The bagel tasted really good.

 Elton John is playing on the streaming radio station at the moment. Rocket Man. . Wonderful song. It deserves a trophy. Oh man. I just looked over at the shocked face again. Well that means it's going in the post. 8O 8O two : the perfect amount unless you're talking about twix. Twix is cruel. Only two. What's the deal with that? Two cookies, though. That's the perfect amount. And two shocked smiley faces. Perfect. Elton John. . . shocked. . . cookies. . . 1:10 am.

I agree Twix has a fine thing going. But just look at what happens. You open the wrapping and the first whiff of wonderful carmel and chocolate cookie crunch brushes your nostrils ever so gently and you get a flutter in your heart. BAM! First one's gone and it's wonderful. Oh look! You've got another to enjoy the taste once again! Yum that sure was good. Well now what do you do? It's a full-blown snack at the moment and a snack needs three parts, an opening, a revisit or retaste, and the wrap up and conclusion. You're left wanting to finish something with only two twix. There's just a little bit more to the experience left to be had but you're done. You've just paid for two twix and that's all she wrote. And as you throw away the wrapper you think to yourself (always) just how much you'd like to have just one more twix. Just one more. One more.

That's all I'm saying about that.

Footbag.

Excellent Job! :)
A +

Maverik > butterfly > sidewalk > whirl > gyro clip.

Ripwalk > whirl > pdx mirage > double over down > gyro clip > far legover > illusion > paradon > pdx illusion.

these are the two strings that are currently taking over my mind and making it almost impossible to write this paper. And there's a RFA Nazareth shred in about 40 minutes! Oh no!

Ah HA! well here's how I'm doing -

BREAK - No footbag - rest time. Shins were starting to hurt from stepping practice so I needed a break.

G - Units!? - Yes I tried to buy some RBK G-units so that I can partake in this "Let's find other shoes besides the laver" thing that's spreading like wild fire in a dry corn field in July. Ah but Syracuse sucks so they didn't have the g-units that are for the footbag. They have the G-units II (it turns out they have about 3 or 4 models of the same series of shoe. . I hate 50 cent and reebok soo much) so I bought the wrong kind. . . for $86 dollars. My parents thought they would reward me for being me by buying them for me. When I found out I was really REALLY mad. So um. I'm going to pay them back for my stupidity and I'll get the real ones when the government gives me 138 dollars in tax returns. Things will work out.

Footbag today - so since I took a break for a while, I needed to kick. So I just came back from a nice easy hour and half skool/shred session. Hit inspinning clipper first try and finally bsos'd spinning clipper. I'm getting really close to a flipside whirl. Da Da curved. Toe Driftered. Bsos on bubba, pdx illusion, pdx mirage, and refraction. Nothing new but I'm working on them over and over so my strings can become more impressive. Not to mention there was a soccer player who was kicking around on my side of the gym while the volleyball players practiced. She was good company.

kthanksbye

Binghamton University. It's in Binghamton. It's a University. It's not Nazareth. What else could I ask for? Oh yeah. Footbag. Well we'll get to that when the time comes.

I forgot to post this little tidbit of information last time - well my article about footbag has been in circulation for a while now and I got my first hint that people read it. When I was getting my footbag on at the gym yesterday this girl popped her head over the wall that seperated us wondering what was stomping and sliding across the floor so crazily. Then she disappeared and I heard her say, "Ooh. Hacky sacker. Oh I mean Footbag. Sorry. Footbag." and I overheard a conversation with her and a friend and she explained why it was called footbag. It made me smile amidst my playing well for the first time in a while.

yes LA is a foreign land to me and I feel like I'm a tourist there. My brother works at the WB around thereabouts and the only reason why I look forward to going there is the promise of a random concert at the House of Blues (last time we saw They Might Be Giants simply because we were bored and on the road) and that he has a tree sticking out of his house. . Right in the middle. It's weird. That's it though. LA people are crazy and a little fake. And I know a lot about that. Because. I said so. Unfortunately it looks as though I will not be traveling all that far for my new college.

1) Geneseo (the home of the Chris Dean)
2) Siena - footbag hell. . absofreakin'lootely no one there.
3) Queens (!?) um. . tom mosher and like 30 other footbaggers there.

Or I'll most likely just stay at Nazareth and slowly lose my mind. But then again I'm thinking of going to Ireland for a semester or maybe a whole year so maybe I can chill with Thom up there! That'd be pretty cool. . . Well either way I'm going abroad but it's whether I do it from Nazareth or somewhere else.

Footbag news - double over downs are pretty cool with me now but I don't do the paradon enough for me to say the same unfortunately since paradon is easier in my mind's eye. Still footing barrage. Oh and who wants to bet I can hit merkon at some point soon? A challenge away from the challenge blog? Eh? merkonmerkonmerkon.

The post that will hopefully put me over 800 views. I like views. It makes me feel like this is all worth it.

No footbag for a while and it's annoying. Too much school work and too much transfering to think about. Actually I just found out today that I can't go to the comp. in philly this weekend because I have to go home and apply to geneseo and emerson and all those other colleges. I figure this is one of the best excuses I've had YET for not going to a competition so I'm not as pissed off as I was when I didn't go to GLASS. . but that was my decision anyway. So yeah. No comp.

This college in Boston (Emerson) looks really REALLY good. Does anyone know of any footbag action in or around the Mass area? This is a funny question since I had to convince my mom for a while that I'm not basing my transfer decision on footbag. . . . But I'm not. It's just a question. It'd be helpful if people were there that's all.

a)Footfighter is on the way! Awesome. b)hope to flipside whirl and bsos that mother. c)gyro illusion. d)after this last stretch before break I'll be able to do the last major skooling before the sun comes out and the snow melts. I can't stress just how much spring will rock. I'm a bit better than I was before the snow came so it'll be nuts to just pick up the bag and actually shredshred when I'm bored. Nice weather shred. Mmmm. Fun times.

Been thinking a lot lately ABOUT footbag. Not enough really stalling of the footbag. But here check this out:

toe set > op out (dex) > same out (dex) > op anti clipper (xbd)(del)

anti-paradon? Would that be the full name? It'd be fun to hit I think. Non?

Some questions still remain. What's a merkon? And does anyone know of any people in the MA area (since it's a possible transfer site)?

mid-semester reports are fun.

what's an "anti-clipper". Is it a typo or some secret trick I don't know about?

anti-clipper = crossbody toe stall (clipper except on your toe instead of inside)

Footbag.org shows a lot of players in MA but I have never heard of any of them... and you never know how active someone is on .org. Its always worth an email to find out if they play or not anyway.
