I was just trying to cheer you up, I actually read your blog quite frequently. I'm aware of the difference between 2.6k and 3k because I am a boring math and computer science major
Hey if you ever want to come to oregon for a few days you would definitely have a place to crash at my house. I have certainly been to mount hood, I used to have to drive over the pass that goes right next to it to get to portland. Its really beautiful. Yeah agate beach sucks. I think people collected all the agates long ago, or it was just a clever ploy to get more tourism
Maybe we could get that lazy bum Chris May to come to Eugene if you came here. I've never met him in person and he lives like an hour or two away. haha he will probably rip on me for that

My God Ken. Well hung??!?! I WAS NOT expecting anything of that sort when I started reading!
And yes, it does get in the way when I do double over motions
Umm... string length? For tiltless anything around 20 is not surprising. Actually, I'm finding it to be quite common now. I'm not playing guiltless, for obvious reasons.
I did think about why I posted in my blog, but ultimately I'm doing it because what I write is inspiration to atleast one person - Szymon. That makes me feel good about myself. Aside from that, I've been posting in this thing for months and can already see huge improvements in my game since I started. It's really interesting to go back and read what you were working on in the past.
James, if I come down it will mostly likely be later this year or around this time next year. Not for a while, but I definitely want to make the visit again. Maybe then it'll be enough to get Chris out of his hole? (haha, sorry Chris
)
EDIT - Alright, I finally uploaded the video of Spinning Double Switch. It can be found here.

Good session tonite. I'm tired, it's late. I need sleep. Sleep for THE HUGE FUCKING WEEKEND THAT IS ABOUT TO CONSUME US ALL!
First thing. Shred at the YMCA with the crew. Second thing. Frequency with Kevin! I really never dance, but this should be good! I will dance like a Mosher - like no one is watching
. Thirdly! E-town crew getogether on Friday nite! Not to mention we will be filming for our video! IT. WILL. KICK. ASS.
Back to the session. It was pretty good. I did a lot of tiltless stuff, and worked on hitting a few good 4 adders, going tiltless, some more 4 adders, tiltless, yarba. Some good runs were hit.
- Toe set Torque, clip set Torque, Spinning Osis (all bsos) with Spinning Ducking Clipper (dropped other side).
- Torque, Spinning Osis, and Spinning Osis > Torque bsos
- Spinning Ducking Clip bsos with Eggplant in it (dropped other side - the bad calf side :/)
And that's all that I can remember right now.
EDIT - Vortex bsos first attempt that evening as well.

My feet and legs are killing me, but the weekend kicked ass!
Friday was a solid 3 hour session at the YMCA. A lot of sweet things were hit by the crew. I don't get how Kevin makes Smog and Pigbeater look so easy, that crazy wholesome guy. The crew rocks, they are so fun to shred with and even more fun to chill out with. We filmed for a bit. Not a lot, but a bit. I'm having a hard time recalling the events from the past two days just because right now I feel incredibly exhausted. I'll try to remember what went down though...
Some of my stuffy stuffs:
Vortex > Torque off the foot several times
A run starting with Spinning Double Switch
A lot of Torques.
A decent run starting with Whirlwind (should be on cam I think?)
My Torques were really doing well that day.
I think I had Mobius and Vortex bs in different strings as well?
Skull Smasher was off my foot.
Alright, that's about all I can remember from that. Following that session we headed to the liquor store. I was eating a banana (my supper) and Rory had locked my wallet in his car. When we got in and met up with Kevin and Ben (who took Ben's vehicle) the clerk lady (Margie I do believe) came and asked for our IDs. That turned out to be pretty funny, because as she was checking the crew's ID I was saying how my wallet was locked in Rory's car. During that time, I had should finished eating my banana and when she turned to me. I said the first thing that came to mind...
"Did you want to see my banana?"
"Not until I check your ID, so I don't go to prison."
That was the funniest thing all weekend! She has such a wicked sense of humour! When I came back with my wallet we engaged in more talk and I mentioned how I am taller in my picture. That ultimately lead to her referring to me as "Mr. Tall Guy" - ironic because we were both approx the same height - and just the atmosphere that followed was enlightening. I should go back to that store sometime
Ben's place was pretty mellow. He showed us pics of when he went to a Malasian (????????? Sorry Ben, I'm so out of it) Sepak Takraw tourny way back in the day. That was cool. He also introduced us to his roomy - Pat - who played footbag net for 10 years. I find that to be fascinating, just because for me footbag seems like it has been here for a while, but when I looked at him it seemed like 10 years ago things were just starting to unfold for both freestyle and net. I always think of them together. Anywho, we watched Natural Born Kickers on a huge tv. Some of the sections just weren't working, which was a total bummer, but I stilled enjoyed it.
We left Ben's place at around 1:30am, dropped Kevin off at his place and I stayed the nite with Rory. We had a 3am kick session which didn't do very well, because we were both exhausted and I was still a bit intoxicated. Everything was so swirly! We got some footage of that session and Rory will/should be posting up a vid shortly!
I awoke the next morning to the peaceful sounds of a vacuum cleaner. As noisy as it was, I got accustomed to it and fell back asleep. I remember opening my eyes not too long after to see a hand in the room throwing a banana across my mattress. Holy hell, I was both scared and happy. Yay! Bananas! I got up, ate a delicious breakfast with Rory, then headed out to West Edmonton Mall to go kick with Kevin.
I know this session was such a gooder. We started out mellow, then went pretty hard for the first hour and some. The last bit we just went tiltless and did long runs for the spectators. The spectators! We had so many of them! Seriously, AT LEAST 100 people stopped to watch us for the time that we were there. At one point, we must had around 20 - 30 people watching. It's such a thrill, and at those times it really makes you want to do fancy long strings of whatever. One spectator even applauded after I finished a long string, which felt very gratifying. Alright, onto the results:
Rory hit Pdx Drifter MIDSTRING and was so close to weakside. That was huge. He also had some sweet shuffle going on throughout. Oh oh, stepping out of Osis! Kevin and I were blown away!
Kevin. What is there not to say? Goliath FIRST ATTEMPT?!?! Yeah, that's what he didn't post in the New Tricks section. We were just fooling around, trying tricks at the end and he was like "I'm going to go for Goliath." Bam. No questions, it was perfectly executed. He had crazy long shuffle strings full of Pigbeaters, Smogs, Eggbeaters, Atom SMashers all over the place. His clippers are getting very consistant as well - he beat me when we were both doing alternating Clips!
As for myself, I thought I played real well. Fairy sets left and right - they felt totally 'on', among other things...
Fairy ss Pickup > Magellan > Magellan > Fairly ss Pickup > run
Fairy Ducking Mirage > run
Torque > Torque bsos (trickless, but who cares)
Blender > Spinning Osis!
Blender bsos
Weakside Big Apple off my foot.
Little Apple > run
5 contacts of Rubberman. Arg! Kevin was also equally close the nite before.
Flapper midstring (when did I get that flexible?)
Double Switch > Double Switch > run
Assassion > run > Phoenix > dropped whatever the trick was at the end
Torque and Mobius bsos
Symp DLO > runny
Gyro Blender first attempt for Kevin and Rory
That's about all I can recall at this time, and sounds to be pretty much everything. I was close to Predator at the end, as well as Montage. I felt like I had to do it after Kevin hit Goliath like butter. I didn't do it, but who cares!
I went back with Kevin to his place, and we crashed at around 6 until 7:30. Then we made our way down to Frequency - a rave that hit Edmonton. It was my first time hitting any huge dancing concert, rave thingy so I was a bit nervous. On our way there Kevin and I were going down the sidewalk and came upon what looked like a huge hall. We didn't know if that was it because it didn't say anywhere 'Polish Hall' but it looked as though it could fit an event like Frequency. We kept walking when Kevin stops and looks at me.
"I hear beats.... can you?"
"No I don't..."
Kevin then starts bobbing his head to the invisible beat.
"Just follow your nose Toucan Sam!"
We chuckled and sure enough, Kevin followed his nose for music and the hall was just a bit further down! What awaited the devilish duo in the house of rave? Find out next blog post when I'm not so sleepy

At any given time, there were at least 30 people watching. At one point, we had about 150 watching.
There were lots.
haha, toucan sam. All I could hear was this "ww ww ww ww", a bass drum at like 12 Hz.

So here we were, outside of the Polish Hall at roughly 8:30pm. Beats were thundering out the door that immediately made you want to bust out your bag and start shredding. Kevin and I walk in through the door, only to be told that the doors weren't open until 9. Fuck. We had to kill 30 minutes and didn't even bring a bag. Double fuck! We headed over to a hospital which was just down the street because I had to go potty pretty bad and it wasn't like we didn't have the time to kill.
To sum it up, we filled our water bottles (which were later confiscated at the door) at the hospital, Kevin filled me in on the ShrEdmonton Jam and we took baby steps for most of the ways back to the hall. We waited in line, got searched, and finally made it in by around... 9:30 I would say. The place was huge and I remember thinking that it would take a fuckload of people to fill it up - like around a thousand people. By the end of that nite, it was packed - you couldn't take one step without walking through someone else's fart.
The rest of the nite is pretty much a blur of dancing to sweet beats, sitting and just random events that happened throughout the nite. I remember that I felt pretty nervous about dancing at first, so I just did some air shredding (as closely as I could) to the beat - a lot of Ripwalk > Sidewalks and Magellans. We went in this one room and I did some clippers with my keys, but that's about all the shredding that went down.
There were three events that really stuck out for me. The first was witnessing a girl being taken outside by security/paramedics. Weird. The second was when we were in Room 3 (there was the main room which was incredibly large, then underneath there were two other rooms (2 and 3) much smaller in size which played different kind of music) - I think this was in the last few hours of the nite Kevin- and I was standing against the wall because I was tired as fuck, then Kevin came and we both were standing there. Anyways, this hot chick lifted up her skirt and showed her friend her underwear (briefly) and the other girl lifted up her mini skirt to reveal such a perfect bottom. Very lacy. I turned over to see if Kevin caught it but he was looking in the other direction. Then he went back on the dance floor. The third event happened not too long afterwards. I was still standing against the wall, bobbing my head to the beat when this girl with a glowstick started moving it infront of my face. I didn't know what to say/do, so I just smiled and followed it. She did that three more times. Kevin later told me that she probably thought I was on 'E' and explained how glowsticks leave trails in the air. The fourth time the girl did it, it stopped being amusing and just got annoying.
We decided to head out around 6am. Well I should rephrase that - we decided to go get our coats at 6. It was so messed up though, just because the people ran out of coat hangers and decided to tape the identification numbers on them and throw them on top of the racks. Well, things got mixed up, lost, and disorganized which resulted in a huge, angry crowd. We stood in front of the place for about 40 minutes until we got close enough that I spotted our coats. I showed Kevin, and he pointed it out to the stressed people behind the counter. By this time, they just wanted to get coats out of there asap. We got out the door and proceeded to take the hour long bus journey back to Kevin's place. We got to sleep at around 8am, woke up at 11:30 and then headed out at noon to meet my folks at the mall.
My feet and legs were killing me, but the weekend kicked ass.

My legs are only now returning to normal strength.
I totally did NOT know about the skirt incident at all. That's funny.
There was at LEAST 2000 people there by the end of the night, if not something closer to 3500.
Ferry Corsten is here on the 23rd of April. I'm talking to you "ANYONE WHO LIVES IN ALBERTA". It's going to be such. A. Good. Time.
Seriously.
Guys, we need to find a way to make a bag glow. Then we need to make a bag glow. Then we need to shred with it during the warm-up acts on the 23rd. Then we need to bust-a-fucking-move when Ferry gets up there.
That's the bottom line.

i'm not a big fan of ferry, there's only really one track that was listed as being produced by him that i've ever really been into. he does have some really booty rockin beats, but i'm more of a dark dirty breaks kinda guy my self.
in all honesty, i didn't read all of that, but i swear i will come back and do that... some time.

That's definitely cool Kevin. Turns out I have to volunteer for a badminton tourny that's on the 23rd to earn hours for PE. The weekend after though - YIPPEE!!
I kicked twice so far this week - one on Monday and one this evening. Both were really mellow and just focused on whatever. And by whatever, I meant random things.
My knees prior to Monday felt great, as did my calf, but due to gym teachers who don't have "warm-up" in their vocabulary both have been acting up a little bit. I'm definitely feeling some healing action however, which has me pleased.
Fuck these Whitening strips are a bitch.
A short rundown on tonite's session. I kicked for roughly an hour and half while working on whatever. Towards the end I was mostly working on fairy sets and spinning out of Blender and Dynos. I had real good success with both of them.
I ducked my first weakside fairy sets tonite - a bit overdue since I first learnt how to do them such a long time ago. I hit Fairy Ducking Butterfly / Mirage / Osis (respectively) and they all took 2, 3, 2 attempts (respectively). I had Alpine Feral off my foot on the second attempt, but got carried away afterwards with hitting a few fairy links.
Spinning out of Blender was suprisngly easy tonite. The first time I hit weakside Blender > Spinning Osis I hit it bsos, and later in the string hit Dyno > Spinning Osis (first attempt ever!). When I managed Dyno > Spinning Osis on my weakside, I later hit it on the stronger side (making it bsos).
Then I hit all of the combos mentioned above again.
EDIT - Forgot the fairy combos. They aren't much, but *shrugs*
Fear > Fairy Butterfly bs
Nallegam > Magellan > Fear > Fairy Butterfly
Still needs a touch more work

A lot has happened since. Well not really, but I like to think so.
I hit Spinning Dragonfly kick for my cousin first attempt over the weekend, in long pants and socks. That was totally sweet.
I'm starting to kick everyday now. My knees feel so much better - no more pains when I kick (except for today since we had a basketball PE 30 championship game so I totally had to play hard). My calf still gives me a tiny bit of trouble, but only if I go for too many atomic, stepping or quantum sets. A few is alright.
I really can't wait for the online comps to start. Tom virtually kicked my ass and got me to get a video in. Division 2 Sick 3, but I think my Sick 1 should be in the first Division.
I can't remember what I did Monday, but last nite I did a lot of just working on strings and getting weakside pixie sets back. Fairy sets are kicking ass - I want to incorporate them more. You don't see them very often, which gives me more incentive to do them. I also worked on zooming and gyro more. I love doing them. I can control the momentum of my fatty buttocks!
Anywho, a breif list of what I was happy with.
Spinning Mirage and Spinning Illusion bsos
Gyro Osis > Gyro Mirage bs
Gyro Osis > Spinning Mirage bs
Gyro Osis > Gyro Blender bs (almost bsos)
Spinning Osis > Gyro Blender bs (nowhere near bsos
)
And Eggplant > Omelette is one of my favorite links. I forgot to mention, but when I was in Edmonton Kevin suggested I try that combo repeat. It's so hard, but sheesh. Legs a flailin' everywhere!
This evening I don't know what I'll work on. I think I'll most likely do more pixie/fairy sets, along with more zooming. Torques have been on my mind today, so I think I'll work on them as well. Oh, and more bsos tricks.

I've been feeling pretty drained these past few days, which could result from bad sleeping habits. That took a toll on my footbag sessioning, but oh well. My last two sessions I felt empty and so tired that not a lot was done. My knees are feeling good and my calf is surely making some progress.
My right arm/shoulder is incrediby sore from playing badminton in PE class. I never played it outside of PE, but I love it. Maybe this year I could compete?
I had a real good rest last nite and my mother needs to use the computer today so I think that's a sign that I should have a session today. I don't know what I'll work on though. I'd really like to do shuffling but I still think my legs won't be able to do that for very long. I'd also like to work on stepping sets, but alas.
I'll most likely work on smaller tricks that I lost my touch on (Whirls, Eggbeaters (not so much of those), maybe some Drifters, who knows). I'll also do a lot of titless stuff again, and throw in 3/4 adds midstring. Let's see where this leads me.

Well none of that certainly happened, hehe. Oh wait, I did work on Drifters a lot, but for the most part the entire session was very mellow. Atleast that went well - I hit Alex Zerbe is the Greatest! He really is the greatest
I've been having a bit of a situation in my personal life which keeps flashing itself in my mind, and in turn pisses me off. I think it's also the reason for my sapped motivation for footbag and the lack of energy these days. Sadly enough, it won't work itself out until a certain someone decides to speak with me. God knows when that will happen since they haven't presented themself in about 4 weeks.
I tried for Warp this session. That was doomed to complete and utter failure. My first few attempts were good and I got so far as getting all three dexterities but missing the delay (set was a tad low). All attempts afterwards, I couldn't get the set. I don't know why I even bothered attempting it because my legs didn't feel fast that session at all. At all.
Anywho, I'm in a bit of a better mindset today. I want to beat the final level in Starcraft! I have to do it, then I can go to town with Broodwar. Footbag I will leave up in the air - if I feel up to it I'll do it but I'm not going to force myself to kick.

When I thought I was heading into a slump, I picked myself out of it with today's session.
I had two sessions today, for a total of around 3-3.5 hours. They were so nice. I learnt the magic of breathing - while shredding. I can't believe how much longer I can go now, and without gasping for breath afterwards. I was happy with hitting a number of strings that were +30 contacts and feeling as though I was in complete control the entire time. It was so nice.
Anywho, I picked up my pixie sets by doing roughly 30 - 40 on each side. That really got them back. I drilled them for the entire final session and booya - I came so bloody close to hitting a 16 contact pixie shuffle drill. I also beat some old records as well, which was nice.
The thingamijigs!
Smear x 7 bs
PLO x 10 (starting on both sides)
Fairy Legover x 5
And... *drum rolls*
PLO > Pixie Pickup > PLO > Magellan > Smear > Pixie ss Mirage > Smear > Pixie ss Mirage > PLO > Pixie Pickup > PLO > Magellan > Smear > Pixie ss Mirage
I think I can beat my new records easily, but with all honesty I was dieing to get that full string of pixie shuffles that I didn't go for them too much.
All in all, I'm feeling really good now. That was the most footbag I endulged in for a few weeks. I hope this is the start of something good.
EDIT - I also beat the final level of Starcraft today. Yay! Now to help the Protoss gather their forces and crush the remaining Zerg
